1 month later ~~~~
“That’s a wrap!” The director for the music video, Beast and the Harlot called out and everyone cheered and clapped.
“You did great today!” Val gushed, handing me a bathrobe to cover myself up “Get dressed; we’re going to the store to stock up on drinks for tonight.”
A lot has happened in the last month, Zacky and I were fine after our drunken night together, the guys had started to make music videos for City of Evil songs, I had just played the harlot today, Jimmy and Leanna broke up so he was heartbroken, oh, and Val was my soon-to-be sister in law. Matt proposed a little over a week ago and tonight they were having their engagement party.
I changed out of my costume, told the guys we would see them tonight and jumped into the car with the twins and Val drove to the store so buy alcohol, and a lot of food, since the guys liked to eat a lot and there was a lot of guests we would be buying and cooking double tonight.
“I’ll be right back!” I called to them as I ran to the toiletries aisle and walked down, I was going to pick up some more makeup wipes and soap for my house but then something caught my eye. Sanitary towels, I grabbed my phone and checked todays date and then pulled open my calendar app. My eyes widened and I nearly dropped my phone realizing the date and, I was four days late… I’m NEVER late. I grabbed a pregnancy test and some more food, avoiding the alcohol aisle where the girls were, paid for my things and hailed a cab outside texting Val to say I would get her at her place and get a start on some of the food.
I paid the driver and ran up the path, grabbing the spare key from the hanging basket next to the door and bursting into the empty house, dropping the shopping bags and running to the downstairs bathroom. I did what the instructions said on the back of the box, choking back tears, silently praying that it would be negative. I paced the bathroom waiting for the timer on my phone to beep. Once it did I couldn’t bring myself to look, but I eventually did, I picked up the white plastic stick and matched it against the box, I heard the door open and Val shouting my name, I hid it quickly and ran out to greet them, a smile plastered on my face.
2 hours later~~~~
“You alright?” Michelle asked from beside me “You look sad,”
“I just feel bad for Jimmy you know?” I lied successfully
“I know…” Michelle started before she noticed the tears dripping from my eyes and down my cheeks and heard me sniffing “Oh god, come on, in here,” She fussed, pulling me into the downstairs bathroom
“It’s just so sad, he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, but she broke his heart by-“ I was wiping my eyes with the tissue Michelle had handed me but was cut off when I heard her gasp.
“There’s a pregnancy test here,” She said and I froze, holding my breath.
“Oh god…” I sighed
“Val’s pregnant!” She whisper yelled before storming out of the bathroom and pushing through the party goers to get to her sister, I followed closely behind Michelle, shouting for her to stop. We found Val alone in the kitchen, pouring herself another drink.
“Should you really be drinking?!” Michelle snapped
“Uh, yes? It’s my engagement party… I’m allowed a drink?” Val turned her statement into a question, her eyebrows furrowed and she just looked confused
“Not when you’re pregnant!” Michelle hissed at her twin.
“What are you talking about?!” Val yelled “I’m not pregnant!”
“Well this says otherwise!” Michelle yelled back, holding up the white stick in Val’s face
“That isn’t mine?” Val turned it into a question again, confusion all over her face, I started to sob, watching the two stand in the middle of the kitchen face to face. They turned to me with wide eyes as I dropped to the floor crying.
“You’re pregnant?” They asked in unison as they crouched beside me, rubbing my back soothingly, I laid my head on Val’s shoulder as she rocked me like she did when we were kids.
“Who’s the father?” Michelle asked sympathetically
“I don’t want anyone to know until he knows, I’ll tell you guys once I tell him,” I sniffed, pulling myself to my feet
“We understand and respect that, you have to tell him soon tough,” Val smiled before hugging me again “If you told me it could class as my engagement present you know,” She hinted
“Hey, I’m already giving you my brother, isn’t that enough?” I scoffed with mock hurt.
We all laughed and headed out to party with everyone else. The rest of the night went off without a hitch but people were confused as to why I was turning down drinks all night, but I lied and told them I didn’t feel great. Michelle told me to crash with her and Brian tonight since Val and Matt would be doing things I didn’t really want to hear and I didn’t want to be home alone.
I woke up when I heard my phone ringing on the bedside table next to the bed in Michelle and Brian’s guest bedroom.
“Hello?”
“Darling, why haven’t you called in a while?” The voice that haunted my dreams asked through the phone.
“Mom, you saw me last night at Matt’s party,” I sighed, rubbing my free hand down my face as I sat up in the bed
“Yes, but you spent most of your time with Valarie, you should come over for dinner, you can bring someone with you if you’d like,” She chirped
“Alright, alright, how about tomorrow?” I asked, I’d caved so soon.
“Five o’clock,” She said, pride in her voice, knowing she had succeeded before hanging up.
I showered and then dressed for the day in pale blue jeans and a green button up shirt, slipping black vans onto my feet and grabbing my overnight bag and walking downstairs.
“So momma, you going to tell the father today?” Michelle asked, as I walked into the kitchen, Brian was piling his breakfast onto a plate beside her.
“Michelle!” I whisper yelled nodding towards Brian
“Chill Bella, I know,” He chuckled
“Great, now Bri knows too,” I said, throwing my hands up in the air “But yes,” I sighed “I am going to tell him today, in fact, I’m on my way to his place now,”
I pulled up outside the house, my chest tightened and my stomach knotted, I didn’t know if I could do this, I took a deep breath and climbed out of my car and walked up his front path and pressed my finger hesitantly against the doorbell.
“Hey Bella-“ He started
“Good, you’re up, I have to talk to you,” I spat out, pushing past him and walking into his house.
“Bella, what’s going on?” He asked worriedly,
“You might want to sit for this,” I told him, sitting on the sofa, he sat on the coffee table in front of me,
“Okay? What’s going on Bell, you’re scaring me,” He chuckled nervously.
“I’m pregnant.” I spat out, he froze, eyes wide and he held his breath “I don’t know how, I mean I always knew that condoms weren’t 100% but I didn’t think it would happen to me,” I sighed
“Is it…”
“It’s yours Zacky, I’m going to see the doctor next, I’m going to ask more about the condom thing, see if I can work this-“ I was cut off by him snapping
“Forget about the fucking condom, I sure did anyway!” He yelled, standing up and running his hands through his hair. I stood too
“YOU WHAT?!” I yelled in his face
“You told me to just do it already so I did, I didn’t have the condom on!” He yelled back, I started to cry, pacing the room saying ‘fuck’ over and over again
“Oh shit, Matt is going to kill me!” He stressed
We spent another hour in his living room discussing everything, I screamed at him for being stupid and he apologized so many times that I lost count, I cried at least three different times and eventually we were cuddling on his sofa in silence.
“I can’t believe I’m going to have my best friends baby,” I laughed through shaky breaths.
“I can’t believe my best friend is having my kid,” He laughed too, all awkwardness leaving the room, the door burst open as he spoke.
Val and Matt, Michelle and Brian and Johnny and Jimmy piled into the house. The girls looked at me with their eyes wide and their mouths open. Brian had a smirk on his face that I wanted to slap off him, Zacky and I sat up, I ran my fingers through my hair and everyone took seats, the other three guys having no idea what was going on.
“Congrats man,” Brian said seriously, a slight smirk still on his face as he patted Zacky on the shoulder.
“Oh fuck!” Michelle finally said
“I can’t believe this!” Val smiled widely, pulling me into a hug, Brian laughed and Zacky joined in, pulling each other into a man hug as the girls hugged me tightly.
“Uh, someone care to fill us in?” Matt asked after he cleared his throat.
“Matt… please don’t be mad but…” I started, tears filling my eyes again. Matt turned his gaze to Zacky, giving him a death glare
“You got my sister pregnant!” He yelled, grabbing him by the collar of his t-shirt and pushing him against the wall “You son of a bitch!” He spat before he started laughing
“What’s funny?” I asked
“His fucking face, he almost fucking pissed himself!” Matt laughed “I’m kidding dude, if any of you guys was going to impregnate my sister I’m glad it was you,” He said, patting Zacky on the back once he let him down.
“Hey!” Jimmy and Johnny shouted, offended from their places on the sofa
“No offence guys,” Matt chuckled and we all went back to our positions.
Zacky decided to come to the doctors with me where it was confirmed that I was indeed pregnant, 7 weeks gone exactly.
“So, what does this mean for us?” Zacky asked, swallowing a bite of his burger.
“What do you mean?” I asked, taking a big gulp of cola
“Well surely your parents want you to be married before you pop out kids right? Should I go ask your dad for your hand in marriage?” Zacky asked, completely serious. I burst out laughing
“Hell no! I know my mom disapproves of every decision I make but I wont get married just ‘cause they think it’s right, we’re best friends Zacky, we always have been, I mean I never thought I’d have a baby with you, but I am, but we’re not getting married, hell, we’re not even together,” I shoved a chip into my mouth “We’ll just be friends with a kid,” I chuckled.
