Who Are You?

Angels

.:.:.

The morning came too quickly for Elise. The snooze had already been tapped three times, pushing the time to almost 10:30. She stretched her entire body and immediately threw the blanket off. Her normal shower routine began with her picking out a simple outfit; her yoga pants, black undershirt, and button-up shirt. She desperately needed a new outfit today. After finishing her shower, she left her black hair wrapped in a towel while she applied a full-face of makeup. Elise had a feeling the ladies would keep her out all day and wouldn’t have a chance to return home. She hoped her foundation would last as long as the day.

A hyperactive knock came through Elise’s bedroom door. She could picture a jittery Leana standing there. The mascara tube was dropped into her caboodle before closing it up. Elise pinched the set of false lashes into her real ones as she opened the door to a grinning Lee.

“You look so good! Not that you didn’t before or anything!” Leana awkwardly chuckled at the sight of her roommate.

Shyness took over as Elise matched the woman’s tone of laughter.

“Thanks, Lee. I figured we have a full day ahead of us finished with a nice dinner, so, why not?”

The two decided it was close enough to 1:00 and decided to head for Gena’s together where Lacey would also be meeting them. Elise and Leana approached Lee’s Corolla as she unlocked it. The skies were a bit overcast providing moderate relief from the uncomfortable heat. They made small talk the whole ride over and even through her large sunglasses, Elise could see her sneaking glances.

Her thumbs drummed against the steering wheel, “So, and I don’t mean to be nosey…Who am I kidding, I’m more curious than a cat! I gotta say, you talk quite a bit in your sleep.” Leana giggled as she turned down a street.

Instantly, Elise’s cheeks began to heat up, “Oh, I-I’m sorry. I had no idea, I must have been dreaming.”

“Mhmm and what about?” Lee grinned.

“I’ve no idea.” Elise scratched at her scalp.

Liar

The petite woman’s grin grew wider. Elise knew she couldn’t fool her.

“Ok! Ok, but, don’t tell anyone. It’s already award enough to be having these dreams.” Elise propped her elbow against the door and turned to look out of the window. She could practically feel Lee moving the car from her nod. “Matt-“

“I knew it!” The brunette squealed.

“Oh, god,” Elise groaned, “That obvious, huh? Anyways, I dreamt I was an office worker and Matt was some CEO. Basically, it turned into a very smutty and Dom-inspired dream.”

Of course, she left out the part with Brian also being there but she had no idea why. Perhaps she would be deemed trampy for thinking of their male friends in such a way. Maybe they’d become suspicious of her having thoughts about their own men. The latter part was not even close to being true nor did she ever see it happening. Hell, she even felt out of place for the way she and Matt had been acting considering he hadn’t been single very long yet something kept her in pursuit.

“I can’t blame you, Hon. Matt is a good-looking guy and it seems he’s taken an interest in you. Now, that shit he said the other night must’ve come out of his ass because there’s no way he doesn’t feel something. Perhaps you’re holding back in some way and are expressing your own interest in him through that dream?” Leana advised.

Elise sighed. She knew truth riddled every word that was just spoken to her especially considering the fact this wasn’t the first dream. Should she let Lee in on that fantasy, too?

She remained quiet as they pulled into their destination. As much as she tried to keep it in, it was becoming difficult. Something about this woman made her want to express everything. Again, she sighed.

“Thatwasn’tthefirstdream…” Elise mumbled quickly.

Leana reached over and repeatedly smacked the thicker woman’s thigh, “Get out! That’s so cute! I, for one, think you two should get to know each other better. Which brings me to Sunday’s agenda; the oh-so cliché pool party at Matt’s house! Or, his parents actually but they'll be gone.”

Those two words made her stomach drop; pool party.

“A pool party, huh?” her green eyes hidden behind sunglasses gazed down at her fumbling hands.

Leana turned off the ignition and offered a small smile. “Yeah, what’s up?”

“Water and its designated attire has never gotten along with my self-esteem. Even when I wear what I’m comfortable in I’m always pressured. Sorry, Lee, I shouldn’t be getting emo over something that’ll be really fun.” Elise tried her best to return the smile.

“Girl, are you crazy? I’m sure you’d look amazing! That’s it, our first mission at the mall is finding you a bathing suit! No ifs, ands, or buts about it.”

Just like that Elise was stuck and, somehow, she was oddly comfortable with Lee’s idea.

.:.:.

Chaos. Screaming. Savagery. Those three words didn’t even begin to explain the shit-storm that was the Westminster Mall. Elise looked around at everything and couldn’t take enough deep breaths. The other three women were talking and laughing like this was second nature to them. She hoped the women would lose focus and forget she was there completely.

Nope.

“So, Elli, swimsuit. Let’s go.” Gena grabbed her hand and took off deeper into the mall.

Gena was fast approaching a store that Elise was hoping to be a joke. Thick black and pink stripes decorated the outside of the store as Elise was being awkwardly sired by a model three times the size of a regular human. Without thinking, she busted up laughing. Looks upon looks were thrown her way as she reeled in the laughter.

The girls glanced at Elise while Lacey rolled her eyes, “Seriously, Gena? You’re not seriously trying to put her in that? She’s obviously no Angel. No offense.” She warmly smiled at Elise.

The blonde blinked a few as it finally clicked.

“I think we’d have better luck at Torrid or Cacique.” Elise chuckled after giving in.

It didn’t take long for Elise’s arm strength to be tested by these women. Numerous outfits were tossed into a pile, along with some swimsuits. They were unfortunate in a few stores but seemed to be doing better as time went on. As much as she hated to admit it, Elise was having a good time. Being around such positive females was inspiring to her. She felt better about herself and was even pushing aside the anxiety from such a crowded area. Life was getting better.

“I’ve a good feeling about this one!” Lacey was enthused about her pick as she walked towards the group.

“I don’t know…” Elise was hesitant as the garment was placed on top the pile in her arms.

“Just try it!” The others shouted together before giggling.

Elise walked into her designated changing room and started hanging the clothes. She stripped of all garments but her bra and panties and began trying different outfits. So far, she had a couple definite items which was shocking. Her choices were enough to make a couple different mix-and-match styles. That was plenty enough. She could hear the other girls talking away from the fitting room and figured they were shopping for accessories. There was almost no way those women would look polished in the majority of clothing this store offered. “Offering sizes 10 to 30” wasn’t exactly in their size range. Still, Elise appreciated them taking the time in helping her even if it meant they put their shopping needs aside.

The time had come for the dreaded bathing suits. Elise slipped the bottoms over her own panties only to immediately discard the item.

Too revealing

Next was a one piece with absolutely no chest support.

Next

A few more pieces were put into the “no” pile leaving Lacey’s pick for last.

[i]Ok, I’m finished. Gonna check out.

Lee: Already?!

.:.:.

An hour passed and the girls finally settled into a table at the food court with their desired meals.

“Has Lee told you about Monday yet?” Lacey asked before savagely biting a fry in half.

Elise shook her head and mumbled, “I’m honestly just trying to make it through each day.”

The two women raised a brow at her. Surely spending time with them wasn’t that difficult. They looked at each other then back to a suspicious looking Lee. Leana’s honey brown eyes quickly looked at her plate of food and stuffed the straw of her drink in her mouth. Gena gently placed her burger down and wiped her hands together. She then propped her elbows on the table and leaned forward with narrowing eyes. Lacey bit into her sandwich as her gaze bore into the nervous brunette’s posture. Elise quietly ate a curly fry unsure of what they were up to.

“There’s no way they know anything, right?” She thought.

“Lee-Pea,” Gena began poking at Leana’s arm, “Whatcha keeping from us?”

Leana quickly shook her head, hair flying from side to side.

“Oh, come on. You couldn’t keep a secret if you tried!” Lacey laughed.

Gena agreed, “You know we’ll get it out of you. Might as well just tell us now.”

Elise scratched at her arm and looked at the woman sitting next to her. She was trying her hardest not to look at either of the prodding ladies and let her eyes flicker to Elise. In reply, Elise smiled and gestured her head towards the Nosey Nellies.

“Tell us!”

“I’ll tickle it out of you”

“Leeeee!”

“Elise and Matt are crushing on each other but neither of them will admit it! Also,” her voice quieted to a whisper once she took a breath, “She’s been having dirty dreams about Shadows.”

All the girls squealed around Elise, causing even more stares to land on the group. They asked about the details which Elise was hesitant and hardly descriptive. She eventually broke down and told them everything, even including Matt surprising her with food, the trip to the beach, and their sneak attack.

“Leave it to my idiot to ruin a good moment.” Lacey sighed as the girls began clearing their table.

“In all honesty, all I’ve gotten from those whole ordeals is that I’m confused, Matt can disguise his voice as being almost feminine, and I miss my red hair.” Elise laughed.

Leana threw her tray on top of the trash can and turned towards Elise. She grasped a strand of her long, black hair as if she were inspecting it for hidden clues.

“Red hair?” Lee questioned.

Elise proceeded to tell them of her natural red coloring and how she pictured herself in the dream with fire engine red hair. This caused a huge grin to appear on Lee’s face. Elise knew the wheels were turning in her mind but she didn’t know why…until she remembered a certain detail about Leana; She was a hair stylist.

Everyone had finished their shopping early and decided to head to their own homes until dinner. They said their goodbyes in the parking lot and loaded the cars with their bags of goodies. The music was turned down as they began discussing Elise’s hair. Leana already had a plan and decided to make a quick stop at Sally’s before going home. In a few days, Elise would have a nice change all thanks to this spunky woman. She just had to first make it through karaoke night alive.

Woo! Go Matt for taking charge! Definitely worth the wait

That's definitely the best way to stop the teasing. I love that Matt was bold enough to cut the bullshit so to speak.
