A7X One Shots

Jimmy Short Story

My life goal was to meet Avenged Sevenfold... actually it was to play guitar with them. Syn and ZV always seemed to chose guys to get up on stage and play their parts, but I was just as talented as them. In fact, I was probably more talented then them. My friends said I was the female Synyster Gates.

And though I wasn't meeting them, I was going to their concert this week. They had just come out with their white album, and I knew the solo to "Afterlife" like no other. Not to mention the fact that I went fucking nuts over the double octopus that the Rev did in "Almost Easy." I sighed happily at the thought of Jimmy Sullivan. He was the hottest man I had ever seen and his antics just made him more attractive.

"Lucy? Are you getting ready?" My best friend, Tina, asked. "We have to get to the venue early to get good pit spots."

"I'm just finishing up my make up!" I pulled the mascara wand through my lashes one more time. They looked like they were touching my eyebrow, perfect. "Give me two minutes to put on shoes!"

Running to my closet, I grabbed my black studded boots. We were going to be in the pit, and I was not breaking another bone in my foot because of the asshole men. Steel-toed boots were the only way to handle those crowds. Deathbats were insane.

I walked outside to the living room. Tina looked amazing in a pair of cropped black jeans, an Avenged tee from the City of Evil era, black boots, and all of her piercings. I wolf-whistled at her.

Tina spun in a circle, laughing. "Damn, Luce, you look mighty fine!"

I was wearing black ripped jeans, an Avenged crop top, and my boots. After having a piercing ripped out playing soccer, I opted to let my holes close. That had been the most painful experience to date.

"HOW THE FUCK YOU DOING, LAS VEGAS?" M. Shadows yelled. Tina and I were right at the stage. If we wanted to, we could reach out and touch the guys.

"For this next song, we need a fan to play along to "Afterlife!" Anyone game?"

Cheers echoed along the walls, everyone wanting to play. I used Tina as a ladder, and I waved my arms around. There was no doubt that they saw me. A smirk crossed the guys' faces as they looked at me.

Shadows reached down and pulled me on to the stage. Nerves wracked my body, but I was ready to do this. "What's your name?"

"Lucy."

"Think you can handle my solo?" Syn asked, coming over to me with a guitar. It was one of his Scheters. It was like I had died and gone to heaven. Was this really happening?

"Just watch me, Gates," I said and waited for the song to begin.

The second the song started, I was right there with them. It felt so right to hold this guitar in my hands and be on stage. All the guys stared at me as I cranked out the solo, almost as easily as Gates. I didn't slow down once or miss a note. The crowd roared, and I could hear Tina screaming my name.

As the song ended, Syn walked over to me slowly and took the guitar away. He looked at me and smiled, obviously impressed with my abilities. I was shaking now, unable to believe I had actually done that.

"Damn, Lucy! That was amazing. How about you and your friend finish watching from backstage?" Shadows offered and motioned for Tina to come back with me. Both of my dreams were coming true!

"You were on fire," Jimmy said to me. I had to stop the grin from spreading too far on my face. I didn't want to look crazy.

"Thank you."

He smiled at me and pulled me in for a hug. He smelled so good even though he though he was sweating profusely. It felt like being home while I was in his arms. I didn't want to let go of him.

"Seriously, I think you could take over for Gates." Jimmy laughed as he pulled me over to the dressing room. All the guys were already there with Tina. I had waited for Jimmy to leave the stage, wanting to meet my idol.

"I don't think Gates would appreciate that," I said, gladly taking a beer from Johnny.

"Appreciate what?" Gates asked as he watched me enter the room.

"Lucy should replace you." Jimmy slapped the back of his friend's head. "She's fucking insane, dude."

"Agreed," Johnny, Zacky, and Matt said.

"What the fuck ever." Brian went back to his beer and Tina. They had hit it off.

Jimmy came back over to me, pulling me into his side. I still couldn't believe this night was real. It was like I was living in a fantasy land.

As the night crept into morning, I realized I needed to get home. I still had a lot of things to do tomorrow, like prepare a lesson plan for my students. As much fun as Avenged were, I had to get back to my real life at some point.

Zacky, Johnny, and Brian were in an intense debate about best drummers, so I headed over to Matt and Jimmy. One of them would be able to give me a ride home. As I approached them, I watched Matt nudged the drummer. Jimmy snapped to attention and smiled at me.

"What's up, Lucy?"

"As much fun as this has been, I need to get home," I said, smiling sadly. I wasn't ready to leave.

Jimmy's face fell a little. "Okay. Can I give you a ride?"

"You've had a lot to drink..." I trailed off as Jimmy pouted. "Someone else can drive us though."

Jimmy smiled brightly and pulled me into a long and tight hug. He smelled even better now that he had showered. I really didn't want his arms to leave my body; they felt so good wrapped around me.

Before I knew it we were at my apartment and I had to say goodbye to my hyperactive favorite drummer. His face probably looked like mine did. Neither one of us was ready to say goodbye, but I had to be the grownup since I still had work to crank out before Monday.

"Thank you for everything. I will never forget this night," I said, kissing his cheek. "It has been truly incredible, Jimmy."

He nodded, not wanting to speak and hugged me one more time. I got out of the car and headed to my apartment. Jimmy idled until I was inside and then he and his driver sped off, back to their hotel.

I set my keys on my table and felt a piece of paper. It was small and had a phone number on it. Smiling, I realized the crazy drummer had left me his number, a silent offer to call him. Little did he know, I was totally ready to do just that.

Notes

Short, cute story.
