Third Person's POV

Even thought the relationship between Brian and Michelle was over long ago, he still can't be feeling uncaring for her. Hearing her death was way shocking. In the beginning, both detectives and everyone thinks Michelle was behind all of this but now, she is dead. The guy who killed her must have been the one behind this. Michelle was just a piece in a game of chess.

The Haners arrived at the scene of crime, which is Michelle's house as fast as possible. When they arrived, they were joined by Valerie and Matt, as well as the detectives. They can see that inside this building, it is filled by all sorts of forensic technicians and polices.

"What happened?" Brian asked at the approaching cop.

"Brian, i am glad you came. Michelle's dead."

"I know she's dead but what happened?"

"Someone shot her. 2 bullets, one on her chest but the deadly one is to her forehead. Around her neck also have a bruise, showing a sign of getting choke out. We are suspecting it to be a homicide."

"Why suspecting? You should be sure cause someone shot her." Arianna said.

"Because next to her body was a letter. It seemed like a suicide but we knew for sure she didn't kill herself. The guy behind this killed her." James reply, confident.

"Why would he killed her though? She is like innocent." Arianna said. Despite their hatred towards each other, she feel sorry for her death.

"I don't know. We are looking further into this. We will keep you in contact." James said, about to turn around and back to work. However, Brian was able to grabbed his arm.

"Hey man, can we see that letter you were talking about? Just to see it."

"Here." He said, pulling out a clear plastic evident bag. "Just give it back." and he left.

On the letter, it's content made it look like a suicide, however they knew better that this man is using the dead body of Michelle, as a warning to the couple.

"Dear all,

I am probably gone by the time you found me. That's right, i decided to kill myself. I messed up. I messed up in the plan and failed to do my duty, and that's to get my Brian back. I know now that the cops will put me in the fucking jail. I am for no place like the jail cell, it will be like death to me, so I just took an earlier step to end my life. At least I die a free woman."


Both Haners silently read the letter. When they finished, they turned towards each other.

"I have a feeling this letter is not just used to deliver this message. By the way this fucker do his thing, he must have something, like a puzzle, hidden somewhere." Arianna said to her husband.

"I agree. But," he said, turning the bag around 360, checking for other writing, "there is not other writing or puzzles."

"There must be." That's when the light of the house suddenly shuts off, creating darkness.

Flashlights were immediately turned on, but because Brian was wearing an all black outfit, a forensic examiner, who was searching for blood stains, ran into him.

"Ouch." Brian said as he landed hard after running into the man, who landed a couple inches away from him.

"Sorry. I just can't see." The examiner said.

"It's alright." Brian told him as he got up, picking up the UV light for the man as he is doing so. Shining around to see other people, he shined it on the plastic bag of the floor.

He saw.... some letters.

"Arianna. I found the puzzle!" he exclaimed. He grabbed the bag from the floor and shine the UV light on it. He was able to catch a message.

"Con-fucking-gratulation on finding this. I know you Haners must've have a brain, to think or to have me to blow it up for you, just like how I did to Michelle. That useless bitch who thinks she can add help to me. I know you are not stupid to believe she killed herself. You should actually thank me Brian, I killed someone you hate for you. That's like a reward, right? If you don't want this happening to anyone around you, maybe you should consider doing me a favor in return. I am not asking you to steal, kill or kidnap. Just hand over a thing. Her name is Arianna. I just want her to be mine...mine. "

After the Haners and the examiner read this letter out loud, they were all shocked. For Brian, he can't believe what is happening. This man is insane. He is threatening him to hand over his wife or he will kill his other family member. He can't let him killed his dear son or father or lay a finger at his best friends. That's fucking rediculous. For Arianna, she is truely frightened to the bone. She can feel chills going down her spine. There's a stalker killing people out there to find her. She can be dead soon.

James slowly approached the couple.

"Hey, i got great news for ya. I know you got some for me too but I just want to say, we were able to find your dad about the kidnap thing."

"That's great." Brian said, half-heartedly. His mind drifted off to think about what he letter said. He knew for fact, one thing for sure and that's to never hand over his wife, Arianna. He must protect her from whatever happened to them... He also knew that this man will strike anytime soon, and for the past, they've been bossed around by him. Its now their time to recover and attack.

Sorry for the late update. I usually like to update everyday since waiting for a new chapter can be a pain sometime. Even though school only started a couple of days ago for me, it is already kicking my ass with loads of homework. I did actually wrote a chapter yesterday but it didn't turn out to be as good as I want to so I decided to update today since I have more time. So i will try my best to update and thanks for reading!!!
