Chapter 43: Nothing Can Compare
Papa Gates P.O.V
Erin had finally drifted into her dream state and I was ready to make my way into her head… it was possible since I changed her. She was dreaming about her old life in Nebraska… before things got bad with Jake. She was sitting in an empty bar just sipping some wine and I think she was taking in the fact that it was quiet. She was crying a little though probably because it was hard to take in the fact that she was different now. I went over and sat down next to her and was a little bit taken off guard when she just looked over at me and didn’t move back or freak out.
“You come here often?” She asked me and then giggled softly.
“No but you seem to come here often. I am shocked that you aren’t repulsed by me; I was sure that you were going to play the whole go the hell away card or what the fuck do you want thing” I said trailing off and grabbing a bottle of whiskey. I raised my glass a little.
“To change” She said raising her glass at well and then clinked it against mine. She seemed off. She wasn’t playing the victim card anymore.
“What is wrong with you? This is a bar; you are supposed to just drink and put all your troubles behind you. You seem so uptight” She said to me and I started laughing.
“Says the woman who always plays the victim card. Usually you freak out at the sight of me” I said and she started laughing a little.
“No no sir; you make me the victim thank you. You have shattered a lot of my life. But honestly this is just a dream… It is not real… I just want to live a little and find peace. I want to have at least a little time to be normal” She said. I nodded cause she was right that I put her in the victim position.
“I may put you in the victim position but you play the part out and you don’t cooperate so it only makes it worse miss” I said to her and she looked down at her drink and I could tell that it upset her a little bit that I said it. She looked up at me and I didn’t know what to make of how she was reacting…. To be honest she was a little blank at the moment.
“Did you come into my dream to harass me or something?” She asked.
“I came in here to watch you my dear; you didn’t think that I changed you for nothing did you?” I asked her and she shrugged and chugged the rest of her wine and got up.
“Well then watch me; but don’t harass me” She said and I got up and followed her out of the building and out to the empty streets. Wow her dream was really really boring in a way but really I could understand that sometimes she wanted to get away from everything. She walked down to her apartment building and rode the elevator up to the third floor. When she walked inside she sat down on the couch and behind her there was a memory replaying and I just sat down and she looked at me and then to herself and Jake.
“YOU TOLD HAYLEY YOU STUPID BITCH!! I FUCKING LOVED YOU!” Jake yelled and threw a glass against the wall.
“I TOLD HAYLEY SO WHAT!!! SHE WONT FUCKING SAY ANYTHING! YOU HAVE ZERO FAITH IN ME!!” She yelled back at him and he picked her up and threw her onto the bed and pulled his claw to her and scratched her arm and she yelped in pain and he kissed her roughly. She pulled away and slapped him and he fell off the bed.
“GOD YOU A DRIVING ME INSANE!” He yelled and he walked out the door and slammed it. Suddenly she faded from the bed and I just watched Erin cry a little as she remembered that. I didn’t want to try and comfort her because I knew that she wouldn’t take it. After a moment she curled up to me and just cried.
“Shhh don’t worry that time is over” I said to her trying not to aggravate her. She pulled away and got up and walked into the kitchen and she threw her vase full of flowers up against the wall and she completely lost it. She freaked the hell out and started trashing everything. After a moment I was pulled out of the dream state since Erin woke up.
“JAKE MY OFFICE!” I yelled for Jake.
Erin’s P.O.V
I felt someone shaking me and I shot up from the couch.
“FUCK!” I yelled shaking a little from the terror I felt in my body. I took a moment to calm down and I looked over at Zack and I sighed a little.
“Oh my god I am so sorry I didn’t mean to scare you” I said to Zack and he got up and walked over to me. He hugged me tightly.
“You must have been having a nightmare” He said while stroking my hair.
“I honestly can’t even remember what was going on in the dream but whatever happened it got bad pretty quickly” I said and broke from the hug looking at the clock. It was only 8 in the morning which seemed so early. I went into the kitchen and was about to make some coffee but he stopped me.
“Let’s walk down the street to that café and we will get some just the two of us” He said and I smiled. We both threw our shoes on and walked down to get some coffee. After we got back we saw Jimmy and Izzy sitting outside drinking coffee and just laughing and smiling. We went over to them and I smiled at Izzy.
“Do you want to go shopping just the four of us?” I asked Izzy shot up in excitement from hearing the word shopping. I smiled and went in and changed to some light jeans and a white tee and grabbed my bag and put on some flip flops and grabbed my ray-bans and walked out the door meeting everyone. We went down to Main Street and just walked around for a while and the guys stopped to get ice cream so we walked into this cute shop so that we didn’t have to just stand around. After a few hours of shopping we went and grabbed some food for the whole band so that they could eat before the show tonight. I called everyone and let them know that we were going to be home in a minute. We met over at Vals and of course the men ate most of the food. We spent the next few hours just having some beers and talking about past concerts. I laughed and then ran upstairs and changed into this awesome gold top and some black skinny jeans and then some black pumps. I curled my hair and grabbed my makeup and put it in my bag and walked down stairs. After an hour we arrived at the venue and I was pumped up as I did my makeup for the show tonight. They started their set and Val was re-curling my hair and Michelle was helping me put some falsies on so there was enough noticeable volume. After a few minutes we went right to the side and the girls were so excited for this. They all gave me hugs.
“I am so nervous” I said getting a little jittery. They all just giggled.
“You will do great sweetie; being on stage is really fun. You just gotta go out there and do the damn thing!” Val said making me smile really big. I heard them say my name and I walked out and went to the mic and mic stand they had put out for me.
“How you all doing tonight” I asked the audience. Matt kicked off the song and I went along with him every step of the way and just did the damn thing like Val said. The rush felt amazing and I was moving around the stage and interacting with Matt and the other guys and it was just an amazing feeling. I took a bow after the song and all the girls greeted me with tight hugs and Izzy jumped on me nearly crushing me. The guys went through the rest of their set and I was greeted by Zack after the concert and he kissed me deeply.
“You were fucking amazing Erin” He said and I kissed him again.
“Awwee how cute; you really were amazing though dear” I heard someone say in a familiar voice… It wasn’t Papa Gates or Jake. I felt Zack tense and he pulled back and started choking and I turned around and was shocked when I saw my father standing right before my eyes. He was choking Zack and I pushed him and Zack took a deep breath.
“WHAT THE FUCK! YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD!” I yelled and in the blink of an eye he was gone. I stood there with Zack.
“Are you okay?” I asked and he nodded trying to regain strength. I took him out to get some air and he was getting a little better after that.
“What the hell is going on; I thought you killed your father?” He asked me and I nodded.
“I did” I said.
This was a true nightmare…
There was no way that my father would be back let alone have power…

Erin’s P.O.V
I felt someone shaking me and I shot up from the couch.
“FUCK!” I yelled shaking a little from the terror I felt in my body. I took a moment to calm down and I looked over at Zack and I sighed a little.
“Oh my god I am so sorry I didn’t mean to scare you” I said to Zack and he got up and walked over to me. He hugged me tightly.
“You must have been having a nightmare” He said while stroking my hair.
“I honestly can’t even remember what was going on in the dream but whatever happened it got bad pretty quickly” I said and broke from the hug looking at the clock. It was only 8 in the morning which seemed so early. I went into the kitchen and was about to make some coffee but he stopped me.
“Let’s walk down the street to that café and we will get some just the two of us” He said and I smiled. We both threw our shoes on and walked down to get some coffee. After we got back we saw Jimmy and Izzy sitting outside drinking coffee and just laughing and smiling. We went over to them and I smiled at Izzy.
“Do you want to go shopping just the four of us?” I asked Izzy shot up in excitement from hearing the word shopping. I smiled and went in and changed to some light jeans and a white tee and grabbed my bag and put on some flip flops and grabbed my ray-bans and walked out the door meeting everyone. We went down to Main Street and just walked around for a while and the guys stopped to get ice cream so we walked into this cute shop so that we didn’t have to just stand around. After a few hours of shopping we went and grabbed some food for the whole band so that they could eat before the show tonight. I called everyone and let them know that we were going to be home in a minute. We met over at Vals and of course the men ate most of the food. We spent the next few hours just having some beers and talking about past concerts. I laughed and then ran upstairs and changed into this awesome gold top and some black skinny jeans and then some black pumps. I curled my hair and grabbed my makeup and put it in my bag and walked down stairs. After an hour we arrived at the venue and I was pumped up as I did my makeup for the show tonight. They started their set and Val was re-curling my hair and Michelle was helping me put some falsies on so there was enough noticeable volume. After a few minutes we went right to the side and the girls were so excited for this. They all gave me hugs.
“I am so nervous” I said getting a little jittery. They all just giggled.
“You will do great sweetie; being on stage is really fun. You just gotta go out there and do the damn thing!” Val said making me smile really big. I heard them say my name and I walked out and went to the mic and mic stand they had put out for me.
“How you all doing tonight” I asked the audience. Matt kicked off the song and I went along with him every step of the way and just did the damn thing like Val said. The rush felt amazing and I was moving around the stage and interacting with Matt and the other guys and it was just an amazing feeling. I took a bow after the song and all the girls greeted me with tight hugs and Izzy jumped on me nearly crushing me. The guys went through the rest of their set and I was greeted by Zack after the concert and he kissed me deeply.
“You were fucking amazing Erin” He said and I kissed him again.
“Awwee how cute; you really were amazing though dear” I heard someone say in a familiar voice… It wasn’t Papa Gates or Jake. I felt Zack tense and he pulled back and started choking and I turned around and was shocked when I saw my father standing right before my eyes. He was choking Zack and I pushed him and Zack took a deep breath.
“WHAT THE FUCK! YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD!” I yelled and in the blink of an eye he was gone. I stood there with Zack.
“Are you okay?” I asked and he nodded trying to regain strength. I took him out to get some air and he was getting a little better after that.
“What the hell is going on; I thought you killed your father?” He asked me and I nodded.
“I did” I said.
This was a true nightmare…
There was no way that my father would be back let alone have power…
