Twenty four: So hence you left me hanging, in a room with a noose and a chair.
My cell phone ringing was what woke me up. Zacky remained snoozing peacefully beside me, we’d decided to sleep in my bed last night, we hadn’t done anything much, he simply kissed me a bunch of times before pulling me against his chest and telling me to go to sleep.
But now he was spooning me from behind and I was trying to find where I’d left my phone last night when I came to bed. I located it on the bedside table and flipped it open without even checking the caller ID.
“Hello” I said, to the caller it would be obvious I had just woken up.
“ Riley ” My stomach dropped.
“Hi Mason… I didn’t think you’d call” I said
“ It took some time but I saw sense and realised I was being a complete asshole, I was way out of line with everything I said to you the other day Riley, you’re not a whore, and I’m so incredibly sorry for everything that I said to you, and if you can… find it somewhere to forgive me I’d really like to take you on another date, if you’ll let me ” He finished.
“Mason i…”
“Why’re you talking to Mason?” Zacky mumbled sleepily from beside me.
“He called me” I said “Mason what you said to me, it hurt and I… Mason I can’t come back, not after that”
“ Riley please just give me another chance ” He pleaded. I was about to respond when Zacky snatched the phone away from me.
“Look asshole, she said no, you wanna know why she won’t take you back? Cos’ you were right, there was something going on between us and she chose me over you so why don’t you fuck off back to where you came from and leave her alone because she doesn’t want you anymore, I’m not even sure if she ever did all that much” And then he snapped the phone shut and threw it down on the bed. “Problem solved” He said lying back.
“No, not problem solved, problem just made a thousand times worse, Zack I cannot believe you just did that!” I yelled throwing the quilt off me and getting out of his bed.
“Riley come on I said exactly what you were thinking”
“No I was thinking of actually meeting him and telling him what had happened and making sure that there were no hard feelings, but you just… oh my god why did you do that you fucking idiot!”
“Don’t call me that! Riley I don’t get why you’re so pissed at me?!” He ran a hand through his hair; he looked confused and annoyed, and desperate.
“Jesus because knowing him he’s probably going to tell all your little fan bases and the news reporters and everything and create this whole shit storm that none of you or any of the other guys need, Zack what the fuck!” I was ranting now, pacing the apartment like a crazy person until he grabbed me by the shoulders and kissed me. I wanted to stay angry at him, I wanted to push him away and yell at him some more, but the way his lips felt against mine and how I fit so well against his chest it just made me melt and I couldn’t stop him.
“I’m sorry” He said “I thought it was the right thing to do, just… just come back to bed and we can talk about it” He said guiding me slowly back to his bedroom.
Obviously we didn’t do any talking, what started with kissing ended up in me squirming around on my back while he had his head between my legs.
When it was over and his face was level with mine again and our breathing had calmed
down he grinned at me.
“What?”
“Best conversation I had in a long time” He said
“I’m still mad at you”
“Mhmm sure you are”
“I am”
“So if I tried to kiss you you’d push me away” He quirked an eyebrow.
“Yes”
“Care to test that theory” He asked.
“Go for it” Then his lips were on mine and his hand was back in my boxers which I’d only just got back on. But they were removed again pretty quickly. “Zacky stop” I gasped, pulling away from his lips.
“What?” He asked kissing my neck.
“You have a band meeting in an hour” I said
“Shit” He said
“We can’t do this now”
“I think you’ll find that we can” He said speeding up his actions. I whimpered and dragged my nails down his back and pretty soon I was at the point that no one had ever been able to get me to so quickly, yes it happened with other guys, but Zacky got me there in much less time and they were much more explosive. “Told you we could do it”
“Shut up” I said
“You coming to the band meeting?”
“Yeah I haven’t seen the girls in a while, although i…”
“What?”
“They can’t know yet”
“Why?”
“Because I’m not ready for people to know yet” I said
“Okay babe, whenever you’re ready”
“Thank you”
