The Devil's Bleeding Crown

If I can not bend Heaven -

Pandora’s POV

How I ended up being tied to a chair? Well... Let me take you down the memory lane.

Fear was the devil’s greatest illusion. I should know – I was incarcerated for a long time. Four hundred and thirty six years, but who’s counting?

After all these years I thought I’d forget how the betrayal tasted, but who am I fooling? The memory wasn’t something I’d ever forget. Hell, I still remembered the way he looked at me when he ordered his goons to throw me in his favorite nightmare.

I had served him since the beginning of time... since the beginning of my time. I was ready to die for him and what did I get in return? A couple centuries of getting my bones crushed daily, then there was the weekly stabbing ritual, getting burned alive once a month and the yearly mental torture which lasted approximately a month or two depending on his mood. I’m not afraid to say that I even got used to all the physical torture, but never ever will I learn to bare the mental pain he inflicted on me. He took that one memory I had pushed to the furthest corner of my mind and he made me relieve it over and over, and over...

Punishment. He punished me for what exactly? That’s the million dollar question, huh. I had thought about this for a long time and I still can’t come up with a legitimate reason for his actions. Opening the so called Pandora’s box? Now that was a fucking joke. He made me do it, ‘cause he was too pissed at God for banishing him from Heaven, but that was long before my imprisonment.

Fucking dick.

Four centuries... He let me rot in that hole for four fucking centuries. Getting out was just plain luck. Only once I had crawled my way through the things I can’t even really explain, I came to a conclusion that he’s not in charge of Hell anymore, which must’ve weakened the whole establishment letting me and a few others escape.

So thanks to him I’m sitting in a Drug Addicts Anonymous, listening to all the heart-breaking speeches and how the devil is to blame for their weakness... I just believed I rolled my eyes to oblivion. If I hear another ‘Devil made me do it’, I’ll kill the bastard and will ditch this place. No joke. I don’t care for the money, well... actually I loved the amount they offered me for catching the guy who was dealing around here, since this was already marked territory, but I swear, if they mention him again, I’ll create a bloody massacre and will just up and leave.

„... that was the lowest point in my life...” A guy who looked awfully stoned just ended his speech. So, correct me if I’m wrong, but the lowest point in his life was waking up in a bed covered in cocaine and some hookers doing some awfully erotic things to each other. That was the lowest point... Well then, the guy clearly didn’t want to spend a day in my life.

„Okay, thank you, is there somebody else who’d like to share their story?”

Show time. I raised my hand and pushed myself up from my chair to walk towards the podium.

„Yeah, hi,” I made a small wave, looking over the tens of people, „I’m Pandora and...” The door to the auditorium opened and a very strange human walked in. Shit. No distractions, do the job, Pandora. I faked a smile. „I love drugs.” A couple of gasps traveled through the spacious room, „Fucking LOVE them, but unfortunately my dealer recently decided to ditch this world, so if anyone knows a someone, I’ll be right outside. Will do any kind of drug, really... Anything, sometimes everything altogether. Thanks.”

I was already stepping down from the make shift stage, when the same guru or whatever you wanna call him walked up to me, „Are you sure that was what you wanted to tell us?” He had that wise man look to his face and I really wanted to punch him, but, let’s stay calm, Pandora, let’s not act like mere demons.

„Yeah,” I frowned, looking at him, „I told you my dealer fucking killed himself. Now will you excuse me.” I shot him a fake smile as I started walking towards the woman who seemed way out of place. Yeah, even in a place like this. I mean she could be a junkie freshly out of heroin, but I didn’t buy it. I wouldn’t have bothered my pretty little head about the woman if it wasn’t for her scent, which I picked up all the way from the podium.

I kid you not, my nose caught on something unworldly as soon as she entered the room and no, it wasn’t cocaine. She seemed anxious. And what the hell was she wearing? A fucking robe?

„W-what is this place?” She questioned flustered as soon as I had walked to the back of the room. Only then I noticed the purple glow to her eyes and she seriously did fucking smell... like Heaven.

This girl... she was an angel! God-fucking-dammit. I shot a quick look over my shoulder back at the auditory to see if any dealer had decided to grace me with some tasty drugs. Nobody? Could this day get even better. That was a rhetorical question.

„Answer me! Where am I?!” She shouted and finally people started looking back. Bloody Hell... I took her by arm and dragged outside, „What are you doing? Where are we going?” She kept asking as I pushed her in the nearest alley.

„Can we... just... please use our inside voices?” I questioned as soon as I let go of her arm. An angel. Here. I peaked my head around the corner to see if my dealer has finally apeared, before I returned to this celestial being. I frowned realizing the wall behind her was glowing. „What the—„ Did I mention she was speaking some gibberish? I didn’t understand a word she was saying, but seemed very passionate about everything. Anyhow, I turned her around and was blinded by the light that came from the markings on her back. „Bloody Hell...” I mused as I looked at her. „Why the fuck are you walking like this among humans?”

She looked at me with her high-and-mighty angel stare, „What do you mean? I am an angel!”

„Then where are your fucking wings, angel?” I stepped back, crossing my arms over my deep cleavage. She wanted to have an attitude with me? The friendly neighborhood demon? Well, the bitch can try.

„I-I...” She lost all her snarkiness, looking extremely sad.

Fuck me. „Oh come on, don’t cry... There was something about angels crying and it never ending well...” I pushed myself off the wall I was leaning on as I walked over, trying to comfort her. „Ermm.. Look... whatever happened to you, I’m sure it’s not that bad.”

„They banned me from Heaven!” She shouted after she had raised her head to look at me.

„A lady in need?” A masculine voice came from beside me. I turned my head to look upon the intruder. A short, chubby guy, rocking a Finding Nemo shirt like nobody else. „You were looking for something particular?” He raised a tiny plastic bag filled with white powder like substance. So this is my dealer.

I sighed, before I reached inside my jacket for the stash of banknotes, „Yeah. Here.” I handed him the money after he had approached us, curiously looking over the angel. He turned to look at me with a raised brow.

„She’s cosplaying,” I lied, getting my hands on the merchandise.

„Oookay,” He frowned, finally shifting his eyes to me after the angel started talking in her mambo-jambo language. Yet again. „Oh right, here’s my card,” He said pulling out a piece of paper with his phone number written on it. So this is... a card. Yeah. Okay. „If you’re looking to get hooked up, just give this number a call.”

So that wasn’t even his number? I’ve hit jack-pot! „Will do. Pleasure doing business, but now – scram.”

„Ay-ay, captain.” He saluted, before he disappeared.

„So what’s up with you? Why are you walking around all sparkly?”

„Huh?” The angel frowned.

„I mean – why don’t you look like a human?” This bullshit wasn’t something I had been looking forward starting my day. Why am I even doing this? Nobody’s paying me for moral support!

„How do I ... get to look like a... a human?”

„Uhmm... Pick a human you like and steal his or her look?” She looked at me like I was crazy. Hey, I’m just trying to help. I threw my hands up in the air. „Beats me! I don’t know how you guys fucking do it! You just do!”

You guys...” She mused. „And who are you supposed to be?” Who am I? Who am I... The only fucking being who puts up with your shit, now shut off your glowy thing so nobody fucking spots us. Yeah, well, that was what I was supposed to tell her, but since I was being a good demon, I just mentally cursed her out. „And what’s that your holding?” She pointed to the little plastic bag.

„This?” I raised the drug filled container, „This, love, is something that will make me get through the day, but you – in trouble if you as much as look at it.” But she was right, what was it? Something white, that was clear as day, but what exactly?

„You didn’t answer my question,” She glared at me.

„Well, well, well... Looky what we have here.” Oh, I knew that voice. Haven’t heard it in a long time, but I still remembered that deep timbre. What did they call him around here? Shadows? I turned to look at the guy. His eyes glowed in the dark this alley provided, leaving no question who exactly he was. A fallen. So were two of those other goons at either of his sides. Vengeance and ... Christ (ironically).

Man... I mean... fucking shit. Could this day get even worse? Don’t answer me. I knew it could. „The lost pup has finally come home?” Vengeance laughed as his green eyes blazed under those long lashes. „And who’s this? A new addition to the family?”

Okay, breath, Pandora. There’s no need for drastic actions. „Pandora?” The angel looked at me with wide eyes. „You’re a demon!”

„Yeah, well, you’re not perfect either. You’re glowing for fuck sake!” I pointed to the problem which was obviously among us.

„At least I’m not a demon! I can’t believe how stupid I was...” The angel whispered, before she took off in her own language. Speak English!

„Enough.” Shadows roared. „You’re gonna come out of your free will or Vengeance here and Johnny have to tie you up?”

„You know I broke out of Hell once already...”

„I wasn’t talking to you,” Shad’s hazel eyes narrowed on the angel. „So how will it be?”

Angel’s eyebrows shot up as her eyes shifted between me and Shadows, finally fixing on me. „Help...” She mouthed. And now she’s asking for help from a demon. Make up your mind, woman!

„Don’t do it, Pandora.” Shadows warned. „Don’t be a hero.”

„A hero?” I chuckled, rolling up my sleeves as I stepped away from the wall and set myself in front of them. „I’m no fucking hero. Just the friendly neihbourhood demon.”

Quite honestly, the outcome was too predictable. Three fallen angels against a single demon... Okay, against a demon and half of an angel. Of course we lost and they locked me away in the basement of some mansion.

That’s what you get for trying to help out the damsel in distress.

A bloody face and a pair of broken ribs.

COME BAAAAAAAACKKK

I really hope you guys haven't abandoned this story, it's one of my favourites...

Okay so you fucking updated this ages ago and I was shitty and only just now got around to reading it. Onlyyy because I've been mad busy and the chapters are long, so I need the right amount of time to sit down and really enjoy it and take it all in.

Anyways, I hope you'll update again soon, I noticed it's been nearly a month, hope you're not giving up on it. xx

Wow, Teek put Vengeance in his place. :D And, it seems like Syn is going to be okay now.. all thanks to Tempest healing him.

Wonder where Pandora is? And, how she's gonna react when she finds out that Tempest healed Syn?

Love it.
