Baby Don't Cry

Come back to me, it's almost easy.

I woke up the next morning to the sound of Brian's phone ringing in his pocket.

It scared Brian awake and he sat up, letting my cheek fall against the sand as he answered his phone.

”Uh, hello? No, no, I'm uh... I'm at Jimmy's place. We had a few more beers... Alright, love you, bye,” he mumbled into the phone before putting it away and looking at me.

”Did we sleep the whole night here? Outside?” I murmured before sitting up and brushing the sand out of my hair.

I rubbed my eyes and yawned. Brian was smiling at me.

”You look really beautiful,” he told me quietly, ”With your hair like that. When you smile like that. When you've just woken up. When you're happy, Sophia.”

”Who was it? That called you?” I asked him, ignoring all of his compliments.

”My wife,” he said, getting more serious again.

”Why did you lie to her?”

”I couldn't have told her that I spent the night at the beach with my ex girlfriend, right?”

”Right...” I looked up at the morning sky and let out a sigh.

”I should go,” he said quietly.

I watched as he stood up and brushed the sand off his clothes. He held out his hand for me and I grabbed it and he helped me up to my feet.

”I want you to know that I won't hold this against you. I know you love your wife and it's her who you want to be with and that's fine. I'm not going to try to destroy your marriage,” I told him quietly.

He lifted his hand up to my cheek and caressed it softly while he looked into my eyes.

”The more I spend time with you, the crazier about you I get,” he whispered and flashed a sad smile.

”You should go. Before something stupid happens,” I mumbled as he started leaning in, obviously trying to kiss me.

I held my breath and closed my eyes and waited for his lips to touch mine, but it never happened.

I opened my eyes and looked at his face that was only an inch away from mine. His eyes were wide open and he was biting his lip and I could've sworn that the whole moment was magical.

Since he didn't have the guts to kiss me, I wrapped my arms around his neck and crashed our lips together.

It was a hungry kiss and I could tell we both needed it because neither of us wanted to be the first one to let go.

The kiss continued even when he pushed me down on to my knees and I ended up laying on my back on the sand again, as he climbed on top of me, crushing me between his body and the sand. I brushed his hair with my hands as he kissed me. His hands were all over me, grabbing my ass, pulling my hair, caressing my skin.

Making out on our sex spot was the best thing that had happened to me in years. It brought back memories of us as teenagers being stupid and reckless on that very same beach. It brought back all the old feelings and suddenly I felt ecstatic. Brian wanted me. He really must've wanted me because there he was, kissing me and not willing to let go.

On second thoughts, maybe it wasn't such a good idea. I mean, even though we were on our little sex spot, I wasn't going to have sex with him. Why? Because he had a wife and they were happy together. I shouldn't have kissed him in the first place, let alone have a full make out session with him.

”Brian,” I whispered, pushing his head away from me, ”Not here. Not right now.”

I sat up and looked at him and couldn't help but notice how sad he looked.

”Why are you sad?” I asked quietly and touched his cheek. He shrugged.

”I... I don't know what to do. I can't stop thinking about you,” he admitted, ”And I feel so fucking bad for doing this to Michelle, but honestly... I don't even know.”

”It's going to be just fine, okay, we'll just forget about this and – ”

”But I don't want to forget about this. At first I thought that I could ignore all of my feelings for you. I thought that I was stronger than you and that I didn't have a problem with keeping my hands off you. But, fucking hell, Sophia, I need you by my side again,” he whispered and looked at me with his wide eyes.

”But you've been with Michelle for five years already,” I said and looked down at the sand between my feet, ”You can't just... End it like that.”

”I know. I can't leave her. But believe me, Soph, I do want to be with you,” he said. I nodded.

I got up on my feet and let out a deep sigh. Despite the fact that Brian had just practically told me that he wasn't going to leave his wife for me, and I didn't even want him to, I was happy. I'd gotten to spend time with him and all was well again.

”Maybe we shouldn't see each other in a while,” he said as we started walking away from the beach and to his car.

”Go back to the old life and see how it goes from there. We'll figure something out eventually,” he told me. I nodded and watched as he got in his car.

We waved goodbye and then he was gone.

I didn't see Brian at all during the next few weeks but despite that, my feelings for him had gotten a lot stronger. I was officially and very much in love with him and there wasn't a thing that could change that.

Huge things were happening to me, all at once, and one of them had to do with my work. You see, my boss, the very angry old lady, had decided that she was sick and tired of running the flower shop and she wanted me to take care of it by myself while she was retired. That meant, unfortunately, more working hours but it also meant extra money. Also, since we had always worked there alone, just the two of us, I had to hire somebody to help me. And, after looking for a few days, I found the perfect employee.

”Mathilda, can you take care of the roses that just arrived?” I exclaimed and looked at the teenager that was sitting on the bench on the other side of the room and playing with her phone.

Well, okay, maybe she wasn't the most perfect employee but she was a very charming young lady and she somehow reminded me of myself as a teenager.

She only worked for a few hours after school but she was a lot of help when she wasn't playing with her phone.

”What do you want me to do with them?” she asked me, putting her phone to her pocket and standing up.

”Make sure they look alright,” I said with a shrug. She sighed and went to the roses.

”Sophia? Can I ask you something?” she asked suddenly.

”Uh huh, yeah?”

”Do you know the band Avenged Sevenfold?”

”Uh... Yes,” I nodded.

”They live around here, don't they?”

”Yes, I suppose they do.”

”I think I saw their drummer yesterday,” she said, ”And I think he was about to come in here.”

”Right, okay?”

”Wouldn't it be so cool if he had come in?” she asked with a grin.

”I... I don't listen to their music.” Which was true because I really didn't. I only happened to know a few songs but that was it.

”How can you not? Oh, right, well... You are kind of old,” she said quietly and shrugged.

”I'm not ”kind of old” you little brat,” I said with a laugh, ”The band members are my age. Just so you know.”

”How do you know that?” she asked and cocked an eyebrow.

”I... I just know that,” I mumbled quickly.

”You are their fan, aren't you? You do listen to their music! You have probably googled them and drooled over their pictures!” she exclaimed.

”Get back to work, Mathilda,” I told her and pointed at the roses.

She rolled her eyes but did as told anyway. But only a few minutes later she opened her mouth again.

”Did you grow up here? In California?” she asked me.

”Yeah.”

”Then you must've seen the band members at least once, right?”

”Right.”

”So you have seen them! Have you actually met them? You know, because my brother is, like, their biggest fan and that would be so cool!” She was alle excited again.

”You're not going to shut up about this, are you?” I asked her. She shook her head.

”I kind of... I dated their guitar player,” I told her.

Her big eyes went really wide and for a moment there, I thought they'd pop off her head.

”Who? Synyster Gates? Or Zacky?”

”Uh... Brian.”

”Shut up! You have to be kidding me! Did you really date the Synyster Gates?” she exclaimed.

”Yes, now, shut your mouth and get back to work. You're making me feel like a teenager again,” I said.

”Have you stayed in contact with him? Are you guys friends?”

”Uh...”

”You are still friends, how cool is that!” she screamed.

The rest of my work day went by fast because Mathilda wanted to keep talking about Avenged Sevenfold and my ex boyfriend, and let's face it, I enjoyed talking about them, too.

”Do you need a ride home?” I asked my dearest employee as I turned off the lights and stepped out of the shop. I locked the door and started walking to my car.

”No,” she said with a grin, ”My brother will pick me up. He should be here any minute, now.”

”Oh, okay,” I nodded.

As I was driving home from work, I got a call from Brian. I instantly started grinning like a little teenager in love, and picked up.

”Hello?”

”Soph, I think we need to talk.”

The serious tone of his voice scared me slightly and I swallowed hard, not really knowing what to think of it all. Had something happened? Was something wrong?

”I'm in the car,” I told him, ”Driving home. What is it, Brian?”

”Can I come over? When you get home?”

”Uh... Sure.”

I drove as fast as I could and couldn't stop worrying about everything that could've possibly been wrong. What if something horrible had happened? What if somebody had died? What if...

You made me cry!:(:(:(
I loved the story, right from the first chapter. Sofia and Brian's first time, them separating, Brian marrying Michelle, Jimmy having feelings for Sophia, Sophia falling for Brian, Brian getting a divorce and marrying Sophia, the couple losing their child, and finally separating.

Loved it! But ending was really sad:(
