Welcome to the Family

Welcome to the Family

Johnny’s house was absolutely beautiful.

It was an Italian looking house not too far from the ocean, I guess Zack lived a few streets up – he had an ocean front house. They had said that Matt and Brian also had ocean front houses, but that John*ny didn’t like being that close to the ocean like they did. Of course not, he grew up in the mountains, he was never too big on water to begin with – another reason we were all shocked when he ran off to California.

“Will you stay with Johnny, or with me?” Zack asked as we got out.

“I assume Johnny will think I’m staying with him… I mean don’t get mad it’s not that I wouldn’t stay with you…” I suddenly got nervous I didn’t think about staying anywhere but with Johnny.

“No, that’s fine. I assumed, I was just making sure so I didn’t just like leave you here and you thought you’d go with me then.” He laughed. “No worries babe.”

“You’re not far away apparently.” I said nudging him as we walked up to the door, Johnny opened the door and immediately hugged us.

“I’ve been waiting!” He smiled. “Come in, Lacey is here.”

I looked at him questioningly as this beautiful woman with dark hair walked in. she took Johnny’s hand and offered a warm smile, she already knew Zack so she said hello to him first.

“Lacey this is my younger sister Bailey, Bailey this is my girlfriend Lacey.” Johnny said nervously. “I haven’t told the family about her because it’s almost too good to be true and I’m afraid of what everyone would think.”

“I think she’s beautiful.” I smiled hugging her. “How long have you guys been together?”

“Just shy of a year.” She smiled. “He’s told me so much about you.”

“How about we unpack everything, you girls go talk and get ready for that party tonight.”

“Party?” I asked looking at Johnny again, he just smiled and shrugged.

“How will I show you off if not the Johnny Christ way.” He laughed. “It’s not gonna be big.”

Lacey laughed and took me by the arm, leading me towards the kitchen. She got me a drink and asked if I was hungry before setting out all the party trays and putting all the beer on ice and taking it outside. She offered me a bikini to wear, one she said was one she never really liked cause it didn’t fit well but it was beautiful.

“Can keep it if you want.” She shrugged. “Honest, I don’t like it. It doesn’t fit me well.”

“Thank you.” I said hugging her. “I’m gonna go change then, I’m sure it’ll start soon – I’m not much of a party person you know.”

“It’s just the band and a few friends.” She shrugged. “It’ll be okay.”

A while later everyone was getting a bit drunk and Johnny had introduced me to everyone, some of them even twice. I was starting to get a bit drunker, not really feeling the best. I don’t know if it was my nerves or the fact that I had mixed different types of alcohol, but everyone else was doing it without any problem.

A few people had stolen Zack away to play some type of game, I stayed in the pool with Lacey and Val. I had stopped drinking but didn’t feel like I was getting any more sober as time passed.

Zack had gotten pretty drunk and for some reason I had lost track of him, before I knew it people were leaving and I was being ushered inside. I kept asking where he was but I was ignored. Johnny was mad, but that’s nothing new.

“Let’s get you to bed.” Brian said taking my arm, he wrapped a towel around me and helped me up the stairs. “Zack’ll just kill me if he comes back and you haven’t been taken care of.”
“I don’t need help walking.” I said pushing away from him, he chuckled and kept an arm around me. I was thankful though because I immediately tripped on my two left feet nearly falling onto my face right into the house. I was hammered. No amount of water would help.
The next thing my brain decided to remember was how dark the bedroom was and how uninviting it was. This was not my house, this was a very foreign place to me and without Zack by my side I felt so lost and afraid. With him, I could do anything. I could face the world, but alone I felt cold, tired and lost.

The next thing I knew I was being put into a bed, Brian was trying to get me covered up but I wasn’t having it.

“Goodnight Bailey. I put Tylenol and some water by your bed… you’re gonna need it. Welcome to California.”

When I woke up I was alone, a note scrawled and left underneath the Tylenol bottle that begged for me to read it but my migraine from the hangover I was suffering from was begging for a shower. I took a steaming hot shower, luckily my stuff was in my room so I could change out of the bathing suit I had been wearing last night.

I came back out and took medicine with a full glass of water then decided to look at the message that was left, it read:

Hey baby,

Well, this is Brian writing this – but the message is from Zack. After the fight last night his phone was broken. He went home said he has an interview at 10 am, said I am to pick you up around 9:30 and we’ll meet him at the place … or maybe he said (a lot of scratched out things) ok I forgot ha ha see you at 9:30 we’ll figure it out.
Love always,
Stud Muffin
Oh, and Zack.
p.s. take the medicine I left for you, kk?
p.s.s. I found chocolate in one of your bags as I moved them to your room. I will not be returning the chocolate, thanks for the snackrifice. xoxo

I laughed before looking at the clock. 9:15. I rushed to get ready and then ran downstairs to tell Lacey and Johnny where I was going, when I got down there Lacey was at the table drinking coffee.

“He won’t be up for an hour or two at the earliest.” She said not even looking at me. “Do you feel okay? You were pretty drunk.”

I blushed. “Yeah, I haven’t really drank drank … well… ever.” I admitted. “I mean I drink but not to that extent.”

“Well, after Zack left I think everyone was just concerned for you.”

“Why did Zack leave?” I asked.

“I’ll tell Johnny you’re gonna be gone for the day.” She said side stepping the subject. “Brian already told me he’s picking you up.”

“Okay.” I nodded. “Thank you.”

I heard a single honk so I went outside, grabbing sunglasses as I walked out. This place was beautiful and the sun felt good but my god was it bright, doesn’t help that I have blue eyes – the most sensitive eyes to have. Brian got out and made it a point act like he was a butler or something and open my door for me.

“Madam.” He said exaggeratedly. “Your chariot.”

“Thank you.” I smiled getting in elegantly.

“Okay, so we’re gonna go to breakfast cause Zack told me to feed you. Not too much, said he wants to have a late lunch with you.” Brian said getting back in the car, moving his sunglasses down his nose just enough to see me over them.

“I’m not too hungry.” I said taking a sip of water from the bottle of water I had grabbed. “I’ll tell him you fed me.”

He nodded and turned up the music a bit, it was oingo boingo. I wasn’t really a fan, but apparently Brian was. We listened to the music quietly and by quietly I mean he was car dancing and I was laughing.

“So where are we even going?” I asked.

“Zack is on a radio show.” Brian said turning down the music a fraction. “I bet we can find it here.” He searched his radio for the right station then before I knew it I heard Zack’s voice over the speakers.

“So Zacky V, anything else going on in your life? You disappeared there for a little, I guess you went to stay on a ranch with your Bassist Johnny Christ – tell me a bit about that.”

“Oh man, it was beautiful there. You know? It was so nice to sit back and just kinda relax. It was quiet too.” He chuckled.

“You know, everyone’s been talking I guess you were seen with some blonde… anything you wanna tell us?”

Brian started laughing and nudged me. He had parked us somewhere by the beach, I think he was listening too intently to really drive without causing an accident.

“Do you think he’ll mention you?” Brian asked. “He never stopped talking about you since he first saw you.”

“Yeah, you know…” Zack’s voice came through the speakers. “She’s beautiful, I’ll tell you that. But I don’t know what else I can tell you about that, except that if I tell you I’m single she’ll be very mad.”

The radio host laughed, but happily moved the conversation back to their tour coming in the spring. I sat there, numb but at the same time my whole body tingled. Zack was talking about me.

Me.

The host had heard rumors already.

Zack was right, there was no turning back now.

A smile crept onto my lips and a blush to my face, Brian had started driving again – hopefully taking me to Zack. I had forgotten to ask about the fight that happened last night, my brain was too cluttered with hearts and soft thoughts and my stomach full of butterflies.

That was wonderful! I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen on tour! I’m so glad you decided to do a sequel!

Oh poor Bailey and Zacky. I love those two together so much. I hope you decide on a sequel, I’m not ready for this story to end:

I’ve been a relatively silent reader with this story but I justed wanted to say how much I’m loving it! I love the dynamic between Zacky and Bailey...I just hope she and Johnny can fix their relationship. Keep it up and i can’t wait for more!

I'm so in love with this story ♥♥♥
