You Said You'd Never Leave Me

Chapter One

Huntington Beach, California, the place where I was going to start fresh. 2 years ago, I lost both my parents in a plane crash. They were on their way back from Africa when a huge storm hit. It’s been extremely hard for the last 2 years. I had lived in Denver, Colorado pretty much my whole life. I stayed there even after my parents died, but in the end, I just couldn’t bring myself to staying in that house by myself anymore.

I loved my parents, although I didn’t always have the best relationship with my father. I took after him, personality wise. We were both as stubborn as each other and it caused us to fight a lot but we still loved each other. I was a daddy’s girl, everyone knew that. We had our problems, but that was just like any family. My mother was my best friend; I told her pretty much everything. We had an amazing relationship. When my parents died, everything got worse. I was at a party once and had a little too much to drink. By the time I went to school the next day, everyone had turned against me. Rumours of me being a slut spread like a wildfire and my friends acted like they didn’t know me. I left school that day, vowing to leave and start fresh. I knew I’d be leaving everything I had known but I didn’t care. I was done with everything and everyone in Denver, Colorado.

Fast forward to 2 weeks later and I’m fucking thrilled to finally be moving into my new place. Satan knows I’m fucking over sleeping in a shitty hotel bed. I missed my bed, any other bed sucks balls.

Pulling into the driveway of my new house, a smile appeared on my face. “Home sweet home,” I muttered, grabbing my handbag off the passenger seat of my car.

I opened the front door to the house and stepped in, instantly immersed by the stunning tranquillity of the house. A sigh of relief fell from my lips as I walked through the house. I had bought this house on a whim after looking on property websites. I swiped through the pictures and just a bid in, so I was hoping it looked as good in real life as it did in the pictures. Thankfully, I wasn’t disappointed

Suddenly I heard a truck horn from outside and smiled. Dad’s cars were finally here. I dropped my bags near the stairs and walked outside, greeting the truck driver with a smile. “Afternoon Miss Foster, my name’s Pete. I’m here to drop your cars off.”

“Afternoon Pete, yes thank you. Don’t worry about pulling them into the driveway, just park them on the curb and I’ll put them away myself.”

“No worries, Miss Foster.”

I smiled and stepped back on the curb to get out of his way. As I watched Pete start to unload my cars, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I let out a gasp and gripped my chest, spinning around to face the motherfucker that scared the shit out of me. “Holy fuck, you scared me!” I cried.

The guy laughed. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to. We just wanted to come over and introduce ourselves. My name is Matt.”

It was then I realised that there were 8 other people standing behind him. “Oh um that’s ok. I’m Allie, it’s nice to meet you,” I replied, shaking his hand.
