The Wild Ride

One.

“Lincoln come here!” Peyton laughed, chasing after her naked toddler, who was headed straight for the back yard where everyone was hanging out to celebrate his second birthday. “Whoa there little man.” Zack said, grabbing the boy just as he was about to open the door. “How about we help Mama out a little bit and get a diaper and some clothes on, then we will go see your uncles okay?” He said, walking toward Peyton with a smile on his face. “Sorry. As soon as he heard Johnny’s big ass mouth he took off.” Peyton sighed, reaching for her son, only to have Zack pull him back. “Go on outside baby. I’ll get him dressed.” He said, kissing her softly. “Okay. His clothes are on the bed. I already soaked him down with sunscreen and his hat is on the dresser.” She explained, handing the diaper in her hand to her husband and following him to Lincoln’s bedroom. “Peyton.” Zack huffed, noticing her standing in the doorway. “Go outside. Socialize. Be with your friends. We’ve got this, don’t we little man.” He said, grinning down at the blue eyed boy. “Okay fine.” Peyton sighed, walking into the room to kiss his cheek. “Love you Zee.” “Love you too babe.” He said, swatting her rear as she walked away. “Hands off, Baker!” She said with a laugh as she walked downstairs and headed for the back yard.

The Bakers’ back yard was full of their friends and family, everyone talking and laughing. Matt was manning the grill, and Johnny was passing out drinks. “Hey Peanut, what are you drinking?” The bassist asked, smiling down at her. “Nothing that you’re serving.” She said sarcastically, pouring herself a glass of wine. “Ouch. That stings a little bit. Are you saying you don’t trust me?” He asked with a smile on his face. “No, I’m saying I don’t want to be wasted at my son’s birthday party.” She laughed, wrapping her arm around his waist. “Where’ve you been, Gremlin? I haven’t seen you around in a few days.” “Well, Uh. You see.” He stuttered as Peyton looked at him with a confused expression. “I couldn’t come over because if I would have come over then I would have given little man his present and Lacey said I couldn’t give it to him until his birthday.” He blurted out, which caused Peyton to burst into laughter. “You’re kidding, right?” She asked in between laughs. “You seriously can’t say no to him?” “No! I can’t! He suckers me in with his big blue eyes and chubby little face.” The bassist huffed, while Peyton was still laughing. “What is so funny?” Brian asked as he approached the group. “Johnny. Johnny is what’s so funny.” Peyton said as her laughter died down. “He didn’t come over for like a week and a half because he wouldn’t have been able to stop himself from giving Linc his birthday present.” Brian looked over at Johnny with a smirk. “Dont even say anything, Brian.” The shorter man said as he walked away, which made Peyton start laughing again. “You’re in a good mood today. Any nightmares lately?” Her pseudo-brother asked, slinging an arm over her shoulders. She smiled and shook her head, “Not lately. Hopefully they’ll stop soon. I mean, it’s been two years. I can’t move past it if I keep having nightmares about it.” She spoke softly, referring to the day that Jason attacked her and tried to kill both her and Lincoln in her garage. “I get it. Hopefully they’ll stay away, I like seeing you actually relax and enjoy yourself.” Brian said, looking down at her through his aviators. Peyton was about to reply when she heard her son’s happy squeals fill the backyard. “Biiiiiiiiii!” Lincoln shouted as he launched himself into his godfather’s arms. “Hey wild man! You been good for your mom?” He asked the little boy, who nodded his head “Good. You ready for some cake and presents?” “YES!” Lincoln shouted excitedly. “Good, let’s go see uncle Matt and see if he’s finished with the food. If he’s not then we can kick his ass, how about that?” Brian asked the kid and headed toward Matt and the grill. “Brian.” Peyton said sternly. When her brother turned his head and winked at her, she almost wanted to punch him. “He’s such a jackass.” Zack said, walking up behind her and resting his chin on her shoulder. “How did you talk Matt into grilling?” Peyton asked, watching the two men interact with their nephew. “Well, I had just put the food in there and then I saw this little flash of naked baby running through the house. I asked him to take over so I could give you a hand.” Her husband explained with a chuckle. “Okay you two. Mingle with your friends. You can stand here and talked to each other later.” Becky Smith said with a laugh, kissing her daughter and son in law on the cheek. “I’m going to go steal my grandson away from Brian.” Peyton laughed and grabbed her glass of wine, walking over to sit with Lacey, Michelle, and an extremely pregnant Val.

A few hours later, Peyton flopped onto the couch with a sigh. “He is knocked out. We need to invite Johnny over more often.” She chuckled. Zack smiled softly and handed her a glass of wine before sitting beside her. “He had a fun day today. He loves it when his uncles and grandparents are all in the same place, giving him a shitload of attention.” Peyton laughed quietly and nodded, “It was a good day.” “So babe. Now that Linc is two, what do you think about maybe having another one?” Zack asked rubbing his hand on her thigh. “What?” Peyton asked, sitting up to look at him. “Already?” “Pey, he’s two. He needs a little brother or sister to play with. If you get pregnant in the fall then he will be three by the time the baby is born.” The green eyed man explained. “Besides, you can’t tell me you haven’t been wanting a little girl. I see you staring at all of that pink shit in the baby stores. So why not try for one?” “I know. It’s just, he’s my baby, Zee. He just got to where he’s big enough for us to be able to do stuff with him.” Peyton sighed. “Okay, how about this, we don’t have to try, but we can stop trying to prevent it?” He offered. Peyton sat there for a few minutes before nodding. “Okay. But this also means we have to practice a lot.” Zack laughed loudly and pulled her close to him, “Baby, we can practice as much as you want.” He said, kissing the side of her head. They spent the rest of their evening on the couch, watching tv and relaxing before deciding to call it an early night, knowing their little guy will be waking up before sunrise the next morning.

Oh Veng... I'm so sorry, honey <3 I only hope writing can bring you some relief, and maybe a little smile xxox

I am so sorry for your loss :(

we appreciate you updating! Hopefully you’ll be able to get lost in that to help numb the pain a bit. I know it helped me when my grandfather passed away.

GET HER, PEY! What a fucking bitch! Who says that shit to someone?! *fucking livid face*

@vengenz61 I think it would be really cathartic for you to let your feelings run free in a creative environment honey <3

@overneaththepathofmisery
She has been a smoker for years, but she is determined to beat it. I however, am struggling. I’m on the fence about adding it into one of my stories, writing is how I kind of deal with the shit in my life. I’m just kind of holding it all in at the moment.
