Chapter Eighteen
*Alex's POV*
I feel kind of bad right now. I ditched all my friends after school just to go off and find a present. It was Adrian's birthday in a couple of days and I wanted to find her the perfect present. I didn't feel like talking to anybody right now either, so, I turned off my phone. I'm sure by the time I turn it back on it will be full of missed calls, texts, and voicemails. I just didn't want to be bothered while looking for the perfect present. I mean, I've always got her something she loves, CDs of her favorite bands, band tees, jewelry(earrings and studs and hoops for her other peircings), I even got her a necklace one time, she still wears it today. But this birthday, I will get something that can't be topped, well, it will be a set of presents, more band tees, a CD from Skillet since they just got a new album, and a matching necklace/earring/bracelet set with purple, black, and white diamonds. I know she will love it. Considering her favorite colors are purple and black.
I walked around the mall I was at, I had my mom drive me to the mall that's not in Huntington, so they don't find me, I found their hot topic. I walked in and found just what I was looking for, a Shinedown shirt, a set of metallic purple rings and studs, and a pair of small tapers, she's always wanted to gauge her ears, why not help her start? I went and paid for the stuff, getting a strange look from the cashier.
"Is this shirt for you?" She asked as she put it in the bag.
"No, it's for my girlfriend. Her birthday is coming up. She's always wanted a Shinedown shirt." I explained.
"Oh that's sweet of you." She smiled warmly at me before telling me my total and handing me my bag. "Come back soon!" She waved.
"I'll try!" I waved back. Off to the music store.
After walking around a bit, I finally found the store. I walked in and found the CD, bought it, and walked out.
I searched fr the jewelry store so I could get her main present. Finally, after 10 minutes of searching, I found it.
I looked around a bit before settling on what I though she would like, a dream catcher necklace with purple and black diamonds in it. I asked the person behind the counter if they could help me find matching earrings and a bracelet. She pulled out a couple bracelets and a few sets of earrings. I picked out which ones I liked the best, paid for them, and walked out.
I had no choice but to turn my phone on so I could call my mom. Since I don't have my own car, and she probably had stuff to do, I had her drive me here. Now she needed to pick me up. I had 10 texts, 15 missed calls, and 2 voicemails, one from Adrian, the other from my mom.
I called my mom after reading the texts. She will be her in 20 minutes. I listened to Adrian's voicemail.
"Hey Alex. We are all worried about you. I've been trying to get a hold of you for a while now, I guess when you feel like calling me back, you will. I miss you. We were going to have band practice but, we kinda need out bassist and singer. Well, get back to me as soon as you can. Love you, bye." She sounded so sad. I felt extremely bad now. I should have at least told Nick and Bailey, then they could have at least covered for me. I texted her after that.
-hey, sorry I never got back to you, my phone was off and I didn't realize. I'll be home soon. Then we can have that band practice. I'll let you know when I'm home. Love you too!-Alex
-OH MY GOD. ALEX! WE WERE ALL SO WORRIED SOMETHING HAPPENED! DON'T EVER DO THAT AGAIN!-Adrian
-whoaa calm down there. I'm sorry okay?-Alex
-okay.. See ya soon-Adrian
That made 10 minutes pass by. I'm getting kind of hungry... I'll go find some food.
I made it to the food court and bought some Taco Bell. After I finished eating, my mom called me telling me she was here. I made my way out to the parking lot and into the car. We drive home in silence except for the music playing faintly in the background.
