“So, what’s new with you?” My mother asked from the end of the table, my father was at the other, Zacky and I were on one side while Matt and Val were on the other side.
I looked at Val and she nodded encouragingly.
“I’m pregnant?” I tried to tell them, but it was more of a question than a statement, again.
“You’re what?” My father asked, choking on his drink.
“She’s pregnant, dad,” Matt said, backing me up
“You knew about this Matthew?” Mom asked him, shock all over her face
“Yes mom, I knew, all the guys know, Val and Michelle know…” He trailed off “Zacky knows…” He barely whispered
“Thanks man.” Zacky spat at Matt
“Zachary?” dad asked, eyebrows raised
“I’m having Zacky’s baby,”
“Like hell you are!” Mom yelled, standing, I stood too
“Yes, I am, we decided!” I yelled
“When’s the wedding then?” She asked with a smug look on her face, knowing fine well I’d never wanted to get married
“There isn’t one,” I imitated her smug grin as her face fell and I crossed my arms over my chest.
“Well… that went well,” Zacky sighed from the driver’s seat as we pulled up at my apartment
“I need to sell this place, find somewhere else, it’s too small for a baby,” I sighed, trying to avoid the subject of what happened at dinner.
“Come and live with me,” Zacky blurted out
“What?” I chuckled
“I want you guys there all the time, so I can help look after the baby as much as possible, move in with me, please?” He begged
“Alright dude, if you want a pregnant chick and then a screaming baby living in your bachelor pad, we’ll move in with you,” I laughed, placing my hand over my stomach – I wasn’t showing at all yet, but I knew my baby was in there, Zacky’s hand landed on top of mine and I looked into his eyes and smiled, he smiled back, for once it wasn’t a sly smile or a smirk, he was genuinely smiling.
3 months later~~~~
Zacky’s P.O.V
I heard Bella scream from our bedroom – Yes, we’re sharing, I only have one guest bedroom and it’s going to be the nursery. I ran upstairs and bust into the bedroom to find her standing in front of the mirror smiling, stray tears rolling down her cheeks.
“Bella, what’s wrong?” I asked, panicked.
“I found a bump,” She smiled
“What? Like, a lump?” I asked, stepping closer to her,
“No… like a baby bump,” She cried, taking my hand and pressing it to her stomach which was now rounded, it wasn’t like this yesterday.
“Whoa…” I breathed “Where did that come from?”
“Our baby,” She smiled up at me, her hand was still holding mine to her stomach, a surge of electricity shot through me, the heat rising in my cheeks. I’ll admit it, I was crazy about Bella, I always had been, even though I’d had girlfriends it never worked out because I KNEW it was Bella I was supposed to be with.
“What are your plans for today?” I asked her, taking my hand away and running it through my hair.
“I’m going out to lunch, and then I was just going to come back here and pig out and watch TV all day, unless Val and Michelle come over with the guys, if that’s your plan?” She replied
“Yeah, the guys and I are gonna go to the studio and then come back here tonight,” I told her “Who are you going to lunch with?” I asked as she finished getting ready, she looked adorable, she was dressed in a white long sleeved t-shirt with pale blue denim dungarees over the top, they were rolled up at the bottom to reveal her ankles and she had red vans on her feet today. I noticed she was wearing minimal makeup and her now natural mousey brown hair was pulled into the middle of the back of her head in a loose ponytail.
“Taylor,” She said simply as she slipped money and her phone into her pocket “He asked me out to lunch and wanted to talk,”
“Don’t worry about it babe, you don’t have to justify it to me,” I laughed
“I know, but we are having a kid together,” She chuckled, kissing me on the cheek and leaving the room, leaving me standing dumbfounded with my hand pressed to where she had kissed; my heart racing.
Bella’s P.O.V
I pulled into the parking lot of the restraint Taylor had asked me to have lunch at with him. Taylor was an ex-boyfriend of mine from college, we’d done a media studies and music engineering course together and really hit it off, Zacky and the guys never liked him at all but it never got to us, we ended on good terms when I didn’t want anything serious and he found someone who did.
“Hey, gorgeous!” Taylor exclaimed as I walked into the restraint
“Hey Tay!” I laughed as he pulled me into a hug.
“God it’s been so long,”
“Tell me about it,”
We ordered our drinks and then food and spent the next hour catching up, I told him all about the guys and their music and how they were really big now, but he knew that and even had a death bat tattooed behind his ear that was hidden by his long, blond hair, he told me about how him and his girlfriend of 5 years got engaged but she got cold feet and called it off, I sympathized for him and he shrugged it off.
“There’s a reason I asked you out today,” He started, taking my hand in his, I raised my eyebrows “I knew it wasn’t going to work with Mindy, she wasn’t you, the time we spent together was amazing, I miss you, I’ve missed you since graduation all those years ago-“ I cut him off by holding up the index finger on my free hand, and swallowed hard
“I’m having a baby,” I laughed nervously and he dropped my hand immediately before clearing his throat and scratching the back of his neck
“Um…” He started
“You can go,” I said, pressing my lips together and pointing to the door behind me with my thumb.
“Thanks,” He said quickly, slapping down the money to pay for lunch on the table and practically running out of the restaurant, I laughed and waited a few moments before leaving and walking to my car.
10 minutes later I pulled up at the studio, I made my way inside and into the room where the guys would be.
“Back from your date already?” Zacky laughed from his place on the two seat sofa
“It’s wasn’t a date Zachary,” I quipped “But he did start to tell me how he missed being with me… until I told him I was having a baby, he freaked and left,” The guys all looked at me, eyes wide, watching me as if I were about to cry “Funny little fucker that he is,” I laughed and they all visably relaxed.
“So, Zacky told us that you found a bump this morning?” Brian asked from beside Zacky, I pulled my dungarees tight around my torso, revealing the very small bump that was my stomach. The guys all rushed over and gushed around it, cooing over it and rubbing it, Jimmy was even talking to it.
“I’m your uncle Jimmy, I know you can hear me little guy, I’m going to be the best uncle ever, way better than these guys,” He laughed
“Hey! I’m the blood uncle, so I’m going to be the best, thank you very much,” Matt told him matter of factly.
