What I Didn't Expect
The beginning

But I left her when I found her and now I wish I'd stayed

I sang to the lyrics of the song as they played in her room at the orphanage. My name is Cassandra Johnson. People say that I'm pretty but I don't think so. I have long reddish brown hair and chocolate brown hazel eyes. I am thin but I think it fits me perfectly. I was interrupted when I heard a knock on the door. " Come in" I yelled for the person to come in. I stopped the music and turn around to see who it was.
"Hey Cassie, how are you today?"She asked. It was Jane. She works at the orphanage. She is the nicest person here to me after my friend Alexandra and Mrs. Gaspar (the lady who owns the place).
"Hey Jane,I'm fine and you?" I replied/asked . She never knock at my door unless its not something really important.
"I'm good. I came here to tell you that tomorrow will be a visit day" she told me softly. She didn't need to say that to me cause I already knew.
"Thanks for letting me know" I replied to her.
"Ok. So I'm going downstairs. I'll see you on lunch time" she said
"Ok see ya" She went downstairs and closed the door behind her.
I got up and went to the bathroom to take a shower. I stripped down my clothes to nothing and went in the shower. I let the warm water cascaded my body. I started washing my hair and body. When I was done I took my towel and wrapped it around me. I went over to my closet and looked for something to wear. I ended up wearing a jean dress, some blue flat, a blue heart necklace with a hole in the middle, a blue watch and some blue earrings.
When I was done getting dress I went to Alexandra's room.
I knocked and went inside. When I saw her, I gave her a tight hug.
"Hey Alex,how are you?" I asked when we pulled away. ‎Alex have long blond hair. She is really pretty. She got lots of curve which make her look really hot. She's really nice. She has been my friend since when I got here.
"Hey Cassie, I'm fine and you?"
"I'm good. Did you hear about tomorrow?"
"No why?"
"Tomorrow will be a visit day. Jane told me this morning"
"Un-fucking-believable"
I rolled my eyes at her and said "Watch your mouth, my dear"
This time it was her turn to roll her eyes at me. "Come on, it's just you and me" she patted the empty spot next to her telling me to sit down. I went over her bed and sat next to her.
"What are you going to wear tomorrow?"
"I don't know yet, what about you?"
"I don't know. Maybe my yellow sunny dress"
"Ok. Are you hungry?"
"Yeah I'm starving!"
"Let's go downstairs then." I got up and made my way to go downstairs. When we arrived at our destination, we went got on line. I took a sandwich and some apple juice. Alex got a hamburger, some fries and a can of coke. We went back to her room. We never eat downstairs cause we never talk to the other children here. When we got to her room I dropped my plate on her desk and started to eat. When I told her I was starving I really was.
"Wow you were really hungry" she told me. I didn't even bother to look at her, I just nodded. I finished my sandwich and drunk my apple juice. When I was done Alex wasn't done so I decided to go back to room.
"Al, I'm going back to room, I'll see you tomorrow" I hugged her again, kissed her cheek and went back to my room.

It was getting late and almost time for me to go to sleep. I went to the bathroom and started the shower. I stripped down to nothing and went in the shower. I washed my body. When I was done I took the towel and wrapped it around me. I put some pj's on and went back to my room. I got in the bed and started to think if someone will want me tomorrow will they love me. Will they care for me? Will they call me their daughter and be proud of me? All those thoughts were running in my head. And after that I felt myself drifting to sleep.
