With You Around

Home-Wrecker

I was not happy at all about having to tell Larry it would be a no go on my opportunity. That I was going to give up a dream that I had since I was a little girl to work on my newest dream of being a mother. I had been up early that morning, because I was dealing with a small hint of morning sickness. I was sitting in the backyard, nibbling on some toast. I heard the sliding door open and shut behind me. I didn’t look up to see who it was, I already knew who it was.
“Morning Jimmy”
“Morning Aidan.” He replied as he sat down next to me. “I’m sorry about last night…” I just nodded. I knew I shouldn’t be completely upset with him, or any of the guys. They just didn’t want me hurt, and Jimmy was just blinded by anger.
“It’s ok, I promise. I know it’s only because you care and you don’t wanna see me hurt.” He laughed softly,
“Your so understanding, you’ll make a wonderful mother.”
“I hope so.”
“You will!” he stated reassuringly. It was quiet between us for awhile, until he spoke again. “Do you want me to come with you today, when you talk to Larry?” I shook my head no.
“Thank you for offering but, I’ll need the alone time. Well it’s probably time for me to go get dressed.

I walked into my room, noticing Brian still asleep in my bed. I shook my head at how he was laying. I couldn’t believe how everything was panning out. I ended up pregnant and Brian is thrilled. I sat down on the bed next to his sleeping form, and I began pushing some of his hair out of his face. I smiled at him as I sat there for another minute before I got dressed. As I went to get up I was suddenly pulled back down by a pair of strong arms.
“No, your staying with me!” Brian whined like a small child as he pulled me close to him.
“Brian I have to get dressed-”
“Nuh-uh!”
“Yeah-huh. I have to go talk to Larry…” I trailed off. Brian instantly stopped trying to be cute, and a frown took over his face.
“I feel like this is my fault…”
“Brian it’s both of our faults. But it’s okay! Brian, we’re going to have a baby. And that’s worth so much more then me trying to make a music career. So don’t be sorry because I’m not.” I smiled reassuringly. I placed a hand on my stomach, there was a tiny little bump there and I couldn’t wait for it to be bigger. Brian sat up and kissed me on the cheek. Our eyes connected, which caused each of us to smile. I pecked him on the lips and then got up to get dressed.

~*Later That Day, after meeting with Larry*~

I drove down to the beach, needing to clear my head and to just have some alone time. I stopped at a vendor on the boardwalk and got a snow cone. I was enjoying the sound of the waves crashing and the sea gulls squawking. I was just about done with my snow cone when my phone went off, I really didn’t want to answer it but I figured it was just Brian worrying about where I was.
“Hello?” I answered without looking at the caller ID.
“Aidan you should get home, like now. Michelle is back and she is livid.” Gena’s voice rang through the phone.
“Oh god, are you sure it’s safe for me to come back home then?”
“I don’t know, but your better off just dealing with her now, then later.”
“That is a good point G. I’ll be there in a few.”
A sigh passed my lips, I sighed because I was a little disappointed I’d never have a music career, but I was starting to become OK with that because I’d get to have a baby. I also sighed for another reason, I was about to go face an enormous problem which will cause an obscene amount of stress.

I pulled up to the house seriously thinking of just going to Benji’s and hiding out for a couple days. But I knew I had to “man up” eventually and that this is a now or never type of situation. I climbed out of my car, not in any hurry what so ever. I could hear her voice screeching even from outside of the house. I could hear a few other people telling Michelle to calm down, though I wasn’t scarred until I heard Brians voice boom for her to ‘shut the fuck up.’ I swallowed the lump in my throat is I opened the front door, shutting it quietly behind me. Michelle hadn’t listened to Brian, she was still going off, and I had a feeling that she still didn’t even know the full story, but she was about to. I walked to where the yelling was coming from, the kitchen. Once I entered the kitchen everyone stopped talking, even Michelle, for a minute.
“You skanky little home-wrecking whore!” Michelle went to charge at me, but Brian stepped in between us, he wasn’t going to let her anywhere near me. “So you really did leave me for that little slut!”
“Shut up Michelle.” Brian snapped in a calm yet serious tone.
“No I will not shut up Brian! Your supposed to be my boyfriend or have you forgotten that!?”
“Actually,” I started “He’s not your boyfriend any more Michelle, because he is going to step up and be a father to our child.” I finished in a matter of fact tone. It was so quite you could hear a pin drop, until Michelle finally lost it.
“Your What!? You knocked her up!?”
“Yes Michelle, I got Aidan pregnant. But you know what? I’m fucking glad! I’ve been wanting a kid for a little while now, but you don’t. Your to busy worrying about your figure and what’s in style this week..” Brian paused. “I love Aidan, not you Michelle. It just isn’t going to work. Now please, leave.”

I expected Michelle to actually start yelling again, but to my surprise she didn’t. She nodded and then shoved her way out of the kitchen and then we heard the front door open and slam shut.
