Best. Night. Ever. I pulled my wife close to me. I loved thinking and saying that: my wife. Married life was what I wanted, and I didn't even miss flying. Thank god Laura had encouraged me to pursue music.

"Mmm... Syn," Laura said, rubbing against my chest.

"I do not tire of hearing that."

Laura's hand trailed up my chest and into my hair. She kissed me softly, like we had all the time in the world. "Hey, Brian?"

I cupped her face. "Yes, baby?"

"Is Matt really still in love with Rae? Cause I'm pretty sure she still has feelings for him." She kissed me gently again.

I sighed. What was my wife thinking? She kissed me again which meant she was trying to get me on her side. Seriously, what was this woman planning?

"Well since all of us our basically settled down and leaving the military, we could get those two together. I mean they still have feelings for each other. We could have a fifth wedding!"

I sat up and shot my wife a look. "No match making, babe. If they wanted to be together, they would be. But some things aren't meant to be and this is one of them."

"But they'd be perfect for each other." Laura pouted at me. "We all know it."

"Do not meddle in this, baby. Let them figure it out. Now, I have to go to the studio," I said.

Matt wasn't here yet. There was only so much we could do without our lead singer. We'd all already laid down our tracks for the day.

"Where the fuck is he?" Jimmy asked.

The door banged open to reveal our singer. He looked worse than any of us had seen him. He looked a fucking mess.

"Where the fuck you been?" ZV asked our harried-looking singer.

He sat down and opened a bottle of water. "Yeah, sorry. I had an interesting morning. Gates, why aren't you on your honeymoon?"

"Laura doesn't have leave yet. What do you mean you had an interesting morning?"

Matt rubbed his head. "Rae and I... well... we... you see..." He couldn't get a fucking sentence out.

"YOU HAD SEX!" Johnny shouted, getting all of our attention instantly.

Oh boy. Maybe Laura was right about those two being together.
