"Dustin, wake up." Chase said while shaking me. "The planes going to be landing soon."
"Mmpphhh" I said into the pillow I was using.
"Dustin, get your ass up or else I'm getting off the plane without you."
"Mph.. Fine," I groaned. Jaeger was asleep in the seat between me and Chase. I was by the window, leaving Chase to be by the isle. I slept through the whole plane ride, even though I hate planes.
"This is your captain speaking. We will be landing momentarily. If you could all please fasten your seatbelts, that would be great!" The captain called through the speaker thing. We buckled up and the plane made its decent.
After getting off and waiting for our luggage to come, we made out way to the front doors. We were told tere would be someone holding a sign up with our names on it. We saw the sign and made I way towards the lady holding it.
"Hello, are you two Dustin and Chase?" She asked.
"Yeah. And you are?" Chase replied.
"Kathy Smith. Your foster mom." She held her hand out to Chase an he shook it briefly. "Well, follow me. We have a 40 minute ride back to the house."
We followed her to her mini van and climbed in. The ride was silent. If a fly farted, you could have heard it. she didn't even have music playing. Jaeger was getting antsy so, I went to roll down the window only for it to not work.
"Hey, uh, Kathy?" I asked quietly.
"Yes, dear?" I cringed at that name. I hate it.
"Uh, could you roll down this window? Jaeger needs air."
"Sure," she rolled down the window and Jaeger happily stuck his head out.
-30 minutes later-
We finally arrived at her house. It was a nice house with a green yard. It looks to be pretty big but, looks can be deceiving right?
"Here we are!" Kathy chirped and hopped out.
I jumped out, letting Jaeger follow as Chase got out the other door. Him and Kathy got our suitcases out of the back.
"Come on you two. Time to meet the family!" Kathy called as she led in the house. "Gary! Stephanie! Tyler!"
A man, looking to be in his late thirties came down the stairs, followed by a teenage girl, probably a little older than me, and a cute little boy, probably about 6.
"Dustin, Chase. This is my husband Gary," she pointed to the man. "And these are my kids Stephanie and Tyler. Stephanie is 15 and Tyler is 6."
"Hey there you two!" Gary called out. Is everybody just happy-go-lucky at this house?
"Hey," Chase greeted.
"Mom, why do they have a dog?" Stephanie asked, seemingly annoyed.
"We have a dog, because we got him three years ago. His name is Jaeger. Piss him off, your dead meat." I snapped. I already don't like Stephanie.
"Dustin," Chase put his hand on my shoulder. "Where are we going to be sleeping?"
"Well, we have one room open. We can either put Dustin with Stephanie and Chase you can have the room, or you two can share a room. Your guys' choice." Kathy informed us.
"It's up to you, Dustin." Chase said.
"I want to share a room with Chase." I stated.
"Alright, well, Stephanie can you show them the extra room?" Kathy asked.
"Sure," Stephanie glared at me and walked up the stairs. I grabbed my suitcase and followed, Jaeger and Chase in tow. "Here's your room." She pointed to a room with only a bed, dresser, and desk in it.
"Thanks," I said and walked in and flopped on the bed. "This bed is so soft." I yawned and fell asleep again. Not on purpose though.
