My Bloody Valentine

Drunk dancing and Hungover breakfast

For whatever reason footloose came on and filled the bar, and much to my surprise almost everybody got up and started dancing including Jimmy and Brian, that, I couldn’t not laugh at and I felt myself moving around to the music from behind the bar and Sally joined in with me, dancing and laughing and then the song changed into another song from Footloose 2011, Dance the Night Away and my eyes locked with Matt’s from across the bar.
“Go dance!” Sally shouted at me over the music, I looked at her confused “You can take your break now, go dance, seduce someone!” She laughed and served drinks, I took off my apron and made my way out to the dance floor and found Jimmy and Brian to slide myself in between the two. We were moving with the music and laughing, my hands in my hair and them with smirks on their faces, I noticed Matt and Zacky had joined us on the dance floor. The chorus kicked in and I moved over to one of the wooden poles and started moving against it, earning cheers from Sally behind the bar and a few people who were dancing too.
Matt came to me and pulled me to him, my back to his front as we moved with the music, my ass against his junk, which was hardening by the second, I turned around to face him and draped my arms over his shoulders, his hands on my hips and I let the music consume me completely, our faces were so close as we started into each other’s eyes and I felt myself being pulled even closer to Matt but before I could close the distance the song changed and I pulled away, I couldn’t do that, he was drunk and going through a breakup and I was working.
The last few hours of the shift went by fine, Matt wasn’t sobering up any and I could see myself having to give him a ride home, which sure enough, by the time last call came around he asked me to take him home since we lived so close to each other now, with only a small section of woodland separating my dad’s house and his dad’s.
“Come on you big drunken oaf,” I chuckled, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and mine around his waist as I walked him to my car.
“You’re pretty,” He hiccupped and poked my nose when I got into the car and started the engine.
“You’re drunk,” I corrected him as I pulled out of the lot, waving to Sally and Jay.
The drive to Mr Sander’s house was filled with Matt singing to the two songs that came on the radio, he was an amazing singer on stage and sober but in the car and plastered he was awful.
I got home after leaving Matt with his dad to find my dad sound asleep on the sofa with some files over his lap, I took them from him, closed them and set them on the table, putting the throw from the back of the sofa over him, taking his glasses out of his hand and turned off the TV before climbing the stairs to my room and passing out in my bed.
The morning came and after such a long shift it was surprisingly easy to get out of bed. I showered and dried myself, tying my hair in a loose ponytail and dressing in pale blue skinny jeans with a white t-shirt, white converse on my feet, pocketed my phone and some cash before running down the stairs.
“Morning Pops, sleep well?” I asked sarcastically as I poured myself a cup of coffee.
“Thanks kiddo, I fall asleep there a lot,” He sighed from his seat at the kitchen table and I told him not to beat himself up over it “You didn’t uh… read anything in those files last night, did you?”
“Of course not, if there was anything I needed to know you would have told me, It’s your work, not mine,” I finished my coffee and placed my mug in the sink “Speaking of which, I gotta go do my shift at Bert’s,” I smiled, kissed dad on the cheek and ran out the door while he shouted something about seeing me later, I didn’t hear much while running down the hall.
“You’re doing really great kid, keep it up,” Maureen, the older woman who was helping me out today sad as she came behind the counter to place an order, the bell above the door sounded, alerting us of someone coming in “You can get that one,” She smiled at me while nodding towards a table, where Matt and Brian now sat. I shook my head and smiled to myself and walked over.
“Mr Sanders, are you stalking me?” I asked with a smile as I pulled my note pad out of the pocket of my apron.
“Maybe I am, flattered much?” He smirked back.
“Touché” I chuckled “What can I get you guys?”
They gave me their order which was rather a lot for two guys and took it to their table when it was ready.
“What time do you get off?” Matt asked me as he gently grabbed my wrist as I walked past his table.
“Whenever you tell me to baby,” I winked before laughing with Brian when Matt flushed bright red “In about half an hour,” I smiled.
“Alright, well I’ll be waiting right here for you to come home with you, and you and your dad are invited over for dinner tonight,”
Charles’ P.O.V
This was getting ridiculous, the murders were getting closer to town and no one was any closer to catching the person responsible. They were horrible, women raped and murdered, families slaughtered and men killed inhumanly and we had been tracking them all, and the last was two towns over, we don’t have much longer.
“Hey dad!” Riles called as she walked into the house.
“In here!” I shouted from my little office under the stairs, I heard her footsteps and then she appeared at the door “What’s up baby girl?”
“We’re invited to the Sanders’ tonight for dinner, so get ready,” She smiled at me, closing the lid of my laptop and pulling me to my feet “Go,” She demanded, shoving me towards my bedroom before running up the stairs herself to get ready after her first shift at the diner.
I was so proud of my baby, sure, she’s had a tough life after everything that happened between her mother and I, but Fiona is a free spirit and likes to travel the world, but I wanted to settle in Huntington and raise a family, Riley was more like me, which I guess is why she’s back here in the first place. Most 21 year olds would be embarrassed to be moving back in with a parent and most parent’s wouldn’t be happy with their 21 year old daughter moving back into their house, but I couldn’t be happier, it was like having my little girl back all over again.
“Dad are you ready?” I hear Riley ask from down the hall, I called back that I would be out in a second, we were only going to Gary’s so I dressed in my usual t-shirt, checked shirt over the top and a pair of jeans with boots.
I left my room to see Riley standing at the door, texting away on her phone with a small smile on her face, she was dressed in something very similar to me.
“I just text Matt telling him we were on our way over,” She said as she slipped her phone into her pocket, her and Matt got along well I guessed and I was alright with that, if anyone in the whole of Huntington Beach was to snap up my only daughter, I would be so proud if it was my best friend’s son.
It was a nice night so we decided to walk through the small wooded area to the Sanders’ house, not five minutes later we were standing on Gary’s porch ringing the doorbell.
