The drive home felt way too short. I was totally nervous. The ring was burning a hole in my pocket, much like the gun had been earlier. I fiddled around with the box in my pocket. My palms were swearing so much I was beginning to worry if I'd like, melt the box. We eased into the driveway and Zacky turned off the car. I'd zoned out, so Zacky nudged me and said with a smile,
"Let's go get you a wife!" He really did know how to boost a guy's confidence. I nodded, smiled, and got out of his car. With both hands in my pockets, I walked to the door. I slowly turned the doorknob and peeked inside. The girls were still talking on the couch.
"Hey babe, where'd you guys rush off to so randomly?" Mia asked. My heart was practically beating out of my chest. I never get nervous, never. I can play for hundreds of thousands of fans in a stadium, but I can't ask my girlfriend to marry me? Come on, Bri, get your shit together.
"No where special." I lied, my voice cracking and a smile escaping my lips. I thought of an idea, a good one I thought. I took the ring out of it's box while still inside my pocket. Now it was in my hand. I stood up.
"You guys want a drink or something?" I asked, walking towards the kitchen. I dropped the ring (on purpose) a few feet away from the kitchen and said,
"Woah, Mia! Come look at this!" Making it sound like an emergency.
"What? Is it a bug? You know how I feel about bugs, Brian Haner."
"No, seriously! It has your name on it, it's for you!"
"What're you talking about?"
"Just come over here and see!" She gave Lucy a puzzled look and stood up and walked up to me.
"Brian, I don't see anything." she said, looking at the walls and in the kitchen.
"It's on the ground" I said with the hugest smile on my face. She looked more confused than ever. She got on all fours and searched the ground, crawling. She stopped in her tracks.
"Brian..." She trailed, speechless. She turned to face me, and I was already down on one knee.
"Mia..will you-" I began to say. She cut me off by jumping one me, pushing me to the ground. She smahsed our lips together. It was quite possibly the sweetest kiss we'd ever shared. When she pulled away I laughed.
"I'll take that as a yes?" I asked, smiling. Her wide smile said it all.
"You can take that as a hell yes. I love you, Brian."
"I love you too, my fiance." I teased, attacking and tickling her. She giggled her adorable laugh.
"Briannn! Stop itt!" She pleaded. After a few minutes I finally let up and handed her the ring, placing it on her finger. she marvelled at it.
"Do you like it?" I asked nervously. She nodded enthusiastically and answered,
"It's beautiful." I pinched her cheek and said,
"You're beautiful." She blushed and pulled me into a hug. I'd forgotten we weren't alone.
"THAT IS TOO FUCKING ADORABLE." Jimmy shouted. When had he gotten here? In fact, everyone was there, we were surrounded by our smiling friends.
"Can you believe we're both engaged?" Lucy asked Mia. Mia replied,
"Can you believe we're engaged to Synyster Gates and Zacky Vengeance?"
