You Said You'd Never Leave Me

Soon the Halloween party was in full effect. Everyone has arrived, Candy included. I honestly wished that Brian told her not to bother coming so I could spend the night with him but as soon as Candy got to the party, it was like I didn’t exist. I liked him, and I thought he liked me too but maybe I was reading him wrong. Maybe I wasn’t the type of girl he wanted to be with. I mean, I didn’t look skanky and I sure as hell wouldn’t go to a Halloween party dressed like Vivian, the hooker from Pretty Woman. Though in my opinion, it was like Candy’s everyday attire.

“Hey, what are you doing here sitting in the corner all alone?”

I looked up and found Alexis standing there. “Hey,” I muttered.

Alexis frowned and took a seat on the sofa beside me. “What’s wrong? You don’t seem happy anymore.”

I let out a scoff. “You’re right, I’m not.”

“So, what’s wrong?”

“Brian.”

“Ah.”

“I…just…I had hoped that Brian would have told Candy not to bother coming. I was excited to spend some time with him but then she came and now it’s like I don’t exist. He hasn’t said one word to me since she got here. I just feel like I don’t want to do this anymore. I just want to tell everyone to get the fuck out of my house and crawl into bed and forget today.”

Alexis reached over and grabbed my hand, giving it a light squeeze. “Oh honey, don’t do that to yourself. Brian’s just a douche. C’mon, come get a drink. Matt and Gracie just made a new cocktail and it tastes so damn good. I need another.”

I smiled. “You really like him, don’t you?”

She looked at me puzzled. “Who?” She asked, playing dumb.

I looked at her and raised my eyebrows. “Alexis don’t be playing dumb with me. I’m talking about Matt. You really like him.”

She ducked her head and shrugged. “I-I guess so. I want to ask him out but I’m just not sure he likes me back.”

I let out a light chuckle. “Trust me Alexis, he likes you too. He won’t turn you down.”

“Really?”

I nodded. “Yes, ask him out. Trust me.”

Alexis grinned and stood up, grabbing my hand and pulling me off the sofa. I followed her into the kitchen and grabbed a drink. “Whoa, it really is good. What’s this called?”

Gracie shrugged. “Not sure yet but I’m certain it’ll be named tomorrow.”

Suddenly, we all heard yelling coming from outside. Everyone began to race out to the backyard to find what was going on. “Oh c’mon,” I muttered.

I walked outside and pushed myself to the front of the crowd to find Brian and Candy, yelling at each other. I rolled my eyes and sighed. “I knew this would happen.”

“YOU ASSHOLE!” She screamed, pushing him.

Brian stood there, his nostrils flaring. I knew he was about to be pushed to his limits because this is exactly what happened when he and I got into it. “SAY SOMETHING!” Candy screamed, once more.

No response.

I knew if someone didn’t step in, Brian was going to be arrested for assault. I stepped forward and moved between the two. “Candy, fucking stop!” I sneered.

“This is all your fucking fault.” she snapped.

“My fault?”

“Before you got here, Brian was about me. Now you’re taking me away from me.”

“Good. He deserves more than your slutty ass. I bet Brian isn’t the only one.”

Candy went white in the face. I smirked, knowing I had caught her. “I have no clue what you’re talking about,” she muttered angrily.

I rolled my eyes. Fuck, I was going to have massive headache shortly if I kept it up. “That’s it, just keep lying.”

“I’m not fucking lying!”

I raised my eyebrows and stared at her. “You don’t deserve Brian.”

She looked at me for a moment before reaching up and slapping me across the face. I gritted my teeth, feeling the taste of blood in my mouth. “You little bitch,” I muttered, spitting blood onto the ground.

I looked up at her and wiped my mouth, before curling my hand into a fist and punching her square in the nose. Candy collapsed to the ground with a scream and began to cry. Blood trickling down her face. “Get the fuck out of my house,” I sneered. “And go back to your corner.”

She scrambled up from the ground and raced back into the house. I looked up and stared at everyone. I had had enough of this goddamn party. “Alright everyone, party is over. Get the fuck out before I call the police on my own party.”

Everyone groaned and made their way out of my house. Soon the only people left were the Avenged boys and the girls. “You guys are welcome to crash the night. You know where the spare rooms are. I’m going to ice my fucking hand and cheek.”

I didn’t wait for any replies and I didn’t even look at Brian. His reaction was not something I wanted to see.

Grabbing some ice from the freezer, I made my way upstairs to my bedroom and slammed the door behind me. I removed my outfit with force and slipped on some other clothes. All I wanted to do is go to sleep and get this day over with. As I was about to climb into bed, my door flung open. I turned around to see who the fuck stormed into my room. “What the fu-.”

I was cut off by a pair of lips touching mine. After a few moments, I pulled back. “W-what are you doing Brian?”

He smirked and touched my chin softly. “Something I’ve wanted to do all night.”

I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck. “Really?”

“Yes, I’ve wanted to kiss you ever since you came over and we talked.”

“Well…why didn’t you?”

“Because…Candy…I mean I know that I’m an asshole and go from girl to girl, but I don’t sleep or kiss anyone else until I break it off.”

I pulled away. “So now that you’re done with Candy, you’re moving on with me?”

He reached out to grab my hand, but I moved out of his reach. “N-no,” I muttered, moving over to my bed. “I-I think you should leave Brian.”

“No Al, that’s not what I meant. Please just let me explain.”

I looked up at him, tears pooling in my eyes. I thought I just wanted to sleep with Brian, but we’ve grown close again since we talked, and I had come to the realization that my feelings for him were more. I realized that I didn’t want to become another one of his conquests. I wanted more from him.

Brian must’ve noticed the tears in my eyes, because he walked over to the bed and sat down beside me. “I like you Allie and it fucking scares me.”

I felt like someone had sucked all the breath out of my lungs. I never expected to hear those words come out of his mouth. I looked at him, not saying a word.

He let out a sigh and grabbed my hand. I didn’t stop him this time. “I like you Allie and it’s not a ‘I’m just saying that, so you’ll sleep me’ kind of thing but I mean I really like you. You’re not like most girls. You don’t take shit from people, as we saw tonight. You know what you want, you’re beautiful and smart. I love that about you. You’ve brought feelings up that I never thought I’d feel again and I’m thankful for it. I want to give this a go with you, but I want to take it slow. I haven’t been in a proper relationship for a long time and I don’t want to mess it up.”

I smiled and leaned over, pressing my lips against him in a soft kiss. “Okay,” I whispered.

“Really?” He asked softly.

I nodded. “Yes.”

Brian’s face broke out into a grin before he pounced on me. I let out a squeal and giggled, kissing him tenderly. He pulled away and moved some hair from my face and lightly caressed my lips. “I’m taking over your showers for a few minutes then coming back,” he muttered.

I nodded and kissed him again. “I’ll be here waiting. There’s spare towels in the closet in the bathroom.”

He smiled and pressed one last kiss to my lips before hopping off me and walking into the bathroom.

I laid there with a smile on my face. Replaying Brian’s words through my head. He wanted to try having a relationship with me. For the first time in 2 years, I finally felt truly happy.

8 days since my last update. Sorry it took so long guys. I've been on bed rest for the last week. I've missed so many shifts at work because of this stupid sickness that I got from other co-workers and customers. Always fun when you lose your voice and shit. I hate it.
