You Said You'd Never Leave Me

I must’ve fell asleep next to Brian because the next thing I knew, we both were woken up by loud banging. Brian sat up and wiped at his eyes before standing up and opening the bedroom door to find the rest of the boys standing there with grins on their faces. “Take it you both made up?” Jimmy asked with suggestive eyebrows.

“Yeah but not the way you’re thinking man,” Brian replied, shaking his head.

“OK, awesome, now that’s out of the way, c’mon we got band practice to get to.”

Brian nodded and waved the boys away. “Bye,” he said, slamming the door in their faces.

“Aw c’mon man,” Jimmy’s muffled voice said through the door before he was dragged away.

I giggled and moved to the edge of the bed, slipping my sneakers back onto my feet. Brian watched as I stood up and fixed my hair, grabbing a Led Zeppelin shirt from his closet and tugging it on. I was a bit sad to say goodbye to shirtless Brian but also happy because any longer and I probably would’ve fucked the absolute shit out of him.

He slipped on some shoes and opened the bedroom door, I gave him a small smile, and left the room, making my way downstairs. Mallory, Gracie and Johnny’s girlfriend Sammi were downstairs playing with McKenna when I entered the living room. “Hey girl,” Gracie said, looking up at me with a smile.

“Hey,” I replied, taking a sit next to Mallory.

I watched as Brian walked past without a word and made his way to another door and disappearing behind it. “How it’d go?” Mallory asked, nudging my arm.

I looked at her and shrugged my shoulders. “I think it went okay. We haven’t spoken a word since he fell asleep in my arms earlier. I made him a promise. I told him I was staying. He didn’t believe me at first because I was thinking of leaving after what happened at the party between us but after our talk and finding out his feelings, I decided to stay. Brian was hurt, that’s all. I made him a promise when we were younger that I’d never leave, and I ended up breaking that promise because of my parents. But I’m back here now and I’m staying.”

Mallory hugged me tightly and nodded. “That’s good baby-girl.”

Suzy appeared out of nowhere and swooped up her daughter in her arms, smiling down at us all. “Alright girls, it’s time for McKenna’s nap. The boys are waiting for you in the music studio.”

We nodded and said bye to McKenna and Suzy before making our way through the door Brian went through earlier.

Pizza was life.

After band practice, we decided to grab pizza at the local Papa Joe's which I thought was a good end to the day. I hadn’t eaten anything today beside a donut, so I was pretty damn hungry. We sat there in silence for a few moments, stuffing our faces with pizza when Matt spoke. “So, Halloween is coming up in a couple weeks,” He said with a smile. “You guys know what that means.”

“Fuck yeah, our annual Halloween party. Only question is…where are we going to have it?” Johnny asked.

No one spoke, leaving the booth once again in complete silence. “What about your house Allie?” Gracie announced.

Everyone turned their attention on me. I felt small under all their stares and a whole lot of pressure. I thought about it for a few moments before nodding. “Sure, I guess. Just keep my fucking house tidy,” I muttered, threatening all of them.

They all nodded and cheered before diving back into the pizza. “Hey Brian, are you bringing along Candy?” Mallory asked, watching him with curious eyes.

He looked up at her and licked his lips, shrugging his shoulders. “I don’t know.”

“You can, if you want,” I said. “But if she starts anything. With anyone. I won’t hesitate to kick her out.”

Brian nodded. “Fair enough,” he muttered.

Soon enough we all finished our pizzas and paid before making out way out of the pizza parlor. Zacky, Mallory, Matt Brian and I got into Brian’s car, while the rest of the group got into Sammi’s car. We said our goodbyes and went in opposite directions. A few minutes later, we pulled up in front of my house, Zacky and Mallory quickly saying goodbye before racing off across the road to Zacky’s house.

I smiled at Brian and thanked him for driving me home and got out. I started to walk off to my front door when I heard Brian yell out my name. I stopped and turned to face him. He stopped in front of me and looked at me. “U-um, I just wanted to say thank you, I guess,” he muttered, scratching the back of his neck, before shoving his hands in his pockets.

I leaned forward and placed a hand on his shoulder, feeling his hard muscles. I gave his shoulder a small squeeze and smiled. “It’s okay Brian. I’m just glad we talked. I really am sorry.”

Brian shrugged. “It’s fine.”

Shaking my head, I let out a sigh. “No Brian, it’s not okay. I know you’re still hurting but look, we’ll get through it. We just need to take it one day at a time and see where what happens.”

He nodded and gave me a tight smile. “Yeah I guess. I just feel better that we talked. I’m sorry Allie.”

“Brian, you have nothing to feel sorry about, okay?”

“Yes, I do. I realize now that it wasn’t your fault that you left. I’m sorry for hating you.”

“Don’t worry about it,” I muttered, giving him a small smile.

I leaned forward on my tip toes and pressed a small kiss to his cheek. “I’ll see you later Bri-Bear.”

Brian smiled and hugged me tightly for a few moments before turning on his heel and walking back to his car.

A smiled stayed on my face, right up until my head hit the pillow later that night.
