Secrets I Have Held In My Heart

It was one of the hottest days that I had ever witnessed in Huntington Beach. Val and I were laying by the water at the beach while Brian and Jimmy were tossing a frisbee back and forth. I could vaguely hear what they were talking about. Something about partying and getting fucked up tonight. Those two I swear to god, all they did was party and sometimes it was rather annoying, especially on tour days. It was so hard to get them out of bed in the mornings, mainly because they were still drunk, or fucked up from whatever drug that they had taken that night.
“You guys wanna come?” Brian had asked me. “No thanks man, I’m good. Not really a partier, remember?” I responded, taking a sip of my beer that was starting to get warm. Piss warm beer was disgusting. “What do you want to do tonight babe?” I asked Val. Lately, she had been...distant. She didn’t really want much to do with me, I wasn’t sure why. “Michelle and I are going out for a girls’ night,” She said, texting away on her phone. I sighed and got up from my spot and walked over to the water. I waded in until I was waste deep. I plunged into the water, hoping that it would cool me down.
I came to the surface of the water and turned back around to look at Val, but something else caught my attention..or I should say, someone. A blonde, she had the perfect body, curves in all of the right places, her hair was down to her mid back, beautiful olive skin. She was fit, and she had the most gorgeous brown eyes I had ever seen. She blew Val out of the water when it came to looks. I could hear her voice from here. It sounded like a melody. Like she wasn’t real.
“I am so so sorry!” she said apologetically to Brian, I didn’t really know what happened, but I’m going to guess by the Golden Retriever with a tennis ball in its mouth, that she hit Brian when throwing the ball. “Are you okay?” she had asked him, “What can I do to make it up to you?” Just by how I knew Brian, I knew he was going to ask her either for drinks or to go out on an actual date with her. Which is exactly what he did. He instantly canceled his plans with Jimmy that he had going on tonight, to go on a date with her.
I wonder what her name is. She probably has a beautiful name, I mean, most pretty girls do. She seemed like a kind woman. “What’s your name?” I heard Brian ask.
“Robyn Michaelson”
Robyn. That was a fitting name. A beautiful name for a beautiful woman. I was almost hoping that Brian’s date with her didn’t go well. I had been thinking about getting rid of Val lately, She was so distant, we barely did anything together anymore. It was like I didn’t even exist. If his date didn’t go well with Robyn, I was going to give her a try. Just as friends. If I liked her enough, Val would be out of the picture.
What I didn’t plan to happen, was that the date would go well.
I didn’t plan for the two to get married.
I didn’t plan for them to have a beautiful baby girl.
I sure as hell didn't plan on falling in love with my best friend’s wife.
