Chapter 20: Carry On
Lacy’s P.O.V
The girl I met the first day she moved in was falling right before my eyes. The girl we all loved and that brought us close together has already died on us and now her father is killing her…. Her own flesh and blood, the person who helped make her was signing her death warrant. I sat there with the girls and we all cuddled up to each other as Zack and the rest of the men tended to her. I caught a glimpse of her face and she was terrified and we could all feel it.
“I can’t hold on; this blade…. It’s poisoned…. It’s different than what was on the other one; almost like it was meant for this” I heard her say. I could see the other women begin to cry and the guys comforted them. Johnny got up and hugged me but all I could do was watch Zack hold her; watch him lose the love of his life again. I came forward and sat in front of her.
“You are my best friend Erin; we will find a way to bring you back. I won’t let them take your soul or you away from Zack and the band. We will win and things will be better just you wait and see” I said trying to comfort her even though she was in immense pain. She smiled a little and her breaths were shallow and then her eyes went hollow…I knew she was gone. I sat there holding onto her hand and rubbed it and ran from the room.
Zack’s P.O.V
“Baby p-please don’t leave me…” I said holding on to her lifeless body tightly. There has to be a way to get her back; we have to try and resurrect her. We can’t fail at this. I saw everyone leave so that I could have a moment alone. I sat on the edge of Brian’s bed; this was the last fucking straw… I couldn’t breathe or think because if I did I knew that I would fly off the handle. I stormed out of the room and pulled Matt along with me. I brought him to my house leaving Erin.
“We have to get permission to bring her back….we have to” I said to Matt. He tried hugging me but I really just needed her back. We had to win this fight and god damnit we are going to do it together and as a family.
“I don’t even know who we go to for that though” Matt said and all of the sudden Maria was in the room. She looked distraught and upset; I couldn’t blame her.
“Where is she Zack?” She asked and I grabbed her hand and took her over to Brian’s. When we got up the stairs I could tell that this was going to be hard for her. She walked into the bed room and then put her hand over her mouth in shock. She kneeled next to Erin and moved some hair out of her face. She cried softly and then looked back up at me.
“Who did this to her?” She asked. Great I am going to have to be the one to tell her that her own father was the cause of this.
“This is really hard for me to tell you; Erin was being controlled by her father and he forced her to stab herself with that poisoned blade” I said and she just looked at me as if I was crazy.
“There is no way that he could do with the fact that he is dead” She said getting really defensive.
“He appeared right before she did it; we watched him tell her that she was an ungrateful daughter, had him tell us that he hopes that we can use our resurrection gifts and then tell us that we have 4 days until Papa Gates comes for her” I said getting really serious. I can’t believe that she didn’t know that he was alive. I saw Hayley come back in the room pushing through everyone.
“Zack isn’t lying; Steve is alive Maria, he hurt me a lot and used me to try and channel Erin. That who killing you and him was just for show on his end…it was his plan. He needed to make everything he was dead when really he was planning a whole different life for Erin…. He wants her to give into Papa Gates and rule with him giving Gates the rights to her powers… He wants to teach Erin the ways of hell Maria. Now how do we get permission to resurrect my best friend?” Hayley said shocking us all because she has never spoken to anyone that much. She sat there waiting for Maria to snap back into reality.
“Well….I was hoping that it would never have to come to what I have to say right now… The person who grants permission to resurrect is Erin’s sister Sarah….” She said almost like it was going to be a problem. And how in the fuck did I not know that Erin had a sister?
“Sister; how did I not know that she had one?” Zack asked and Hayley just sat there with the same expression as Maria….they both walked out of the room leaving the whole band alone. I guess we weren’t going to be in this conversation.
Hayley’s P.O.V
“So there is a huge issue right now” Maria said to me.
“What’s the problem?” I asked confused.
“Erin’s spirit would usually end up in Heaven like usual because of her being raised by me…but she never made it up there….” Maria said and I just died on this inside knowing exactly where she was.
“Oh my god this is so not good” I said trying to breathe….she is probably being tortured right now.
“Do you think that now is the right time to tell them?” Maria asked taking me off guard.
“Tell them what?” Making sure that she wasn’t asking what I think she was asking…..
Papa Gate’s P.O.V
I watched Jake come out to me and he was smiling. I just waited for him to talk just so I didn’t get my hopes.
“The king seems to have offed his daughter… We intercepted her on her way to Heaven… She is in your chambers sir. The King requests to see her before you do anything with her.” He said and I shot up in joy. She was mine right now and I was happy that Steve made his choice to kill her off.
“Thank you for all that you have done; I will take care of her” I said and walked towards my chambers in pure bliss. I opened the doors and she was chained to the wall and was scared shitless of me because there was no way that she was able to hurt me.
“Ah Erin; you aren’t so powerful now are you. I would be having my way with you except for the fact that your father wishes to see you in his chambers” I said to her grabbing the chains and pulling her with me down the long hallway. She dragged along because I knew that she didn’t wish to cross me right now. I walked her right into his chambers where he was finishing stealing a soul. Erin looked terrified at the moment.
“Sir” I said and he looked at me and then to Erin. He sighed and motioned for me to leave. I rubbed her cheek and walked out of the room giving them privacy.
Erin’s P.O.V
I looked right into my father’s eyes and was speechless.
“You see what happens when you do something stupid Erin; you get punished. I was trying to reason with you and not get angry with you and then I go and read your mind and hear you thinking so little of me? You are the most ungrateful daughter ever” He said but I was too consumed by the fact that theses chains were heavy and I felt off.
“You feel powerless and tired Erin; I know you do because you are powerless. You were meant to go to Heaven again since your mother found it fit to raise you there but I think that you need to learn your place right now Erin. I am not going to stop Papa Gates from coming at you” He said to me. I sat there crying because I was completely afraid and just wanted to get back to Zack. I so badly wanted to just drop and give up.
“Please dad; don’t do this to me… Don’t you love me?” I asked trying to figure out why he wanted this to happen to me.
“Stop with the pity party Erin; you were ungrateful and so right now I am going to show you what happens when you break my rules and go against your own father” He said and I just broke down completely and mentally. Papa Gates came back into the room and my father motioned for him to take me away. I screamed as loud as I could hoping that somehow someone could hear me.
Hayley’s P.O.V
“Tell them what?” Making sure that she wasn’t asking what I think she was asking…..
“You know exactly what I am talking about” She said and I just couldn’t believe that she wanted to tell them before telling Erin.
“Why are we telling them first!” I said trying understand this.
“Listen; Erin is dead so we really can’t tell her anything right now and besides you are her sister…. So you better fix this….Sarah” She said to me in the mom tone.
“Ah hell whatever mom I will tell them” I said and turned and walked back into the room. They all just stared at me.
“So there is something about me that you need to know…my name isn’t Hayley…. My name is Sarah. I am Erin’s sister and your boss” I said and all their jaws dropped.
Ah what a great day this is turning out to be….

Zack’s P.O.V

I can’t believe that she didn’t know that he was alive. I saw Hayley come back in the room pushing through everyone.
“Zack isn’t lying; Steve is alive Maria, he hurt me a lot and used me to try and channel Erin. That who killing you and him was just for show on his end…it was his plan. He needed to make everything he was dead when really he was planning a whole different life for Erin…. He wants her to give into Papa Gates and rule with him giving Gates the rights to her powers… He wants to teach Erin the ways of hell Maria. Now how do we get permission to resurrect my best friend?” Hayley said shocking us all because she has never spoken to anyone that much. She sat there waiting for Maria to snap back into reality.

Hayley’s P.O.V

She dragged along because I knew that she didn’t wish to cross me right now. I walked her right into his chambers where he was finishing stealing a soul. Erin looked terrified at the moment.
“Sir” I said and he looked at me and then to Erin. He sighed and motioned for me to leave. I rubbed her cheek and walked out of the room giving them privacy.
Erin’s P.O.V

“Listen; Erin is dead so we really can’t tell her anything right now and besides you are her sister…. So you better fix this….Sarah” She said to me in the mom tone.
“Ah hell whatever mom I will tell them” I said and turned and walked back into the room. They all just stared at me.
“So there is something about me that you need to know…my name isn’t Hayley…. My name is Sarah. I am Erin’s sister and your boss” I said and all their jaws dropped.
Ah what a great day this is turning out to be….
