Secrets I Have Held In My Heart

Seeing Red

Matt

Spending the day with Robyn, was how I wanted to spend the rest of my days. I had the most fun I have had in a very long time. I honestly couldn’t even believe that I let her talk me into keeping Storm. He was a cute little puppy, and the way that he made her smile, made me smile. I think that smile, could get me to say yes to anything.

Normally, I hated being called ‘Mattie’, but there was just something about the way it sounded coming from her, that I loved. She was a beautiful woman, and Brian certainly didn’t know what he was missing out on. What he lost when he invited Michelle into their bed.

I was waiting at the bottom of the steps for her while I fixed my cufflinks. I smoothed over my hair, and just as I did so, she cleared her throat, making her presence known to me. I hadn’t seen what she looked like in the dress I picked for her, and I couldn’t wait for it. I slowly turned around and looked up at her. My heart stopped at the sight of her.

Stunning. Beautiful. Attractive. Alluring. Stunning. I couldn’t find a word that described how magnificent she looked in that dress. My stomach was doing flips, my heart racing. My eyes wandering all over her body.

“You look absolutely ravishing Robyn,” I told her as she made her way down the steps. I shoved one of my hands in my pockets and held the other out for her to grab. Even in stilettos, she only came up to my chin. It was adorable.

Seeing her blush at my compliment as she grabbed my hand, linking her arm with mine, I smiled. “Are you ready beautiful?” I asked her. She was honestly, the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. She blew Val way out of the water. I was lucky to have this night to spend with her.

“As ready as I’ll ever be,” She said softly, looking up at me with those brown doe eyes. She looked like she was a little bit devious, a little bit of a devil, and a lot like an angel. She looked like she could rock your world, or destroy it, on the flip of a dime, and I loved that about her.

I led her out of the house and opened her car door for her. Once she was in, I closed the door and got in before speeding down the road.

“So,” I said, clearing my throat. “Does this count as a date or is this just two friends going to a benefit?” I asked her curiously, glancing over at her every now and then, but making sure to keep an eye on her.

“I think we can consider this, two friends testing the waters.” She said a smile on her face. “Two friends, who are interested in each other, going on a date.”

Yes.

A date.

Something I’ve always wanted.

“If all goes well, maybe we can make a second one happen, yes?” I said, pulling into the driveway of the hotel that the event was hosted at.

“Let's take it one step at a time okay Matt?” She said, looking over at me, I stared into her beautiful eyes, my own, drifting down to her plump lips, I would love to kiss them tonight, but I wasn’t going to push my luck.

I got out of the car and opened her door for her before escorting her to our table. Standing there already was Zack, Jimmy, and Johnny. Robyn had her arm linked with mine, earning suspicious looks from the boys.

“Is Brian going to be here?”

Those were the first words she spoke to them. I wasn’t sure if it was because she wanted to know if she needed to avoid him, or if she wanted to show off what he lost.

“To be honest,” Zack said “ I doubt it, Brian never attended these things before, but if he finds out you’re here, he might just show up. I wouldn’t be surprised. He’s been a wreck since you left him.”

She stared at Zack for a moment, and I stared at her, wondering what she was going to say to him. “Good. That’s what that bastard deserves after what he’s done to me,” She said before looking at me. “If you’ll excuse me, Matt, I’m going to go to the bar and grab myself a drink.” She walked away from me, and before I could even think I was being hammered with questions.

“Are you two a thing?”

“How did you get so lucky?”

“That’s going to fuck up your friendship with Brian.”

“I wish I had someone that beautiful.”

“Guys. Stop,” I said, looking at all of them. “She is my friend, she is my best friend’s wife, soon to be ex-wife. Yes, I would love to be with her. Yes, I’ve wanted her since the day I first laid eyes on her, yes, we are considering this a date. Yes, we are testing the waters to see how things will go. No Brian doesn’t know, and yes I intend on keeping it that way until I know that I can safely tell him without it affecting the band.” I explained to them, finishing up my story as I saw Robyn come back to the group of us.

Brian

I had decided to come to this charity event, mainly because I was hoping that Robyn would be here. I know she didn’t really own anything that she could wear to an event like this. That was mainly my fault. I was greedy. I never spoiled her, or showered her with gifts like I should have.

Sighing, I got out of my car and smoothed my suit jacket over before walking into the building. The first thing I did, was order a shot of tequila, then order a bourbon.

Grabbing the glass off of the bar, I began to look around the room for her. My beautiful blonde wife. I had to find her. I had to make things up to her. I had to save this family.

My eyes landed on the guys, Zack, Jimmy, Johnny were all with their girls, I could see them not far away from the guys. Matt though, was not with Val, which is what I thought was weird. He had a beautiful brunette on his arm, and I wondered who it could be.

“Hey guys,” I said walking over to them.

“Who’s this Matt?” I asked him, he didn’t turn around, but when the girl beside him did, my heart stopped, my eyes filled with rage, hate, hurt, and anger. I was seeing red.

“Hello, Brian”

It was Robyn. It was my wife.

Notes

Uh Oh. What do you guys think now that Brian showed up? What did you think about Matt's reaction to Robyn? What do you think Robyn will do now that Brian showed up?

EEEEEEEEEE! She said yes! Yay! I still want to slap this Brian into next week -_-

This is getting good! But man Brain is a jerk! I hope he soon realizes that he's the bad guy. I still can't see him and Matt being friends if he hates Robyn.
