Chapter 16: Be My Harlot
Erin’s P.O.V
It was a long day and I just wanted to have a relaxing night in front of the television. I sat on the couch with Hayley and we were icing each other’s legs after fighting all day long. We sat there watching the Walking Dead on AMC. I sat there just smiling but Hay was just sitting there frightened of the zombies. I laughed at her because it was really sweet. I sat there dozing into my own thoughts when I realized yeah I have gifts…but I haven’t channeled them and had no idea what they were. Maybe this was a good time to use that thought to call on my mom. I sat there just thinking of her.
“Erin; are you okay” Hayley asked me a little weirded out by what I was doing. I still sat there in silence and then all of the sudden I felt Hay jump. I opened my eyes and my mother was here; she was really and honestly. I wonder if Papa Gates was watching me and could feel her presence since he feared her so much. She sat down in the recliner and smiled. I paused my show.
“Erin sweetie; what did you need?” My mom asked me sweetly.
“I realize that I have all of these gifts and I am powerful but I am not 100% sure what all those gifts are and how I am going channel them; it’s different since I am not letting Papa Gates take down any barriers.” I said trying to relax so Zack didn’t run over here.
“First off I just want to say that Hayley you look so gorgeous honey; you really grew up to be a stunning young woman; second, Erin I can guide you through some of them if you really want me to help you with this honey” She said making both of us smile. I sat there just trying to wrap my mind around the different gifts and the responsibilities that are going to come with them. But none the less I really need to figure all of them out for tomorrow.
“What all have you been able to do so far my dear?” She asked me getting down to business.
“I know for a fact that I can teleport, read thoughts, strength and I can heal but that is all I know as of today; sometimes I feel a spark in my hands but I usually just shrug it off cause I think it’s static electricity” I said to her and she smiled and laughed a little bit.
“Oh honey there is a lot that you don’t know; can you do me a favor and get Zack over here for me?” She asked sending me into shock that she actually wanted to meet him. I nodded and texted him.
*Hey honey; can you come over here, I have someone that I want you to meet* I waited for about five minutes and he knocked. I ran over to the door and opened it and smiled and he kissed me. I pulled him inside and he froze when he saw the woman sitting in my living room.
“Well Erin; he looks like a wonderful man. And it is great that he is an angel” She said getting up and walking over to him making him a little nervous. I just laughed a little.
“Zack I would like you to meet my mother Maria” I said and he just looked super shocked. She put her hand on his shoulder and he felt a little more at ease.
“Hi; it is a pleasure to meet you; Erin was so happy when she came back to us because she got to see you. She loves you and misses you everyday” Zack said making me blush a little. I sat there ecstatic because she was really getting along with him. She sat down and motioned for us to sit down as well and we did.
Hayley's P.O.V
I was completely shocked seeing Erin's mom down here especially since the two of us watched her mom and dad get killed. But Erin did mention that her mom was like THE angel or something. I sat there trying to keep busy so I was texting Matty; it was awkward at first him being Zack's brother but he was a real sweetie and I liked him. I sat there spacing out but Erin seemed to need my attention.
"Earth to Hay Hay; are you still with us over there" She asked me laughing. I giggled because she hasn't called me Hay Hay in a really long time. Zacky just sat there with a weird look on his face after Erin said that to me.
"Okay so Zack you seem confused; Erin and I have been friends a really long time and back in the day instead of saying hello or hi she just yells or say Hay Hay instead because it's a way of saying hello and my name all in one" I said and he finally got it and just started laughing.
"So what do you need from me exactly" I asked changing the subject off of my name. Erin just snapped back to reality.
"Actually dear I want to know what you saw and heard while you were down there with Papa Gates and Jake" Erin's mom asked me. I sat there and just went through my memories and thoughts and it scared me to have to walk through some of them. I sat there and pulled my hair up into a ponytail and prepared myself for this.
"Well first off; I watched you and Erin's father get killed. That was so not a walk in the park for me since I am the only normal person in the room. I have seen everything that Papa Gates and Jake can do even though they have not told me the plan to steal Erin's soul. But I do remember one thing that Jake and Papa Gates were fighting about." I said thinking back.
"What were they fighting about?" Zack asked really into what I was saying. I think that he wanted to make sure that Erin was going to be safe. I saw Erin's face change and she looked like she was freaking out about something.
"Erin; what's wrong?" I asked her and moved close to her and rubbed her arm.
"I need to tell everyone about something that happened while we were at the bar the other night" She said and Zack kind of shot up a little because I think he had a little bit of an idea of what was
going on.
Erin's P.O.V
I was so nervous to tell them what happened the other night. I kind of kept it from Zack because I was afraid to say anything. I took a deep breath and just looked at Zack.
"So the other night when I went out to get some air Papa Gates showed up unexpectedly like usual" I said and Zack came closer to me a little worried.
"Erin you have to tell me what he said to you; I could feel everything and that is not normal for you" He said to me and I just tried to stay strong with telling him this.
"Well" I said but then got cut off by a loud knock on my door. I went and opened it and who was it; no other than Papa Gates.
"What are you doing here?" I asked and he pushed me out of the way and stopped when he saw my mother sitting in the living room. My mother stood up and just glared at him.
"What the hell is she doing here; this isn't possible" Papa Gates said with a bitter tone and my mom just started laughing.
"What's wrong Gates; did you see a ghost? You didn't fucking forget that I'm an angel did you" She said making me sit there in shock. He walked over to her and didn't smile; they just sat there staring at each other.
"Now why is it that you are here Gates?" She asked backing up and she walked over to me. Papa Gates smiled as he saw me and my mother side by side.
"She always did take after you more than her father; she looks almost exactly like you Maria which makes me want her more than ever" He said and I of course tensed up a lot knowing what he said to me last night.
"Oh my dear; you haven't told them about what I said to you the other night did you" He said looking at me. I walked forward.
"I was about to before you rudely interrupted me" I said getting a little bit of an attitude.
"What the hell does he mean when he says that he wants you" Zack asked looking at me and at Papa Gates. Papa Gates just looked at me and gave me this evil smile.
"The other night he said that not only does he want my soul; but he wants me to be his queen" I said and the whole room went silent. I sat there trying to not get too upset.
"Over my dead body Papa Gates" Zack said coming forward. My mother grabbed my hand.
"I think that is an appropriate sentiment Zack" She said. I sat there just looking at him in disgust.
"Maria I will have your daughter one way or another; if she isn't bound to Zack then she is fair game and I want her; she has the potential to be a way better ruler than her own father. All of the sudden I felt sick to my stomach. RULER? MY FATHER? WHAT? I hunched over taking deep breaths. My mother rubbed my back and I ran to the bathroom and threw up from hearing everything.
So my mother is THE ANGEL
My Father RULED down there...
Papa Gates wants me to be his Queen and be bound to him...
And here I am in love with Zack and just wanting to lead a normal life!!!
