Chapter 1: The New Girl of the Neighborhood
I finished unpacking all of the stuff from the boxes that I could get from Nebraska to California which was minimal. Lucky for me my uncle takes care of money for me and bought me this house and stocked it with furniture and food. I went upstairs to my room and saw the king size bed. It was totally white and there was a note from my uncle attached to the pillow.
Welcome to California Erin. I made sure that everything you need is here. I will always be here for you and good luck as you start your new life baby girl!

I sat down on the bed and sighed heavily becoming really drowsy. I lied back but then there was a loud knock on the front door. I groaned and got up and ran down the stairs. When I opened the door a semi short man with a mohawk stared at me with a large smile. With him was a woman with shoulder length brown hair. I smiled.
"Hi we saw that you just moved in and wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood. My name is Johnny and this is my wife Lacy we live two houses to the left from you" He said. I shook both of their hands.
"Hi there guys my name is Erin Williams and I just moved here from Nebraska; do you guys want to come in and have some coffee?" I asked trying to make them like me so that there are no issues. They both nodded and came inside looking around at all the band merch that I had and my mass amount of guitars.
"I see that you are really into music Erin; Johnny is actually in a band so I think you two will get along" Lacy said. Johnny's eyes brightened when he saw my row of Avenged Sevenfold posters. He turned around and gave me a huge smile.
"I see that you are an Avenged Sevenfold fan?" He said chuckling a little.
"They are my weakness; I can't get enough of their music. They are just so original and raw and they have so much power in their lyrics. I learned to play guitar to Seize the Day and now I just seem to have a lot of guitars. I also cannot help but sing to the songs" I said a little embarrassed yet gave a big cheesy smile. But then I realized my own stupidity. I was talking to the one and only Johnny Christ! I sat there for a moment and then just laughed at myself.
"I am so sorry; I really just noticed who I was talking to; I really love your bass playing! I want to someday learn to play" I said shaking my head a little and smiling.
"It's alright; at least you aren't one of the fans that like to freak out when they meet us. I would actually love to introduce you to the rest of the band. Would you want to have dinner with us tonight at say 8?" Johnny asked and I froze a little.
"I think that is a yes in girl code. Erin if you want you and I can go shopping and we can find you something to wear! It will be fun" She said giving me a warm smile welcoming me into her world. I agreed of course.
"Yeah of course that sounds like fun" I said. Johnny smiled and left us so that I could get ready to go shopping with Lacy. I changed into some white shorts and a blue tank top with a lace back. I threw on some white vans and grabbed my sunglasses and purse. We got into her SUV and went down to the strip mall and walked around for about 2 hours until we found a really cute boutique. We sat there browsing the dresses. She stopped and smiled at me. I had the look of confusion across my face. She pulled this black knee length dress from the rack. It was fitted and had a lace neckline that tied in the back. She turned it around and I noticed that it was semi backless. I went and tried it on and came out and she sat there smiling and clapping. We got some black stilettos to match the dress and then I bought a silver clutch just to give it a little color. After we paid for everything we went to her house and she did my hair and makeup for me. She curled my hair and we did some pinup eyeliner and I slipped into the new dress and made sure that everything sat just right. Lacy finished changing. She was wearing red knee length dress that was strapless and she teased her hair a little. We grabbed everything and went downstairs and Johnny sat there in awe. He and Lacy kissed and we left to meet the men for dinner.
It was a really nice place but wasn't too fancy. When we arrived I saw a blonde girl run and hug Lacy and a tall buff man give a high five to Johnny; I just sat there unsure of what to do.
"Who is this stunning woman that you have with you guys?" The tall man asked with piercing hazel/green eyes. Johnny smiled.
"This is Erin Williamson; she lives in our neighborhood. Technically you live five houses down from her. Erin this is Matt or M. Shadows. And that is his wife Valary" Johnny said. Val came over and hugged me.
"You can call me Val sweetie" She said letting go. Matt hugged me as well and smiled.
"Come on over and meet everyone else!" He said playfully and grabbed my hand walking me over to the other band members.
"Hey everyone this is Erin Williamson; she actually lives in our neighborhood" Matt said while he and Val along with Johnny and Lacy sat down. First up was a really lanky and curly haired man. He was with this cute girl with blondish brown hair. They both came over and gave me a hug together.
"Hi there I am Arin and this is my wife Kim; we are so excited to meet you; welcome to our family!" Arin said to me and then sat back down. Next a tall man with black hair that was propped up with gel and buzzed on the sides. He came over with his girl who looked a lot like Val. She had brown hair though and it was longer. They both hugged me as well. I guess the Avenged Sevenfold gang are a bunch of huggers.
"Erin my name is Synyster Gates but you can call me Brian since I am off stage. This is my wife Michelle" He said giving me a warm smile.
"Are you and Val related?" I asked giggling a little and I heard everyone laugh.
"Val and I are twins so yes; I will save you a seat next to me" She said and then hugged me and her and Brian sat back down. Last was another man with black hair as well but his was shorter on the top compared to Brian's and it was shaved more around the head. The hair was slicked back and to the side a little which was pretty hot. They were all good looking guys but he was especially appealing to me for some reason. His eyes were what caught my attention because they were a bright green. He got up with a blonde girl who was tiny like me. The man hugged me but his girl did not.
"Hi my name is Zacky Vengeance but just call me Zack or Zacky" He said and got cut off by his girlfriend.
"Hey I am Meaghan his girlfriend" She said cozying up to Zack more almost like she was trying to protect him. I was confused because I wasn't trying to do anything. I just smiled really big and was excited to meet everyone. I sat down next to Michelle and was startled when I realized that Zack was on the other side of me but then I calmed down and just continued on with the night because I wasn't going to let a guy interrupt my life. After the boys went over tour stories and their roles in the band it was my turn to let them know a little about me.
"Okay so I am a really laid back girl; I spend my time playing the guitar because I love it. I sing in the shower and am in love with going to concerts. I am from Nebraska and moved here from a series of unfortunate events and so far I love it here and am so glad to have me all of you" I said becoming a little shy.
"Oh and I am obsessed with my hair; and sometimes I can be really weird and hyper" I said laughing. Everyone laughed and smiled as we all drank. After a few hours of conversation and hearing more about me and their band life everyone decided that it was time to call it a night.
"Alright so who wants to take Erin home?" Matt asked. I sat there wondering why they were talking about who was going to take me home.
"I will since I live right next door to her" Zacky said speaking up and grabbing his keys out of his pocket.
"Well I am just going to grab a cab and go home" Meaghan said grabbing her stuff and storming out once again leaving me confused by her actions. Was I really that bad of a person? I just shrugged it off and all of the guys hugged me and Zack and I walked to his car. After a silent drive home he pulled into his driveway and ran over opening my door for me. We stood there for a moment.
"So would you maybe want to come inside?" He asked smiling. I shook my head.
"No thanks it has been a really long day; but thanks for the offer" I said and was turning to leave.
"Well maybe tomorrow you can come to the beach with all of us" Zack said smiling and I nodded. He swung his arms around me squeezing me tightly. He sat there for a moment and I heard him inhale deeply. I broke from the hug and smiled.
"I will see you tomorrow Zack; just come on in tomorrow and get me when you guys are leaving for the beach" I said and then turned around and walked to my house next door. I unlocked the door and looked over and smiled and sighed and went into the house. I sat down with my back against the door and smiled.
I knew that this chapter of my life was going to be better. Nothing could take my happiness away this time. I knew that I was free from my past; free from Jake
