A few days had passed since Maddie and Matt had gone to Zacky’s, and she had all but forgotten about Michelle staring at her. She’d spent all of that time at Matt’s and so today was going back to her apartment to clean and buy food. When she had finished the housework she went into town to the grocery store, she went in and started putting stuff in the cart absentmindedly, daydreaming about Matt. She was startled when her cart suddenly collided with someone else’s; the woman standing behind it was blond and very pretty.
“Oh my God I’m so sorry!” the other woman said, “I was completely out of it there” she said again giggling.
“Don’t worry so was I!” Maddie replied, “I had my head in the clouds.”
“Looks like we’re both a bit dippy at the moment then, I’m Val by the way.” They continued talking and made their way round the store together. When they had all their stuff packed up Val asked if Maddie wanted to get coffee with her, she agreed and they went to a coffee shop around the corner. They both sat down and started talking more.
“So where are you from Maddie, I’ve never seen you round before?” Val asked.
“I’m from Ohio but I just moved here. Are you an Orange County native?”
“I am indeed!” Val said laughing. She then suddenly turned a little green and excused herself before running to the bathroom. She came back a few minutes later, “Sorry about that, I keep getting really sick.”
“Ooh you know what that means!” Maddie said teasingly.
“I’m so not pregnant.” She replied. They continued talking for a while until Maddie’s phone buzzed, it was a text from Matt.
Are you nearly done? I miss you already
“I have to go sorry, boyfriend duty.” She said smirking. She and Val exchanged phone numbers and arranged to meet again. She then stood up and left, and drove quickly to Matt’s.

When she arrived it wasn’t Matt who answered the door, but Zacky.
“Oh, Hey!” Maddie said surprised.
“Hey there, how are you?” he replied as she came into the house.
“I’m very good thank you, how are you?”
“Great.” They continued chatting for a few minutes, Maddie couldn’t help but notice he was standing very close to her. This thought was interrupted however when Matt walked down the hall and kissed Maddie. Zack then left, saying goodbye, and leaving Matt and Maddie to themselves.
“So what do you want to do today Mads?” he asked flirtatiously.
“Hmm, I can think of something…” she said smirking. He then swiftly picked her up and kissed her forcefully and carried her to his bedroom.
