God Hates Us All

3. Slaying of an angel

Val was frightened beyond all measure. She'd come out of her coma with a sore head and at first thought that she had woken up with a migrane. Then fear had seeped in to boiling point when she slowly realised that there was a hood over her head... and she was tightly bound to some sort of stake.

The hood was a thin black cloth so she could sort of see what was going on, which made it all the more worse. She looked around in terror as she could make out 3 people sitting and watching her. The most ugliest, vile-looking people she had ever seen. One was a woman in a simple white nightdress, dead-looking eyes. Her face was worn, as if she had abused drugs for years and they took their toll. A man sat next to her; a blond, bespectacled, weedy looking man with his hair tied back in a ponytail. A child wandered around, couldn't have been more than 6 years old... dirty, uncared for. Her body bore the brunts of what Val was sure were a lifetime of beatings and abuse. Her audience of 3 shared one thing in common though- all 3 had looks of hatred and triumph in their eyes. Val immediately started sobbing- not just out of pure terror, but sympathy for the child: the child could not know any better.

The woman immediately ran towards Val and started beating her; Val screamed in pain as the woman plunged a pair of scissors into her hands. The man unlocked the chains holding Val- and just as quickly restrained her with cable ties before she hit the floor. The creep picked Val up as easily as if she were a rag doll and threw her against the wall. Both woman and man kicked, punched and scratched at val until she was reduced to a bleeding mess; screaming, she was picked up and chained back to the stake.

As the woman screamed abuse and obscenities at Val, the man licked his lips at her, leering. Val felt a new emotion: rage. Rage that these people had deprived her of her liberty for seemingly no reason at all, rage that these creeps didn't even have the decency to be gentle with her. Val began screaming again, trying to break free, but the chains were too thick. Tied on too tightly.

A bell tolled in the distance. The weird family in front of Val dropped to their knees, excited looks on their faces. Then the double doors opened. In came more people, who looked absolutely filthy. No concept of personal hygiene... or civilization, for that matter. All stared at Val, with looks of gloating on their face. Val stared right back with hatred; she now knew who these people were. The Right Hand of The Holy Trinity. The creeps who hid behind ultra-conservative religious beliefs to mask their appetite for exploitation and indulgence. Their leader, Reverend Michael Yahweh (his self-proclaimed name) uncovered as a calculating sociopath who, along with his followers, manipulated millions of dollars out of American taxpayers to fund their hidden extravagant lifestyles and their lust for children. After their undoing, they took all the millions they still had and fled the authorities, hiding in Texas. Michael himself happened to be in the room.

The fat, feminine-like form of Michael approached Val, glaring at her in a kind of vicious satisfaction. She stared back, unafraid, asking "what do you want of me?!"

Michael sneered at her before instructing one of his cohorts to set up a video camera. This the cohort did, setting up the lens trained right on Val. Michael began to speak, an appropriately sorrowful tone mixed with fake purpose:

"My fellow Christians, today is a step forward for our brethren. Here before us is one of Satan's children, Valary DiBenedetto. Her crimes against us good Christian people are numerous: aiding and abetting the Devil's orchestra known as Avenged Sevenfold. Living a sinful life. Not complying with demands set down by us righteous brethren to stop the music. Daring to challenge us through the multimedia outlets. And worst of all... Denying our righteous advances, content with the Devil's spawn known as Matthew Sanders.

I am here as a shepherd, as a servant of our great Father, Son and Holy Ghost, to begin waging war against this very world we live in. We must not stop until the "freedom" of America falls at our feet! We will take control of this nation of sinners, and we shall enforce people to live how we live... or die.

Valary Dibenedetto, I hereby sentence you to burn in Hell for eternity for all of your sins. Your merry band of cohorts will be joining you soon!!!!"

Valary cried through the whole thing, she knew what was coming. She was about to die, and not get to see her friends, her family... her Matt. Never seeing them again.

The creep in the spectacles who had tortured her earlier began pouring gasoline all over her body, starting from her head. Valary felt the cool liquid wash over her and felt a powerful emotion of sadness. She felt sad that these monsters were targeting everyone she loved, to fulfil their own selfish ends. The hated Michael stepped in front of her, sneering at her. Val stared back, tears pouring down her face. "You deserve to rot in Hell, Valary DiBenedetto!" Michael screamed as he struck a match and set Val alight.

Val thought she knew what pain was until this. This was pain and terror too much to behold. The crowd of fanatics watched her struggle and scream while burning, sadistic glee etched upon their faces, all of them whooping and hollering. Val took one last look at these monsters while she slowly died from the flames. As she took her last breath, she felt herself gently being lifted into the air...

Yeah I wanted to make Michael someone who is pure evil, no charm towards the audience whatsoever, someone who people just out-and-out hate on sight... villains in most media these days have some sort of charm, some sort of "anti-hero" charisma to them. I wanted Michael to just be repulsive.
