“Sanders, you have a visitor,” The guard told me with his booming voice, when I didn’t respond he spoke again “It’s a girl, bright red hair?” I shot up and moved out of my cell that he had opened for me and allowed him to lead me to where we saw visitors, I couldn’t believe she was actually coming to see me.
I saw her as soon as I walked into the room, she was sitting on the other side of the glass, we came in here when it was one on one visits so I knew she was alone, she looked gorgeous. I sat down on my side of the glass and picked up the phone, gesturing for her to do the same, she did, hesitantly though. She looked amazing, her hair was full of volume and glowing, she was glowing all over, it was obvious she was pregnant since she had already started to show a little, being more rounded and her boobs were bigger already too.
“Hey,” I breathed into the phone.
“Hi Matt,” She said, her voice breaking slightly, but she cleared her throat before speaking again “Long time no see,” She said with a chuckle, it wasn’t anything close to her real laugh but it made me feel warm inside.
“You got my letter?” I asked, she nodded slowly.
“I did, but it didn’t explain anything, which is why I’m here,” She took a deep breath “Why Matt, why did you do it?”
“Which part?” I asked, she sighed and gave me the ‘really Matt?’ look “Alright, all of it?” She nodded. “Alright, well, that girl, she used to just be a fling, a booty call, I’ve never cared about her, never did and never will, she used me for everything, the money, the gifts, but that all ended before I met you, and then, like I said in my letter I found out everything about you was all a lie and I got pissed, I needed to take my mind off of you, so I went to her,” Iana had tears in her eyes and was clearly trying her hardest not to cry.
“You lied to me Matt, you promised that everything would be okay. What about the nights when we would lie awake and talk about getting away from it all? Moving far, far away from everyone where we could be safe and alone together?!” She started to sob “I thought you loved me-“
“I do love you!”
“But you ran to that… that… whore when something went tits up and then stole an engagement ring for her, after promising that we would be together forever!”
“We are going to be together forever, I told you, nobody will ever hurt you again,” I told her.
“Bullshit Matt, you said that time and time again, and I got hurt, no, raped, over and over again, your promises were empty, you didn’t mean them, but Zacky does, and he has promised to take care of the baby,” She placed a hand over her bulging stomach and smiled slightly “And it’s going to have nothing to do with you,”
“But I’m the father!” I yelled.
“No, a father is the man who raises the baby, he didn’t have to make it, and after knowing who you really are, you won’t get anywhere near me or the baby,” She spat, venom oozing from her words.
“Like hell I won’t! you are mine and that baby is mine!” I yelled.
“Go fuck yourself!” She yelled back, slammed the phone down, stood and stormed away, back out of my life, because I fucked up… again.
