Here's to New Beginnings

I was home a whole two days before anyone knew I was home. Matt had texted me a few times just to check in and make sure I was doing okay, but for the most part I stayed under the radar. I just needed time to myself. To gather myself, collect my thoughts, and figure out what the hell I was going to do next.

I was laying in my bed, trying to take a nap, when the door to my bedroom flew open and a surprised, flustered Brian appeared in the door way.

"Well, hello" I said, surprised.

"Lilianna Chase. What the fuck are you doing here and why the hell didn't you call me?!" he said, almost yelling at me.

"Relax, Brian. I was going to call you today. I moved home" I said calmly. "How did you know I was home anyway?"

"I ran into your mom at the grocery store. She let it slip that you had moved back home. What the hell happened?" he said, his voice a lot softer than it was before.

I scooted over on my bed and patted the spot next to me. Brian sat down beside me and I began telling him what had happened over the past week and how Matt had flew in to help me on the drive.

"So, you called Matt instead of me?" He asked, incredulously.

"Well, yeah. If I would have called you, you would have turned the car around to go back and kick his ass" I said with a knowing tone.

Brian let out a laugh. "Yeah, you're probably right. So, what now?"

"Well" I said with a sigh. "Now I have to find a job and get my own place because I love my parents and all, but damn do I miss having my own space".

"Dad still has that rental house on Little Harbor. I can talk to him and see if it's still available" he offered.

"Thanks, Bri. That would be great" I said with a smile.

"You know what you need?" he asked, a mischievous grin on his face.

"What's that?" I said, nervously.

"You need a night with the guys. We can hang out at my place and get hammered" he replied, excitedly.

"You know what, I think you're right" I said with a grin.

"Good then it's settled" Brian said as he hopped off my bed. "Now, go wash your smelly ass and then we'll go talk to my old man and head over to my house."

I laughed. "Okay. Give me about 20 minutes and I'll be ready to go".

I jumped in the shower just as Brian was calling his dad. When I got out, I threw on a pair of ripped skinny jeans, my favorite AC/DC tee, and a pair of Vans. I did my makeup light, just putting on the essentials, and threw my wet hair into a bun.

I walked out of the bathroom as Brian was getting off the phone.

"You'd better pack a bag for tonight, because we aren't going to be driving anywhere" he said with a chuckle.

I laughed and threw some pajamas and clothes for the next day in a backpack and we headed out the door. We got into Brian's car and drove over to his dad's house. His dad was sitting outside when we pulled in.

"Looks like someone is excited to see you" Brian said with a chuckle as we got out of the car.

I laughed as we walked over to Senior. He pulled me into a hug and squeezed me gently.

"It's so good to see you, Lily. Welcome home" he said. He put his hands on my shoulders.

"Let me get a good look at you. Are you okay? Want me to kick his ass?"

I laughed loudly. "I'm doing just fine. No ass kicking needed."

He gave me a wink and turned to lead us into the house. When we got into the house, Suzy and Makenna greeted Brian and I with hugs.

"I'm glad you're home, Lily. Maybe you can keep these boys out of trouble" Suzy said, giving Brian the side eye.

I laugh as Brian shrugged his shoulders. "I don't even think that is possible anymore, but I will do my best" I said.

"So, Bri tells me that you're looking for a place of your own" Brian Sr said as we sat down in the living room. "You're in luck. The renal house just opened up last week. Here are the keys" he said, pulling a set of keys from his pocket and giving them to me.

I looked at him with wide eyes. "Are you sure? I mean I'm not even sure that I have the money to pay the deposit".

He waved me off. "I'm not worried about the deposit. You can move in tomorrow and we will work everything else out" he replied.

"Thank you so so much" I said, jumping off the couch to give him a hug.

"No need to thank me", he said with a chuckle as he hugged me back. "You know you've always been like a daughter to me. Just make sure you invite us over for dinner".

"Most definitely" I said with a laugh as I returned to my seat on the couch.

Brian and I stayed a little longer before it was time to head to his house.

"Come on, Mich is dying to see you" he said, heading for the door.

"Let's get fucking drunk!" he yelled as we pulled out of his dad's driveway.

I shook my head and laughed loudly, excited to see my best friends.
