My Bloody Valentine
What's troublin' ya?
I got to the house and the door was still locked, dad must still be down at the station. I made my way into the kitchen on the prowl for something to drink when a note on the kitchen table caught my attention.
Going to be gone late, something came up at the station, here’s some money for food and you can tell me about your day later on. Dad x
I smiled at the note before pulling out my phone and sending him a text saying I was working tonight, thanking him for the money, to have a good night at work and I would see him later.
I changed into black skinny jeans with the plain black t-shirt that had ‘Johnny’s’ on it, sitting right above my left breast, it was tight, so tight that my breasts were about to burst out of it, I untied my hair and let the blue waves fall down my back and over my shoulders, touched up my makeup and decided that it would do.
I got to the bar and there were already a few cars parked outside and I could hear the music from inside, I parked near the back of the building so that I could slide in through the back door just like Sally had texted me to do.
“Hey girl!” Sally yelled as I walked through the door “Put this on,” She threw a black apron that would tie around my hips and just cover my thighs at me.
“Thanks, need a hand?” I asked
“Just get out there and serve drinks while I restock,” She said with a smile and I saluted and headed out to hold the fort.
“Hey, you the new girl?” A male voice asked from the other end of the bar, I looked over to him as I poured a guy a pint and nodded “I’m Jay,”
“Riley,” I smiled and held my hand out for him to shake but he too pulled me in for a hug, but it wasn’t like the one’s I’d been getting since I got here, it was kind of gentle, but it made me feel uneasy as I hugged back lightly and awkwardly, his hands slid down my back and touched my ass causing me to freeze.
“Well sexy, you know where I am if you ever need anything,” He wiggled his eyebrows “And I mean anything,” I smiled and nodded my head, he winked at me and I turned around when a woman asked for a drink.
“Don’t worry about him, he’s harmless dude, he’s all talk,” Sally said into my ear as she walked past carrying a crate of beers.
“Sure, all talk…” I sighed to myself as I felt Jay’s eyes burning into the back of me.
An hour or so later and the bar was full, drinks were flowing and the music was thumping, I was proud of myself because although I couldn’t ignore Jay’s comments, his hands, the looks he gave me, I hadn’t messed up any orders, Sally was convinced I was a natural, but I’d had some practice. Suddenly, the door burst open and five guys piled in, everyone looked at them and then a few girls threw themselves at them, I knew it was Matt and the guys right away and I smirked and shook my head as I watched them, Matt didn’t seem to be enjoying the attention from fans though, he looked miserable.
Brian, Johnny, Zacky and Jimmy all went to sit at a table while Matt came over to the bar, not once had he looked up though so he hadn’t seen me.
“five shots of absinth, five pints and… fuck it, give me a half bottle of Vodka with that too,” He slammed a note down onto the bar and I leaned over.
“Something on your mind Mr?” I asked, making him jump and look at me, his face softened and he even smiled “What do you think?” I asked, holding my arms out at my sides and twirling around.
“Oh yeah, the whole bar maid thing looks good on you, totally gets me going,” He joked and I pouted “I’m kidding, you do look great though, and I guess you could say something’s bothering me,” He sighed and looked down again.
“Well it’s a bartender’s job to lend an ear, what’s troublin’ ya?”
“My girlfriend, I called things off with her tonight and I’m back to sleeping at my dad’s place,” I didn’t know what to say but by the look on his face it wouldn’t matter what I said, it wouldn’t help. I placed my hand lightly on his bicep and gave it a light squeeze and smiled before getting a start on making up his order.
