Watch You Crawl
Chapter 10
My alarm buzzed beside me. Groaning, I rolled over from my warm spot in the bed and turned it off. Laying there for a moment, my first thought was him, again.
I threw the covers off of me and went to make myself breakfast before taking a shower.
I got out of the shower and pull on my clothes before drying my hair and putting on a little makeup. I grabbed my stuff and headed off to work,
“Cat, order up!” Alec hollered.
I grabbed the plate of food and gave it the customer.
It has been kind of a busy day but nothing I couldn’t handle but I wish my aching feet could say the same. The day went on as normal and at my time to go home it was already dark. Walking home, I foolishly looked around for him. But nothing.
It had been a week since I came home and Brian was nowhere to be found. I had finally tried to convince myself on giving up on the idea that I would ever see him again.
But he was a psycho right? You’re better off. I tried to tell myself.
I told myself I believed that and crawled into bed and drifted off to sleep.
The next day I was scheduled to work later in the afternoon at about 4. So I headed there after a shower and a quick bite to eat.
The afternoon was slow but at least I filled the ketchup bottles, rolled more utensils in napkins, filled to salt and pepper shakers and took out the trash so I wouldn’t have to do everything later. I had nothing to do and no customers were there at the moment so I sat down in a booth and rested my feet for a minute.
“See ya tomorrow, Cat.” Sam smiled, heading out the back.
“See ya!”
I sat there for a good 15 minutes without getting yelled and picked at the chipped polish on my nails when the bell above the door dinged and my slowly raised my head.
My eyes widen and my heart sped up so fast I thought it would surely pop out of my chest.
It was him.
He sat down at the same table in the back corner that I first saw him at. I went to get up and go over to him but Becky got to him first.
“Hey there, what can I get ya?” she smiled, cheerfully.
“A glass of water please, and steak. Rare.” He answered looking down at the menu.
“Ok, I’ll be right back with your water.”
He nodded and she walked away.
I sat there frozen not knowing what to do but stare at him. He glanced up from his menu and looked directly at me. I stupidly smiled and he continued to stare.
Our intense stare was broken by Becky coming back to the table and setting down his glass of water.
“There you are. Anything else I could do for you?”
He shook his head and Becky went about her business.
What do I do? What do I do? I panicked.
Well I didn’t have to think about it anymore because Alec told me it was time to go.
So I hesitantly got up from my seat and took one last look at him before walking into the back and grabbing my things. He didn’t even look up from his plate. That hurt a little. I felt stupid hoping and hoping he would come in again and actually give me the time of day or even talk to me.
As I crawled into bed I once again thought of his face at the diner earlier. I lay there starring at the ceiling before closing my eyes.
I was almost to sleep when I felt a sudden cool rush of air.
I slowly opened my eyes and almost screamed but a hand covered my mouth. It was him. He was straddling my waist pinning me to the bed.
“Miss me?” he smiled.
