Chapter Eleven
*Adrian's POV*
I woke up this morning at 9:45 and took a shower, I decided I was going to break in my new guitar. I've been so busy lately that I haven't really had a chance to use it. I put on a Metallica tee and some shorts and ran down the stairs.
"Morning dad!" I chirped as a ran into the kitchen.
"Morning Adrian. You seem happy, why?" My dad asked, placing a plate of eggs and bacon on the table for me.
"I've decided I'm going to break in my guitar today, then I'm going to start learning one of your songs."
"Oh, sounds fun."
"Yeah, but, I don't know what song to learn," I said, shoving some eggs in my mouth.
"Pick a random song, that's actually how we decide some of our playlists," My dad replied, chuckling a little.
"Okay then."
We finished eating around the same time so, my dad put our plates in the sink and washed them off.
"Hey dad," I started.
"Yes?"
"Don't you have a girlfriend, or fiance?"
"Uhm, I used to, we split up about a month ago."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"It's okay, she was kind of a bitch."
"Oh okay then," I said laughing. "Well, I'm gonna go break in my guitar. I shall be in the basement if I am needed!" I marched down to the basement, where everything music related was at.
I pulled out my phone and looked through my music, finding an Avenged Sevenfold song I liked, Second Heartbeat.
I tuned the guitar to the right tuning and practiced my chords, just to make sure I can still do them.
I looked up the notes and chords to Second Heartbeat. I got it all down pretty easily except for the solo.
"Fucking shit!!" I yelled after I messed up for the sixth time.
"Adrian, are you having problems?" My dad asked as he appeared by me.
"Yes, your fucking solos are hard as shit!"
He laughed. "Well, I am a guitarist extraordinaire, as you said the day we met."
"Yes, I know, I can see why that is. I feel like my fingers will start bleeding soon."
"Well, are you up for a break? I was thinking we could go get some lunch."
"I'm down!" I put my guitar down and stood up. "Let's go!"
"You want to bring a friend along?" I knew he was referring to Alex.
"No, they are all busy."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I asked them earlier if they wanted to have band practice but, they were all busy."
"Okay," We got to the front door and walked out to his car.
I got in and hooked my phone up to the AUX cord and started blaring Unholy Confessions as we drove.
