The next day Zacky came over and all of the guys and I went and sat in some stuffy room getting ready for the interview, I was sitting between Zacky and Brian, Johnny was annoyingly tapping his foot on the hardwood floor. Everything seemed to be setting me off today even the littlest things. I yelled at Brain this morning for chewing to loud, and the Zacky for driving to slow, Matt for sneezing and now I’m about to go off of Johnny’s ass. They are telling me it’s my hormones.
“Zacky told us.” Matt finally said
“Told you what?” I asked
“That your baby is Jimmy’s.” Johnny said stopping his foot.
“Do you guys think less of me?” I asked
“No, for one you didn’t know until recently which is why he’s not mad, for two it’s Jimmy’s what’s growing inside you is the only piece of Jimmy that we have left.” Matt said Zacky squeezed my hand.
“This is what I am saying. Just because the baby inside my girlfriend isn’t mine I’m still going to be there for him and her. But what makes this different is the baby growing inside of you is all of our best friends baby. He loved you Brice, you two were closer than anything. Just because he’s not going to look like me doesn’t mean I’m not going to take care of him.” Zacky said
We heard clapping and realized the interviewer was standing there the entire time. Oh shit.
“You guys ready to get started?” He asked us
“Yeah.” Matt said
The interviewer sat down and his partner dude turned on the video camera.
“We are here with Avenged Sevenfold and Vengeance’s girlfriend Brice.” He said
I smiled into the camera and then the baby kicked and I doubled over.
“Are you okay?” Brian asked
“Yeah he’s just kicking.” I said placing my hand on my tummy.
“Anyways what are you four determined to do now that you’ve lost The Rev?” The interviewer asked Johnny spoke up.
“I’m determined to live till I get old and grey because Jimmy never got to.” He said I held in my tears as Brian hugged the bassist.
“So Zacky I see that your girlfriend is pregnant but I hear that the baby isn’t yours. I hear that the baby is The Rev’s.” He said
My head fell into my hands; all of their fans are going to think I’m a whore now. I can see them now watching this interview and judging me. I got up and walked out of the camera view and sat down. Zacky looked at me.
“Yeah Brice is pregnant and it’s Jimmy’s baby but you know what? Who cares, I love that girl with all of my heart and I loved Jimmy he was our best friend. And that baby is our little piece of him that we’ll have in five months. People can think what they want about her but I’m proud of her for telling us that it’s his and not mine rather than hiding it from us. That baby won’t just have one dad but he’ll have four great uncles. All of us are going to be a male figure to that baby no matter what. Mine or not, I’ll be there.” Zacky said getting up.
“So the baby is a he?” Interviewer asked
“Yeah he’s a boy.” I piped in taking my original seat and taking Zack’s hand in mine
The interview we on for another twenty minutes and I just wanted to punch the guy in the face, when it was done I got into Zacky’s car and we headed out to Jimmy’s house.
“Brian told me you want to live in Jimmy’s house.” He said on the way there.
“I do but we’re not.” I said
“Why?” He asked
“Because it wouldn’t be right. I don’t even want to clean it anymore, I just want to leave it the way it is and forget about it, not forget about him, forget about the house. It’s not right to live there, maybe if I didn’t have you and I was alone. Yeah I’d live there but I’m not going to put you through that okay?” I asked
His lips formed a straight line as he continued to drive. Good going Brice you pissed him off.
“Are you mad at me?” I asked as we pulled into the driveway.
“No, I’m just thinking Brice. I think we should go see Katie and Kellie.” He said
“Do they even know?” I asked “They weren’t at the funeral.” I said
“Yeah they know, they couldn’t come. Do you want to go there?” He asked
I nodded. He got out of the car.
“I’m going to tell the guys the plan.” He said
He walked up the guys and they all nodded and walked off to their cars. Zacky came back and go into the car.
“They want to come.” He said I smiled and he took my hand and backed out of the driveway.
We drove to Jimmy’s sisters house, when we pulled up into the driveway Zacky got out and walked around the front of the car and helped me out. He took my hand and Brain came up behind up and Matt and Johnny got in front of us.
“They don’t know you’re pregnant.” Brain whispered
“They might if they watched the interview today.” I whispered back.
Zacky took off his oversized hoodie and had me put it on just in case they didn’t know. I nodded as Johnny knocked on the door, Katie opened it and hugged Johnny.
“Hey girly how are you?” He asked
“Been better. Is it just you and the rest of the band?” She asked
“No, Brice is here.” Brian said
“Hey Brice.” She smiled
We all went in and Kellie was sitting on the couch with a laptop on the coffee table.
“Hey whatcha doing?” Brian asked
“Getting ready to watch your interview that you had today.” She said
Zacky sat on a lounge chair on the opposite side of the room and pulled me into his lap. Katie and Kellie sat on the floor in front of the laptop, Brian sat behind Katie and Johnny sat behind Kellie. Matt sat on the ground and watched whatever was on the TV. I heard the video start and just looked into Zack’s eyes and tried to zone out.
“Johnny.” I heard Kellie say I looked over and she was hugging Johnny’s legs, I watched Katie and she was staring at me.
“Are you okay Katie?” I asked
“You’re having my nephew?” She asked
“Yeah.” I said
“Thank god!” Kellie yelled I just looked at her.
“We have a piece of him left. Growing in you; a good friend of our family.” She said getting up and hugging me.
“Five months.” I said She smiled and we all hung out for at least three hours.
