Chapter 8: A Deal for a Deal
Meaghan's P.O.V
I sat here outside of the building with my back against the passenger door of Jake's car; it had been a solid thirty minutes and I had no idea what was going on since he told me to sit here and wait. A few moments later I saw Jake exit the building licking his finger clean; more than likely it was Erin's blood. He came over to me and stood really close to my face.
"Are you sure that this is what you really want to do?" He asked me moving my bleach blonde hair from the side of my face. I thought back at the recent events with Erin being around and how she ruined my relationship with Zack and knew that I wanted pay back.
"What do you want me to do?" I said looking up into his blue eyes. He smiled and continued to rub my hair with his fingers. Was I afraid? Yes; but I deserve to be wanted and needed. I closed my eyes and took in his touch and when I opened my eyes his were pure black and he had an evil grin from ear to ear. He pulled my lips to his smoothly and kissed me and then he broke from it quickly.
"First off we need to change you; this might hurt a little my dear.." He said and then snapped his teeth into my neck making me scream from the intense burn and pain. He stopped for a moment and bit at his own wrist and then forced it to my mouth.
"Swallow as much as you can" He said making sure that I got enough.
He stopped and smiled and then he turned me so that my back was on his chest. He rubbed up and down my sides and at my waist and then before I knew it he snapped my neck and there was nothing but darkness...
Erin's P.O.V
"Guys please listen to me; you don't want to do this" I said calmly holding my neck and backing up a little. With every inch that I would step or even move I felt my body weaken.
"Please guys we need to get her to the hospital! You are doing exactly what Jake wants you to do!" Val yelled but it didn't seem to get through to them. They both started moving forward but Matt grabbed the back of their shirts and pulled flinging them backwards. Michelle and Val ran over to me and Kim ripped part of her shirt off and pressed it into my neck.
"Ah fuck take it easy it hurts" I said through my teeth. Brian ran past Matt and grabbed my already bruised arm flashing his sharp teeth at me and moving in fast until Michelle hit him right in the chest throwing him through the door into the bathroom. The loud crash made me jump.
"Where did Zack go?" I asked looking around. Everyone else was looking around as well.
"Who the hell cares! Give her to me so that I can get her to the hospital" Johnny said and he swung my arm around his neck and he held my sides and pulled me up.
"Come on Erin" Johnny said. I couldn't help that I was slow; I was bleeding out to death. We made it outside and almost to Johnny's when Zack showed up right next me and he pushed Johnny and made me fall right into him not being able to pull my own weight. I was trembling in fear and was unsure of how much longer it was till I blacked out..again.
"Please don't" I said softly as he moved my head to the side. I felt his tongue run along the side of my neck slowly and I froze.
"Zack" I said softly trying to keep my eyes open; he stopped and picked me up bridal style and put me in the back seat of Johnny's car. He walked over to Johnny and helped him up.
"You take her right now before I do something extremely stupid" Zack said to Johnny. He nodded and got into the car and we sped off towards the hospital. I saw Johnny look in the rear view mirror to make sure that I was okay.
"Erin you have to stay awake; please don't give out on us I promise we will be at the hospital soon" He said. I sat up a little trying to keep myself from lying down and sleeping which was difficult. We arrived at the hospital and he parked and picked me up and carried me inside.
About three nurses came over and were checking out my neck.
"What happened to her?" One of them asked.
"I don't know she was at the concert and when I found her she was bleeding out and she has lost a lot of blood. Please help her" Johnny said getting a little frustrated with the nurse. They brought a gurney out and set me on it and I reached for Johnny since I didn't want to be alone. They pulled my arms down and moved me down the hallway. There were so many bright lights and people asking too many questions; I started crying wishing that Zack were here and that I wasn't alone.
"We are going to give you a sedative; you will just drift off to sleep and when you wake up you may feel a little pain; go ahead and count to ten" The nurse said.
"1...2...3..." I was about to say 4 but I passed out.
I kept drifting in and out of sleep; damn that was a strong sedative. I felt warm and couldn't think straight which was nice because who would want to think about how messed up their life is. I had no idea how long it had been but after a long sleep I finally opened my eyes to a very bright room. I didn't move but looked around and saw the heart monitor and the IV that was in my arm. I pressed the button to call the nurse and she came right into the room a moment later.
"I see that you are awake; you gave all your friends quite the scare" The nurse said to me. I just stared at her thinking of what to say. My mouth was really dry and I just wanted to know how long I had been asleep.
"Can I get some water; and how long was I asleep for?" I asked. She grabbed the pitcher of water and poured it into the cup and smiled.
"You have been here for about 2 days now; you lost a lot of blood but later today you should be able to go home and get some good rest" She said. I sat there sipping my water after she left and then Matt and Val came into the room.
"Hey you are actually awake!" Matt said smiling. I smiled back.
"We don't have much time left to figuring things out though" I said once again going back to over thinking things. Both of their faces dropped from being happy.
"What? Why did you guys stop being happy" I asked sitting up in the bed a little. They just looked at one another and then to me.
"Erin we had to make a decision while you were asleep" Matt said which scared me.
"What do you mean you had to make a decision? What did you do? And where is Zack?" I asked starting to get a little worked up.
"Well we met with Jake and Papa Gates while you were asleep and we bought ourselves a little more time; we will talk about it when you get out of here" Matt said and they both rubbed my hand and walked out. I sat there not knowing what to say but I really wanted out of here.
I gazed at my clothing in the plastic bag across the room and contemplated my next move. The doctor came in startling me a little.
"I see someone is a little jumpy; how are you feeling today Erin?" He asked me.
"I am feeling okay; still trying to wake up a little and my neck is sore but I feel fine regardless" I said and he just kept writing. He came over and checked all of my vitals and wrote some more.
"Alright Erin I think that you are ready to go home; just give us an hour to draw up the paperwork and we will get you out of here" The doctor said. But I just couldn't wait anymore.
"I am so sorry but I need to leave right now" I said and grabbed my clothes changing in front of the doctor.
"Please just calm down and you will get to leave soon" He said but I was already leaving while he finished the statement. I walked downstairs and outside and hailed a cab.
"3rd and Main please" I said. He pulled out and started driving and I just watched the yellow lines on the road the whole way there. When we arrived I got out and immediately went into one of the stores and bought some different clothes. After I walked down the street with my aviators on and tried to think about what kind of deal they could have made. I pulled out my cell phone and called the number marked Papa Gates that somehow was there.
"I knew that you would call eventually; are the boys listening in on your conversation?" He asked.
"No. I left the hospital and I want to talk alone. Coffee shop 6th and Main in 5 minutes" I said and hung up the phone. I walked down the street and to this coffee shop and sat down at one of the tables outside. A moment later I saw Papa Gates come out of the coffee shop door with coffee in his hands; he set one down right in front of me.
"So Erin what can I do for you; it takes guts for you to want to see me without the boys" He said to me licking his teeth a little.
"I know that you and Jake made a deal with the boys but they wouldn't tell me anything about it. I want to know what the deal was and I want to know what happened to my parents" I asked and he sighed and took a drink of his coffee.
"Well my dear your parents are dead; I knew you would ask me that one day. Your father was a demon and your mom was human and one day your father defied me to go off with your mother and made some really stupid moves. He watched your mother die by Jake's hands and I killed your father. His time was up" He said very boldly making me a little sick to my stomach. I wiped the little bit of tears from my eyes.
"And the deal?" I asked plain and simple.
"You are very straight to the point today; I like it. Unfortunately I cannot tell you about the deal" He said flat out but I knew the way he worked.
"Name you price" I said out on a whim.
His head shot towards me and I knew that I finally had his attention....
