What I Didn't Expect
The Barbecue
Cassie's P.O.V.
I was in my room, after a few hours of crying. I was about to get up and go downstairs but someone knocked on the door. I got up and opened the door. Ah great! Now I have to deal with him.
I didn’t want to see him or talk to him but I had to.
“Hey is everything okay?” Zacky asked
“Yeah I’m fine” I lied
“Matt wanted me to come see if you were alright. But you run up crying so don’t expect me to believe that you’re fine”
“No I wasn’t crying, Zacky. I just wasn’t feeling very well so I went to my room” I lied again. I didn’t know him that much but I didn’t like lying to him.
“So I’m going home. I’ll see you later” ‘Finally’ I thought to myself.
“Okay bye”
We went downstairs, he went over to the door and I wen in the living room; where Matt was lying on the couch. I went over to him and sat on his stomach. He groaned, so I got up. He opened his eyes and said; “Are you feeling better?”
“Yeah, I’m feeling better” he looked at me; giving me the ‘are-you-sure?’ look. I just nodded and sat next to him when he sat up. I looked around the room; wondering where the other guys went.
“Where’s Alex and the guys?” I asked
“They went home to get ready for the barbecue” he replied
“I wanted to ask you something before summer ends”
“Go ahead”
“Okay, so I wanted to know if you ever went to school” I wasn’t surprise at all when he asked me that
“No I never went to a real school because they was tutoring me when I was at the orphanage.”
“Are you done with school or…”
“I’m not done. I have one more year left”
“So I think I’m gonna put you in this school not far away from here” when he said that my heart stared pounding . I was going to school this year for the first time in my life! I was so happy and excited!!!
“Oh thank you, Matt! I’m already excited for this” I squealed, jumping up and down; giving him a tight hug. He laughed and returned the hug.
“Okay okay. Now go get ready for the barbecue. I want you to meet the girls.” You could’ve saw that by the moment these words left his mouth, I wasn’t smiling anymore. By ‘the girls’ he meant Michelle, Leana, John’s ‘friend’ and Gena.
“Okay” I murmured; not liking the idea. I was about to go upstairs when Matt stopped me
“I also have a surprise for you” he said, grinning
“Really? What is it?” I asked, getting excited again.
“Oh, can’t tell you. Go get ready! You’ll see later”
I ran to my room, going over to the bathroom. When I got there I quickly stripped down my clothes to nothing. I went in the shower; washing my body and hair. I got out , took a towel and wrapped it around myself. I got dress, put some make up on and did my hair. ‘I look pretty good today’ I thought to myself. I put my flip flops on before going to the kitchen to get through the backyard where all the people were. The moment I put my foot on the grass all the guys stared whistling, even Zacky; who got hit by a girl that I guessed was Gena. I rolled my eyes at her and went over to Alex.
“Hey girly, you look sexy!”
“Thanks, you don’t look bad yourself” I looked at her outfit again, seeing that she was a little too dressed up.
“Someone’s looking good for someone that I know” She chocked when I told her that
“How do you know that?”
“The way you look at him, laugh at his jokes, smile when he whispers God knows what to you!” I told her in a ‘it’s obvious’ voice. She glanced over at me but said nothing. She knew that I was right, she knew that she couldn’t lie to me.
“I know that you’re looking cute for someone too” she said after a while, smirking.
“And can you tell me who is it?”
“Stop playing, Cass. It’s Zacky!”
“Baby girl!” I felt someone wrapped their skinny arms around my waist. I turned around, looking at Jimmy. “I want you to meet someone special to me” he said, unwrapping his arms around my waist and wrapped them around a girl’s stomach. “Cassie this is Leana my girlfriend, Leana this is Cassie; Matt’s daughter” he introduced. She smiled and I did the same.
“Hi, nice to finally meet you, Cassie” she said
“Hey, same here” I said
“Cassie can you come over here please?” Matt asked. He was talking to two girls.
“Coming!” I called back. I gave Alex, Leana and Jimmy and apology smile before going over to Matt.
“Cassie this is Gena and Scarlett and girls this my daughter Cassandra” He said
“Hey Cassie I’m Scarlett. Is it okay to call you that?” She asked a little too excited. I giggled
“Yeah it’s okay. I guess that you’re Gena.”I said, putting a fake smile on my face.
“Yeah. So you’re the Cassie that Zacky can’t shut up about?” I blushed and said “I guess”. I walked over to one of those long chairs by the pool and sat down. Scarlet followed me and Gena went over to Zacky.
“So how are you today? How is it with Matt? Do you feel comfortable?” I laughed
“I’m fine. Matt is a good dad but I don’t feel comfortable calling him ‘dad’ or ‘daddy’ yet and what do you mean by ‘do you feel comfortable?’”
“I mean like do you feel at home?”
“Not 100% but I could say yes” I said, getting up “I’m going for a swim, are you coming?”
“Yeah of course. It’s so hot today” I stared taking my shirt and shorts of; leaving me in my swimsuit. I walked inside to get two towels for me and Scarlett. I got the towels, went in the kitchen to get a bottle of water and went outside again. I put the towels on the chair that I was sitting on earlier, went over to the pool with Scarlett; where Jimmy, Johny and Zacky were already there and got in. The water wasn’t cold but it wasn’t hot either. I stared walking deeper in the water; ending up were the guys were. Matt came back from inside with burgers, steaks… He put them on the grill, took his shirt off; stared walking over to the pool and got in. he splashed me and I did the same thing. Everyone in the pool started splashing each other, when I suddenly felt someone pilled my foot under the water; causing me to fall back into it, screaming. I got back to the surface and saw that it was Jimmy who pulled me under the water earlier.
“James Sullivan” I said, clenching my teeth. He stared running, yelling for Leana to help him but she just laughed. I started running after him, when the doorbell ringed. I stopped chasing after Jimmy and turned to look at Matt; wondering who the fuck it was. He got out of the pool, smirking.
“Your surprise is here!” he said, little too excited for my opinion, that it scared me. He saw the look on my face and said “don’t worry, you’re going to like it”
He went inside to open the door for ‘my surprise’, while I went to sit on the long chair again with Scarlett. I closed my eyes for a moment. When I opened them I saw Matt standing in front of me with Jane by his side.
“Oh hey-JANE!”I squealed, excited to see her again. I jumped on her, wrapping my legs around her waist and my arms around her neck. “I can’t believe you’re here!” I got to my feet again and gave her a tight hug. I went to sit back on the chair with Jane on the other side.
“It’s nothing. Matt texted me this morning telling me that he was having a barbecue and that I was invited. And here I am; with my little daughter that I love and already miss”
“I love you too. You said that like I was a little kid or something”
“What are you? Aren’t you a little kid?”
“No I’m not! Sorry Jane this is Scarlett, Johny’s girlfriend, Scar this is Jane, she’s like a mother to me” I introduced them to each other. “This is Michelle Brian’s girlfriend, Gena Zacky’s girlfriend and Leana Jimmy’s girlfriend.” I said, pointing to each one of them
“Food is ready” Matt announced everybody got up to get some food. I got my food and went to the table that Matt put outside this morning. Everyone started making small talk while eating.

We were in the living room; when I said 'we' I meant everyon: Matt, Jane, Leana, Scarlett, Zacky, Michelle, Gena, Johny, Brian, Jimmy and me, watching TV. Matt was sitting next to Jane on the love seat, Leana, Scarlett, Zacky and I were sitting on the couch, and Michelle, Brian, Jimmy, Gena, Johnny were on the floor. Michelle was next to Brian cuddling, next to them were; Jimmy, Jonny and Gena. Gena's back was lying on the couch's front; between Zacky's legs. Matt put a scary movie and got back to his seat. We started watching 'Orphan'. I was getting tired so I got closer to Zacky to lay my head on his shoulder but Gena got up.
"I'm going in the kitchen. Will you come with me?" She asked, looking at Zacky. He just nodded, getting up and going in the kitchen.
"Why are you so close to her? You never cuddle with me! What's wrong with me, Zacky? Tell me!" I heard her say
Was she talking about me?
Was she jealous of me?
"What are you talking about? I wasn't even touching her! And yes we do cuddl sometimes!"
"Yes, you used to when we were a real couple. What did I do wrong? Why me?" I started feeling bad for her "It's all because of her!" She screamed. She came back in the living room, anger, pain, and hatred in her eyes. She glared at me, and took her purse. "I'm leaving! Bye!" She yelled, again.
"Gena wait-"
"You can stay here with your little slut"
"Excuse me? What did you say" Matt interrupted, getting up.
"You heard me, Matt. Zachary can stay here with his little slut" she repeaded herself.
"Don't you dare call her that!" Zacky said
"Get out, Gena. Get out of my house!" Matt said, getting angry and boring by her words. She just opened the door and slammed it beyind her. 'That was a long day' I thought in my head. I got up and said;
"I'm going to sleep" I annonced
"If it's because of what Gena said. Don't" Jimmy said.
"No, I'm actually tired. Jane you're sleeping here tonight right?"
"I don't know-"
"Yes she is" Matt confirmed
"Okay. Good night everybody! I'll see you tomorrow" I got up and went upstairs. I got in my room and dropped myself on the bed; not bothering to change into my pajamas.

I was hooked then BAM! No update :(
