Alexandria's POV

In my deep sleep I heard the beeping sound of some machine. I slowly open my eyes to the blinding light. Surrounding me were a bunch of equipment. It seems like I am in a hospital.

Ignoring my aching headache, i turned around to find a man so familiar at my bedside. He is Jeremy.

"X, you scared the shit outta me." My brother said, almost as if he is going to cry. The last time he cried was like seven when he fell off his bike.

"J, i am fine," at least i think i am. I just don't know what brought me into this hospital. Something must've happened. Something serious since all these things are attached to my arm.

Next to Jeremy was a man. I think I know him. I just don't know who he is. He is rather familiar.

"and this is...?" I asked Jeremy, pointing at the man behind him.

I can tell that this questioned made the man's face fall, as if I said something hurtful towards him. I don't even know who he is and why he is here. Hell, i don't even know why I am here.

"That's Zacky, your boyfriend."

My boyfriend? I don't even remember him. Well, at least, i don't think I know him.

"Oh..." I said, a little confused.

"Why am i here?" I asked Jeremy after a devastated Zacky left the room.

"You... you don't remember, do you?"

"I just knew I woke up and I am here with a fucking headache." I touched my head, feeling the bandages that are wrapped around it.

I was about to questioned Jeremy about my bandages when a middle-aged man, a doctor, walked into the room.

"Good to see you awake. How are ya feeling? I am Doctor Samson by the way."

"Fine. My headache is killing me."

"We will give you some painkillers since you just came out of surgeries not too long ago."

"Surgeries? What did i do?"

"Yes surgery. You got in a fatal accident and we need to remove and stop the bleeding in your brain. That's why you got all these equipment and cuts all over you."

"Oh."

"Do you know your name by any chance?"

"Alexandria Renee Brennan."

"Correct. Are you having any difficulties remembering anything?"

"Well, the man. I believed his name is Zacky. J said he is my boyfriend."

The doctor didn't say anything. He stood there thinking before asking Jeremy to step outside and he went with him.

Third Person's POV

The doctor came out of Alexandria's room along with her brother. He also called forward Zacky.

"What's going on doc? She doesn't remember me anymore. Why is that happening?"

"It seems like Alexandria has a case of Amnesia. Retrograde Amnesia, to be exact. This is the aftermath of the crash. If she is lucky, all her memory will slowly returned, but sometimes, in some other cases, patients never got their memories back."

"How can i help her to get her memories back?" Zacky asked, desperate. He is so devastated at the fact that Alexandria didn't remember anything about him or his existence in her life. He loved the woman so dearly. It scares him to think he will lose her.

"Well in some cases, memories will come back naturally. However, in others, patient will receive bits and pieces of their past by showing them some pictures. It is less likely for her to remember what had happened to her recently rather than her childhood. So don't get upset at her not remembering anything. Her hippocampus is damaged. Not her fault."

They both nodded.

"Now, i am going to go back and gave Alexandria a check-up. You can stay here to visit her later on."

The doctor then returned to the room.

Jeremy turned to Zacky. Even though they only knew each other for a couple of hours, they felt like they are friends.

The older man patted the younger man's back.
"It's okay, don't be upset. I am sure she will remember you. In a heartbeat."

Zacky nodded, feeling as if his world just collapsed on top of him at this news. What if she never remember him? What happen now between us?

"Thanks man. Appreciate it."

The two of them took seats waiting for the doctor to finished his check up.

Sitting there, many things crossed Zacky's head. He knew it will scares her to approached her as if they are still lovers, however, she is the woman he truly loves beside Gena who he divorced. He knew that even if he feels like shit about the fact that Alexandria doesn't remember him, he still got to be strong and help her remember shit.

Moments later, the doctor came back out.

"She is perfectly fine except for the Amnesia. It's all up to you two gentlemen and herself to get her memories back. She can leave the hospital next week.'

"Thanks doc."

Alexandria's POV

Outside the door, i can hear Doctor Samson telling Zacky and Jeremy my condition. It seemed like i totally forgot anything that happened. Something Amnesia. I should be able to remember things.

Even though i hardly remember Zacky, i knew it is hard for him, since he WAS my boyfriend. I am trying to hard to remember everything. I just can't. I feel like crying.

A while later, Doctor Samson came back in and gave me a routine check-up. At the end of it, i decided to ask him about my condition.

"Doc, why can't I remember Zacky?"

"You just substained a horrible accident with horrible head trauma. You have Amnesia. Which means you can't remember things prior to the accident. You may remember the older things, that's why you remember your brother Jeremy, but you forgot the recent things, like Zacky."

"Why am i doing that? I am trying so hard to remember everything but it's not helping."

"Don't blame yourself, sweetie. I know it's hard but don't give up. Someday you will remember everything."
