“Charlotte Edwin Day,” The principal finally called my name and I waddled across the stage to receive my diploma, the guys, the girls, my brother and Rosie all made a hell of a lot of noise, so much noise the room was practically shaking. I laughed at them, made faces before shaking the principals hand, getting the photo snapped and waddling back off stage to join my friends.
We continued on making noise for every one of us who walked across the stage and finally, we were graduated.
“Congratulations the graduating class of 2013 of Huntington High!” The principal called into the microphone and everyone threw their caps into the air.
After going home we all only had a few hours to get ready for prom, I wasn’t going all out like everyone else though, everyone had huge dressed and fake tan, I however, curled my hair and pinned it on the back of my head with butterfly clips, wore minimal makeup and slipped into a pale pink dress, tight around my ever growing bust and flowed around the rest of my body, I was finished after an hour and a half when the doorbell rang.
“Charlie, Brian’s here!” Rosie called from the bottom of the stairs.
“Coming!” I called back
Brian’s P.O.V
“Coming!” Rosie called from her bedroom, I stood waiting with Emmet, Rosie and Ava and then I saw her.
She looked radiant, she was glowing, she looked like a goddamn angel. No one had said anything about me taking Charlie to prom instead of Jimmy, since he was being a tool and didn’t even ask her if she wanted to go to her own prom, I was going to make this night special for her, she was one of my best friends and she didn’t deserve to miss out on the night that all of us were going to be enjoying, it wouldn’t be the same without her.
We were well into the night, Jimmy had talked to Charlie a few times but she always walked away from him and before he could do anything to stop her Leanna was latching herself to him. I was currently swaying from side to side with Charlie when I felt someone tap my shoulder.
Charlie’s P.O.V
Brain was swaying us from side to side in time with whatever slow song was playing now, I was resting my head on his chest with my eyes closed, this was relaxing, soothing, it was nice to be distracted from pregnancy things for a change, not worrying about how sore my back was, how often I had to pee, the baby making me every morning at 5 am kicking, child birth… oh god, child birth.
Brian pulled away and I looked up to see Jimmy standing behind Brian, with a pleading look on his face, Brian looked down at me as if asking for permission to give me to Jimmy, I nodded slightly and he kissed me on the top of my head before walking off to join Johnny who was spiking the punch, I made a mental note not to drink any of that.
“Hey,” Jimmy whispered as he pulled me close to him, well, as close as he could and I wrapped my arms around the back of his neck.
Odds Are by Barenaked Ladies started playing and Jimmy started swaying just like Brian had been doing a minute before.
“Hey,” I whispered back, I couldn’t deny that it felt amazing to be back in his arms again even if my stomach was pressing against his lower abdomen and putting a bit of distance between us.
“D’you think there’s something between us?” He asked with a laugh as he looked down at my stomach.
“Yes,” I replied simply, not looking away from his face, he looked back up locked his eyes with mine before smiling slightly “Jimmy, I’m in love with you, and I know that because every time I see you or even think about you the baby starts kicking like crazy, I think it’s because my heart starts pounding every time,”
“Mine too,” He whispered.
“And you’re like, the coolest person I’ve ever met and you don’t even have to try,” I chuckled, shaking my head slightly.
“I really don’t, do i?” He asked rhetorically.
“Stop being such an egotistical prick Jimmy,” I laughed, punching his arm. He laughed and pulled me closer to him, we were now dancing how Brian and I had been dancing before, my head on his chest only this time I was focusing on his heartbeat.
“I love you…” He murmured into my hair “So, be my girlfriend and come to the graduation party at the beach with me tomorrow?” He asked hopefully.
“Okay,” I sighed contently as the song ended and Jimmy pulled away and ran off. Where the fuck was he going?”
“Alright boys and girls, we have a band here tonight that we know you all love so much, they’re local and they’re right out crazy, so… GIVE IT UP FOR AVENGED SEVENFOLD!” The principal walked back off stage and I screamed with Val and Sophie as our guys appeared on stage.
“How y’all doing tonight?” Matt asked and everyone screamed as they all huddled onto the dance floor to watch “Alright, this song was written by our drummer The Rev, for his little baby boy and the love of his life, this one’s called Second Heartbeat,” He said pointing to me as I stood up the back, not wanting to be shoved around by crazy fans.
Brian started his riff and Zacky joined in before the drums kicked in too, Johnny was standing towards the back of the stage rocking out on the bass and I heard a few girls screaming his name.

Matt’s screaming was amazing and had everyone going crazy, I got lost in the music and moved around with the beat and my baby’s kicks, he liked his daddy’s music.

The song ended and everyone went wild as the girls grabbed my hands and lead me up and onto the stage where Jimmy was standing on front of his drum kit with a huge smile on his face and his arms outstretched waiting for me, I ran to him and he lifted me, spinning us around before placing me down on my feet and kissing me softly.
“That was amazing,” I whispered into his ear.
