Here's to New Beginnings

The next morning I woke up with a pounding head and the sound of light snores beside me. My breath caught in my throat. I knew I had went to bed alone last night, but who was in bed with me!? I rolled over slowly to reveal Zack sleeping like a log.

I quickly set up in bed and punched Zack in the shoulder.

"What the fuck are you doing, Baker?!" I shouted.

"Huh? What? Where's the fire?!" Zack mumbled as he flailed around in the bed, causing himself to fall off the side.

I let out a loud laugh. "What the hell are you doing in here?" I asked as he slowly stood up.

"Well I woke up to pee and didn't feel like going back downstairs, so I just came in here" he said flatly as he climbed back in the bed.

"Jesus. Can't a girl sleep alone in this house?" I said with a huff as I threw the covers back and made my way to the bathroom.

"Not in this house", Zack said with a chuckle.

On my way to the bathroom, I passed Brian in the hall. He looked half dead and grunted a good morning to me.

I laughed as I went in the bathroom. I took a hot shower to try and wash off some of the hangover and dressed myself in a pair of denim shorts and a gray v-neck tshirt. I threw on light makeup, put some mousse in my hair to make it curly, and decided to venture downstairs to see who was awake.

As expected, Jimmy was still passed out on the couch. Brian was now sitting at the bar top with his head in his hands and Michelle was standing in the kitchen drinking a cup of coffee.

"Brian, go wake Jimmy up so we can get this shit over with" I said as I walked passed him, making a bee line for the fridge. There was a can of Coke in there with my name on it.

"JIMMY! GET THE FUCK UP!" Brian shouted from his spot on the bar stool.

"Jesus, Brian. I could have done that myself" I said as Michelle laughed.

About an hour later, the guys were all up and moving and ready to head out. Michelle and I told them we would meet them at my parents' house and set out to get some donuts for breakfast.

Once the guys ate almost all the donuts, we loaded up all of my stuff from my parents house and headed to the rental house. It was a cute 3 bedroom house with a fireplace in the living room and a huge backyard.

"Wow, it's just as I remembered" I said as I walked into the house and sat a box down on the kitchen counter.

Once we unloaded all of my stuff, Brian and Matt decided to hook up my electronics for me while Michelle and I unpacked some boxes. Zack was in charge of unpacking the books for my book case, Jimmy was keeping Michelle and I entertained as we unpacked the kitchen boxes, and Johnny was walking around drinking beer and telling everyone what they were doing wrong.

I was unpacking a box of plates when Zack walked into the kitchen.

"Looky what I found" he said as he held up a picture frame. It was a picture of me, Michelle, and the guys. Taken in the backyard of the rental house. Jimmy had some goofy look on his face, Zack was laughing at Jimmy, Johnny was chugging a beer, Brian was kissing Michelle's cheek, and Matt had his arms around me. I smiled at the memory.

"That's one of my favorite pictures" I said with a smile.

"I also found this" he said as he held up my sketch pad. "I didn't know you were still into this" he said as he flipped through the pages.

"Yup. I'm hoping that sketch pad will help land me a job in some sort of clothing industry" I said with a chuckle.

"Well" he said with a sigh, "you're in luck because I need a designer at VU".

I stopped dead in my tracks and looked at him. "Are you serious?"

"Well, yeah" he said incrediously. "With designs like this, I better scoop you up before another company does".

"Thank you SO much, Zee!" I said as I walked through the kitchen to give him a hug.

"Don't mention it. I know you're gonna make some kick ass designs" he said as he hugged me back.

The next few hours were spent unpacking and hanging out with my best friends. We ordered pizza and drank beer and reminisced on our nights in the rental house.
