Eternal Blossom

Quandries

“So, how did your evening go? Did you go home with a certain heavy metal singer,” Aiyana asked Darcy the next night as they finished up cooking dinner together.

“Maybe. You know I don’t kiss and tell,” Darcy responded, a hand placed on her hip defiantly.

“Darce, you tell everything you know. Spill it,” Aiyana laughed over at her cousin, calling her bluff.

“Yes, I went home with him. It was… nice,” the red head replied with an impish grin as she relived her night with Matt in her mind.

“Just nice? Come on, Darce. You’ve got to give me more than that,” Aiya pried, needing to know down to the basis of her very nosey core if nice was the extent of it.

“He rocked my world. Is that what you wanted to hear? I couldn’t speak this morning because he had me yelling his name so loud,” Darcy laughed, tossing the pot holder at her cousin as her cheeks dusted with color.

Brian walked into the kitchen half way through, and visibly cringed before walking back out of the room just as quickly. The last thing that he wanted to hear the two girls talk about was them comparing notes on Matt in bed. Knowing that he’d been with Aiya had been enough, and he didn’t want to hear the details from her lips.

Aiyana saw Brian do a complete 180, and attempted to hold back her laughter with little success. Darcy looked at her and then turned to look over her shoulder at the empty doorway, wondering what caused the full belly laughs that her cousin was currently experiencing.

“What is it, I know I’m funny, but you’re laughing too hard for it to have just been me, dearie,” Darcy questioned as she opened the bottle of wine on the counter.

Aiyana caught her breath and got down a few wine glasses to be filled as she replied, “Brian started to walk in as you finally spilled, and he quickly took off. I don’t think he wanted to hear about Matt rockin’ your world.”

Darcy poured the wine, giggling softly at the image of Brian high tailing it out of the kitchen. Once the wine was poured, they plated up the now done meal. Aiyana yelled for Brian, and carried the plates to the table while Darcy grabbed their wine and a beer for Brian.

“Can we avoid the conversation of Matt’s penis at the dinner table? It’s not really what I want to think about while I put delectable morsels in my mouth,” Brian queried as he took his seat at the table.

“Fair enough, babe,” Aiyana laughed before leaning over to place a kiss on his jaw line.

“You two are just so cute it makes me sick to my stomach. You could constipate the Pope with all this lovey dovey stuff,” Darcy grinned from across the table, pointing her fork at the two of them.

Brian laughed, and Aiyana faked a hurt expression, holding her hand to her chest in mock horror. Darcy simply shrugged and took a bite of dinner, her eyes lighting up as the flavors of the lasagna hit her palate.

“So, how long are you in town, Darcy,” Brian asked before he began to eat.

“A few weeks, and then I have to get back to my da,” she answered simply, not wanting to get into the topic of her father’s failing health.

“How is he,” Aiyana asked between bites, watching her cousin for even the slightest of facial expressions that would show she was downplaying how sick he was.

“He’s got cancer, Aiya. He’s not exactly running marathons,” Darcy stated a little too sharply.

Immediately feeling bad for the way that she’d put her response, she bit her lip and took a deep breath through her nose. She hated that the topic had her so sensitive, and although she knew to expect the question, she’d failed to go about answering it kindly or diplomatically. Darcy took in the hurt that flickered over Aiyana’s face, and the tight jaw line of Brian. A few tense minutes passed before Darcy resolved to lighten the mood once again.

“So, Aiya, tell me, have you ever had those super random thoughts during sex,” Darcy asked out of the blue, her lilting voice light and inquisitive.

Aiyana broke a smile, and simply nodded as she took another bite of dinner. Darcy was renowned for her random thoughts and penchant for having no filter. She wasn’t going to be surprised if the red headed vixen’s random thought was one that made Brian spew beer all over the table.

“Like what,” Brian asked, taking the bait.

“Well, last night, he was thrustin’ away from behind me, and this thought just ran through my head of, ‘hmm… I wonder what he’d do if I moo’ed right now,’” Darcy answered, her face never faltering from the serious inquisitiveness other than the slight grin pulling up at the right corner of her mouth.

Brian leaned his head back and laughed loudly, “Please, tell me you made fucking barn yard animal sounds while Matt plowed you. Please.”

“Och, no. Of course I didn’t. I hardly know the guy,” she tisked before adopting a serious expression. “Do you think he’d prefer a moo or a baa?”

Aiyana dropped her fork, laughing loudly before she clutched her stomach that was beginning to hurt from laughing so hard. Brian wiped a few tears from his laughter away, and looked over at Aiyana to watch her laugh. The sound of her laughter always warmed his heart, and the sight was always a beautiful one to take in.

“Try each one, and let me know which one he prefers,” Aiyana replied with a giggle before picking up her wine glass and taking a sip.

Darcy grinned at her cousin, and wiggled her eyebrows playfully, hoping that the laughter made up for the harsh way she’d answered earlier.

As they finished eating, each of them would randomly start laughing again thinking about the random sounds one could make, and the various reactions they might garner from their partner. This of course resulted in various attempts at making baa’s, moo’s, and even an oink or two when the conversation would lull.

Before they knew it, dinner was over, and Darcy was gathering her things to head back to the hotel. When she picked up her phone, she turned the screen on to check the time and saw that she had a few missed text messages from Matt. With a huge grin, she simply sent him a quick text in response.

“I’ve got a long night ahead of me, Aiya. Do you have any lozenge,” the red head asked her cousin, her eyebrows going wild with innuendo.

Aiyana laughed and rifled through the cabinet she kept her meds in before finding the cough drops. Passing the bag over to her cousin, she then quickly wrapped her in a hug and let her know she’d talk to her soon. Brian gave her a hug as well, glad that he’d gotten to know the Scottish woman a little since she was someone that was obviously important to his Aiya.

Once Darcy was out the door, Aiyana turned to Brian and wrapped her arms around his waist, her forehead meeting his chest gently. Brian smiled down at her and circled her body with his arms, rubbing her back lightly with his hands.

“If you make any animal sounds while we have sex, I’m moving out,” Aiyana muttered against his chest.

This drew a hearty laughter from Brian, and the sound of his laughter made her smile widely. She knew that being the jokester he was, he would have tried it if she hadn’t warned him not to.

“I think I will be able to refrain considering the magnitude of the consequences,” he stated before kissing the top of her head.

“Good.” Aiyana raised her head and looked into his molten chocolate eyes, smiling at him.
“What do you think about a little late night star gazing from the beach?”

Brian gave her a smirk, and let her go so that he would get the blanket. It was a favorite past time of theirs when he wasn’t too tired from the studio and she wasn’t being entertained by her muse. Watching him walk to the linen closet, she walked to the fridge and grabbed the picnic basket before placing drinks and the chocolate covered strawberries into it that she’d made before Darcy got there.

Meeting at the back door, they linked their free hands, their fingers quickly entangling before they made their way out the door and down to the sand. Aiyana looked around, taking note of how empty the beach right there was. Once they’d gotten a few feet from the surf, Brian let go of her hand and spread the blanket out for the two of them to sit on.

Both kicked off their shoes before dropping to the blanket. Aiyana sat the basket down and grabbed the drinks before looking over at Brian who was reclined onto his elbows, his feet out directly in front of him as he watched the waves crashing on the shore.

“Here. I brought you a beer,” Aiyana told him as she held the beer out in easy reach for him.

“You know me too well, baby,” he smirked over at her, taking the offered beer.

“I just know that there’s little you drink other than beer when you’re relaxing. I’m sure countless people know that,” she challenged.

Brian raised an eyebrow in question before nodding a little in agreement. It was true that they had a great fan base, but a fan base that also liked to know any and everything about them as well. There was very little about their private lives that was kept private without going through a lot of extra caution.

“You know, I got a call from Dad this week. Apparently there are a few pictures of us at the grocery store in some tabloid,” Aiyana told Brian, crossing her legs as she looked over at him.

“It was bound to happen eventually. I’m surprised we’ve managed to keep the two of us out of the news for as long as we have. What did it say,” Brian responded, looking up at her in an attempt to read her thoughts as if he could pull her thoughts through the blue-grey portals to her soul.

“There was a picture of us kissing on the wine aisle, and it said that the beast lead guitarist of Avenged had a new harlot,” Aiyana smirked down at him. “I thought it was actually a little witty. Corny, yes, but still a little witty.”

Brian chuckled and took a sip of his beer before looking back out at the ocean, his voice washing over her like the waves on the shore, “little do they know that this harlot has stolen my heart completely. This raven haired beauty has bewitched me into leaving behind my prior ways, and the only thing I want now is to ensure her happiness.”

Aiyana smiled brightly, all thoughts of how the paper had compared her to his prior love them and leave them lovers was left in the turf. Leaning over, she kissed him softly, her fingers grazing gently over his strong jaw line.

“You make me endlessly happy, Brian,” Aiyana told him once their lips parted.

Brian cupped the side of her face in the palm of his hand and ran his thumb over her bottom lip. His gaze flickered from her lips up to her eyes that were shining with love and back again before he pulled her down into another kiss.

“That’s my goal in life, babe. I want you to be happy. Of course, I also want to make kick ass music,” he mused, laying back on the blanket and staring at the few stars that could be seen.

“Well, you’ve been making kick ass music for years now, and from what ya’ll laid down in the studio, I’d say you’re still going strong,” Aiyana smiled down at him before curling up with her head on his chest.

“I’m glad you think so. If you didn’t, I don’t know how happy I could make you,” he grinned.

“Are you saying that you’d leave me if I thought your music sucked,” Aiyana gasped in an exaggerated valley girl accent.

“No, I’m saying I’d lock you in the closet and only keep you around for the sex,” he laughed, catching her wrist when she went to shove his shoulder playfully.

“You’re lucky you’re so damn cute, Haner,” Aiyana laughed.

“I am cute, aren’t I,” he responded cheekily, grinning up at the sky.

Laughing, Aiyana sat up and pulled the basket closer to get ahold of the strawberries that she’d stored inside. Pulling them out, she took a bite with a lackadaisical shrug in reply.

“Are you going to feed me one of those, or let me starve,” he asked, eyeing the strawberry as it was raised to her full lips for a second bite.

“I don’t know. Were you going to feed me if you had to lock me in the closet,” she asked in response.

Brian growled playfully and grabbed her wrist. Pulling her arm down, he took a bite of the strawberry while giving her a wink. The way that they bantered and rarely took anything to heart was one of his favorite things about their relationship.

“To be honest, I’d have to. It’s rare to find someone that’s on the same mental pathways as yourself that is also amazing in the sack. That, and I don’t look good in prison orange. Murder is illegal you know.”

“I will gladly take that sideways compliment,” she laughed before handing him a strawberry from inside the basket.

“Sideways, horizontal, vertical. Who cares. It was a compliment, and I meant it,” he told her before eating his strawberry with his other hand placed behind his head to act as a pillow.

“I love you, Brian,” Aiyana told him honestly as she looked out at the ocean.

“And I love you, Aiya,” he told her with a smirk.

Brian grabbed her shoulders and pulled her back down to the blanket where they cuddled, laughed, and continued to talk until the strawberries were gone and Aiyana was getting too tired to keep up with the topic.
