It’s been a week since Jimmy’s birthday and the graduation party, like was amazing, I had amazing friends, family, and an amazing boyfriend and to top that all off I had an amazing baby coming in just over a month.
Tonight the guys were playing their first big show outside of Huntington, they were playing at some venue in Anaheim, they had to set off this afternoon to get set up but I had things to do with Rosie and the baby before I went to watch the show.
Jimmy: When are you leaving baby? X
Me: I’m just about to leave, Rosie and Emmet just dropped Ava off at Rosie’s mom’s and went to dinner so I’m good to go, I’ll see you soon’
Jimmy: I still wish you would have someone drive you up here, be careful, love you’ I smiled at the message and told him not to worry and that I loved him too.
I stood from my bed and straightened my outfit which consisted of a Vengeance University tank top and black leggings, I thought I should show some moral support since Zacky had talked to me about starting a clothing line and asked for my help. I laced up my combat boots, pocketed my phone and some cash, grabbed my keys and took one more look around the room to make sure I hadn’t forgotten anything, I smiled as I looked at the crib against one of my walls, I couldn’t wait until my baby was sleeping in there, I turned to leave my room when the doorbell rang, confused as to who it could be I went to answer it.
“You fucking bitch!” Leanna screamed at me, tears rolling down her face when I answered the door.
“What did I do?” I asked, sighing, I didn’t have time for her dramatics.
“Jimmy left me for you! You just had to get fucking pregnant didn’t you?!”
“No Leanna, I didn’t have to get pregnant, it just happened, and I was pregnant before he fucked you,” Getting rather uncomfortable knowing the guys were waiting for me.
“I loved him, can’t you see that?! He should be with me!” She screamed, pushing me back into the house causing me to bump into the wall with my back, a pain shot through me.
“NO LEANNA, HE’S WITH ME, WHERE IS MEANT TO BE, WITH HIS FAMILY!” I screamed at her “OW FUCK!” I doubled over “Oh no, not yet baby, it’s too early for this,” I whispered.
“Don’t start your fucking shit with me,” She scoffed.
“Leanna, you have to help me, I need to go to the hospital and I can’t drive myself,” I told her.
“Yeah, right,” She laughed.
“Leanna, I am begging you here, something’s wrong with the baby, have a fucking heart,” I begged as I started to cry.
“Shit,” She breathed, wrapping an arm around my waist and helping me out to her car and speeding off to the hospital.
“Not yet baby, daddy isn’t here, now’s not a good time, you’re not ready yet,” I said soothingly while rubbing my stomach.
Eventually we were at the hospital and Leanna helped me inside.
“Someone help, my friend is having a baby!” She called out as we walked through the doors and there was a nurse running over to us with a wheelchair immediately. “Her name is Charlie Day, she’s 17,” She told the nurse when I was asked my name but couldn’t answer through the tears.
“Leanna, please come with me,” I cried as I was wheeled into an examination room “And call Jimmy,” She told me she would call and be right in.
Jimmy’s P.O.V
I was starting to freak out, I was behind the drums and we were getting ready to play and I still couldn’t see Charlie anywhere but we had to go on.
We were two songs into our set and I could feel my phone vibrating in my pocket but when I saw it was Leanna calling me I wasn’t going to answer it, the bitch has been bothering me for a week now, she doesn’t get it that I’m with Charlie now.
“This one goes out to our best friend Charlie, who is having The Rev’s baby! She’s here somewhere, happy birthday tomorrow girl!” Matt called into the mike as we started to play Second Heartbeat.
By the end of the set I was a wreck, I missed beats during the last song, all because I couldn’t see Charlie anywhere in the crowd or off stage, Val was in the wings and couldn’t get a hold of her either and I just knew something bad must’ve happened. At the end of the set I ran off stage and started to call her, no answer, it was just ringing out, I had to turn to someone I really didn’t want to. I pressed call on Leanna’s name in my contact list.
“Jimmy, where the fuck are you, why haven’t you been answering your phone, it’s Charlie, she needs you!” She yelled into the phone.
“Leanna, calm down and tell me what the fuck is going on,” I seethed.
“The baby’s coming Jimmy, you need to get here now,” Without saying anything I hung up and ran to find Matt.
“Dude, we need to go, NOW!” I yelled, dragging him towards the door of the bar.
“Whoa, Jimmy, what’s going on?” He asked.
“Charlie’s having the baby!” I screamed as I panicked that I would miss the birth of my first son “Oh shit, it’s too early for him to come yet,” I whispered when the realization hit me.
Charlie’s P.O.V
“Good news Miss Day, we managed to stop the labour, for now, but the baby will most likely come a little earlier, but when he comes he’ll be a little more ready,” Dr Simms told me as she looked over my charts as she stood at the foot of the hospital bed, I sighed a massive sigh of relief as did Leanna “We’ll keep you in overnight and see how you are tomorrow, and then you can go home,” I smiled and nodded.
“Can’t she go home tonight? It’s a little unfair if she has to start her 18th birthday in the hospital,” Leanna asked.
“Unfortunately not, we wouldn’t want to risk anything happening to Charlie or the baby,” Dr Simms answered before smiling at me and leaving the room.
“Thank you so much for this,” I said to Leanna, she looked at me and smiled.
“You scared me back there, I may hate you because you have Jimmy and I don’t, but that doesn’t mean I hate you all the time,” I held out my arms for a hug and she leaned over the bed and into the hug.
“You called me your friend,” I teased.
“Well, maybe you could be,” She shrugged.
“I’d like that,” I smiled and pulled out my phone.
“Hey girl, how was the show?” Rosie asked when she answered the phone.
“I don’t know, I never made it there,” I chuckled.
“What are you talking about?” She asked with a mouthful of food.
“I’m in the hospital, Jimmy and the guys are on their way, the baby started coming but they stopped it, we have a few more weeks,” I said in one breath so she couldn’t interrupt me.
“Oh my god, we’ll be there as soon as we can, do you have your bag?”
“No, I didn’t have a chance when Leanna was helping me to her car,”
“Leanna? You can tell me later,” She chuckled “Be safe, I’ll see you soon,” We said our goodbyes and hung up the phone just as Jimmy burst into the room.
“I’m here, where is he? Did I miss it?” He asked, rushing over to the bed and looking me over, breathing heavily.
“He’s still inside, no, you didn’t miss it, they stopped the labour and he’ll be here in a few more weeks,” I laughed as the rest of the guys came in the room with Val pushing through them to get to me.
One I told everyone what happened, and they stopped worrying Val was laying on the bed with me rubbing my stomach and telling me all about the show and what I missed, about how Jimmy messed up the last two songs because I wasn’t there and I had to promise to make that up to them.
Jimmy’s P.O.V
Everyone left after an hour or so, Rosie and Emmet had turned up with a bag for Charlie and then left to get Ava, Leanna was saying goodbye to Charlie and I was really stunned at how civil they were being.
“Hey Leanna, wait up,” I called as I jogged down the corridor behind her.
“Hey Jimmy, what’s up?” She asked with a small smile as she stuck her hands in her pockets.
“I just wanted to say thank you, you were the last person I imagined to have to bring Charlie to the hospital, so thank you, you saved our little guy in there,” I told her and pulled her into a friendly hug.
“It’s alright, I only hated Charlie because she has what I want and I’m never going to get, I do love you Jimmy, but you’re going to have a family and I wasn’t going to let anything destroy that, I wouldn’t let either of them get hurt,” She whispered the end of her sentence, I knew she was holding back tears.
“You don’t love me Leanna, people mistake sex for love, and lust was all you ever felt for me, and I’m cool with that because I have Charlie, I think I’ve always loved her and I kind of hoped that this would all happen one day, maybe not so soon, but it happened and we’re in this for good now,” I said smoothing her hair down “You’re going to find the person you should be with someday, don’t worry,” She nodded and pulled away, saying goodbye and turning to leave the hospital.
“What happened out there?” Charlie asked when I walked back into the room and lay on the bed beside her.
“I just wanted to thank her for what she did,” I told her.
“Harvey’s happy that his daddy’s here,” She smiled and moved around a little.
“What do you mean?” I asked as I furrowed my brows.
“He’s kicking,” She took my hand and pressed it to the side of her stomach and sure enough he was kicking, hard too.
“Hey Harvey, you scared a lot of people tonight, don’t do that again little man, we love you and we can’t wait to meet you, but you gotta wait just a little longer, we’re all so excited, you’re aunts and uncles too, all of them,” I cooed at her bulging stomach and the kicking eventually stopped and Charlie sighed contently “I love you,” I told her.
“I love you too,” She smiled into my chest.
“No, seriously, I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you,”
