Cold State Line

I watched as Haylee disappeared behind a curtain. Anna had called me the second they found her. The EMTs and police officers had thought she was dead, but she proved them all wrong by taking a shaky breath. When they arrived at the hospital, the doctors were certain that she wouldn't make it. But my girl once again proved them wrong.

"She's going to be okay, Matt." Tina handed me a cup of coffee. "She always pulls through."

I gripped the cup hard. "I'm sure she'll be fine. But when she's awake, how is she going to feel? Clay fucked her up."

Tina looked at me. "Why do you think it's Clay?" She sounded confused. It was only then that I remembered Haylee hadn't told anyone about what all Clay did to her. Everyone thought they just broke up for random differences.

"He's obsessed with her, Tina. But it's Haylee's story to tell..." I set the cup of coffee down. Haylee would be in surgery for a long time, and I had too much energy to sit and wait. They would call me when she was ready. Right now, I needed to let it out... on Clay.

Yeah, that was short and there may have been no point in me updating, but I wanted to give you something after two days of nothing. I'll write more on Saturday. Tomorrow, I work Black Friday and then Saturday take my GRE, but I'll make sure each of my stories is nice and long.
