Chapter 19: Hail to the King
Papa Gate’s P.O.V
“That stupid little bitch, who the fuck does she think she is! I try and tell her about her father; although I was lying and she goes and fucking stabs me!” I said livid about my encounter with Erin as I sat in the great hall with Jake and Meaghan trying to come up with our strategy. They both just sat there shocked by how livid I was.
“And for that little twit to try and reason with her father; she is honestly going to get what is coming to her” I said again.
“Master I think that we should finally tell Meaghan the full story about Erin and really explain to her why you want her so badly” Jake said to me. I sat there rubbing my face with my hands and realized that Jake is right.
“Well that means that you have some explaining to do as well because this is about the both of us Jake; I will talk about it if you do” I said to him and he nodded. I saw Erin’s father walk into the room and sit down in one of the chairs next to us.
“I overheard that you were going to explain everything to our newest member so I thought I would join you and give her some insight on Erin from a father figure” He said which shocked me. I took a deep breath and started the long story.
“Erin’s father has always been my master and we have always been really close to one another; he told me that he had fallen for a human which wasn’t a big deal to me and I was happy for him. But a year and a half later I had gotten word that she was actually an angel. He told me that he would never see her again and I took his word and we went on like usual for at least five years. Then I found out that he had Erin; but he told me that he had no idea and has never seen her which raised some suspicion but I just let it go until Erin was nine years old and I caught him visiting her and her mother.” I said and the king cut in.
“Gates I told you that she is my fucking daughter! I am not just going to disown her! Well now I guess I have no choice but to force my hand but back then I had to see her and make sure that she had a little piece me in her powers” He said yelling at me.
“My apologies master; but when I found out that he had run off with Maria and Erin I had to step in. That is where Jake became my right hand man and he helped me force Maria and Erin down here. Erin was so young but she was a stunning child so full of power and life. And that is when her father came up with the plan to fake his death; you see he knew that Maria was an angel and that she couldn’t die so it was only right to do what we did. Erin ended up revealing that she teleported her best friend Hayley down with her. She watched both her parents die and watched me erase Erin’s memory. After she blacked out we sent her and Hayley to Nebraska and made sure that Hayley would never tell; but now the king is stepping down and he wants me to take his place” I said. Everyone was of course enticed by the topic.
“So what I would like to know though is how does Jake come into the equation” Meaghan asked.
“When Erin turned 20 she was actually starting to break down some barriers because she was a bit of a loner and some of the powers were starting to come through. I sent Jake up there to keep her distracted and happy and to make sure that it never came to her mind. He was really good at distracting her and it was perfect when he revealed that he was a Demon. But after she told her friend Hayley it took a turn for the worse and Jake got angry and Erin of course ran which leads to now” I said and she seemed like she understood what I was saying.
“Meaghan I spent a long time with Erin and she is a really sweet girl but she is a really strong person either way and she is so stubborn. We had a perfect thing going just like you and Zack and we both know that things fall apart. You are the perfect ally and I am glad to have you with me” Jake said stroking Meaghan’s cheek.
“How about you get to explaining why it is that you need Erin’s soul and want her as your Queen Gates” The king said loudly. He was getting rather irritated and I knew that the subject was really tough on him.
“First off there is no better person to be Queen than his own daughter because she is beautiful and tough and he can teach her the ways of ruling. Second when it comes to her soul I need to have it to obtain rights to channeling her powers. She has too many powers to count and I need then to rule down here….it may even lead to me taking over heaven as well…” I said and I saw Jake and Meaghan’s heads shoot up. I finally had their attention fully.
“Sir don’t you think that is taking it a little too far though?” Jake asked and I gasped because he usually was always on my side.
“No young one, it is the perfect plan….that way the angels will fall and we can take charge and reign over all…. I will finally get to deal with my wife.” The king said laughing evilly. This could work, we could make this happen. But first we just needed to fix the Erin situation.
“Thank you for agreeing with me master; I just need Jake and Meaghan to stay by my side during this. If we can get past Erin and get her soul then we can take over all” I said getting a little greedy for power. The king still seemed amused by the way I was smiling.
“How do you plan on taking Erin’s soul; she is strong and she has all the guys with her which makes this two times harder than it needs to be” Jake said to me; of course he was right.
“The guys are strong but I think that if we do this right and hit right at the weakness as in their wives we can get them to back down and just make this solely about Erin. She will fall and I will take her soul and drag her down here myself.
“I am with you till the end master; anything you need I will get you” Jake said which pleased me.
“I will also stand by you and Jake and do as you command; it is good to be needed and wanted and you both have treated me well and I thank you kindly for that” Meaghan said. Jake grabbed her hand and smiled at her and I too smiled. The king had gone into the other room leaving us to our conversation.
The King’s P.O.V
I was pacing back and forth in my chambers thinking of Papa Gates plan to get Erin’s soul and how after he would like to take down heaven as well. I was retiring and it was none of my business but I would love to see Maria one last time. I am almost positive that Gates would kill after all the angels had fallen but I would want to be the one to take her down. Erin popped into my mind; her gorgeous green eyes, her long brown hair that was just like Maria’s; she definitely grew up to be beautiful. As I channeled her into my thoughts I could feel her and listen to her thoughts.
*My own father is pawning me off on demon scum…I can’t believe this. I cannot get over this… I grieved over his death and then for what…just to find out that it was a fucking lie! He can rot. I have a great family now. I am an angel and a vampire first…demonic ruler my fucking ass; I have felt enough pain for a fucking lifetime and I am so done with this* She thought to herself which her bad attitude in returned pissed me off.
“You ungrateful little girl…you think that you have felt enough pain…well realize that I can make you feel ten times worse without even being around you physically.
Erin’s P.O.V
My thoughts were making me crazy… I just couldn’t bear to think about the fact that my father was a piece of shit and only made my life worse. What an asshole; how could he let someone inflict that much pain on me. Just then I felt a little odd….almost like I couldn’t breathe. It almost felt like I wasn’t in control of my body. Just then I felt myself walk out of my bedroom and downstairs. I kept moving and Zack and everyone just jumped out of their seat.
“Please help me I can’t stop” I said and just then I started sprinting across and over to Brian’s house. I didn’t understand what the fuck was happening to me until I was in Michelle and Brian’s bedroom and I was staring at Papa Gates blade…the same one that disabled me the last time. I picked it up despite the fact that I didn’t actually want to and everyone ran into the room. Just then guess who appeared…my father.
“You are such an ungrateful daughter….I tried to make a life for you and what do you do? You spit in my face. Let’s see if you can come back from this blow my dear; guys I hope that your boss permits use to use your resurrection gift...And by the way you have 4 more days...better hope she can battle or this could be really easy for us” He said and disappeared. I was confused; what the hell did he mean?
Before I could say anything to anyone I put both hands on the blade and jammed it right into my stomach….all under the control of my father……
