The Nothing of the Everything

“Guys, I’m in love.”

Zacky had just walked into Brian’s house and was already saying bullshit. Jimmy rolled his eyes and laughed with Brian, while Johnny looked at Zacky curiously.

“I’m serious.” Zacky said. “Can’t stop thinking about that Olivia girl.”

“Who’s Olivia?” Johnny asked and Zacky frowned.

“It’s your sister’s best friend, Johnny. Can’t believe you don’t remember her.”

Johnny looked down for a moment as the thought, then he looked up, his eyes lighting up as he remembered the girl. “Yes! Olivia! Of course I remember.” He smiled. “Just don’t start bothering me to get her phone number. I already have someone doing that and it’s fucking annoying.”

Jimmy hit his friend’s side and Johnny coughed a little.

“Who else wants Olivia’s number?”

“I don’t want her number. I want Elaine’s.” Jimmy answered.

“Why would you want her phone number?”

“Because I thought that having a dancer in the family would be great if we ever need good dancers for our music videos.”

Brian tilted his head to the side as he listened to his best friend. He had a point. Kind of.
However, that wasn’t exactly the reason why Jimmy wanted Elaine’s phone number so bad. It had been over three weeks since that evening at the theatre and the after party at the bar and Jimmy couldn’t get Elaine out his head. It wasn’t a crush or anything like, it was just… Her.

“I don’t care, I won’t give you her phone number.”

“You’re a pain in the ass. You know that, right?” Jimmy told Johnny, but the bassist shrugged, not really bothered by his words.

“What if Johnny call them and then we ask them if they wanna give us their phone numbers?” Zacky suggested, looking at their friends.

“We can use Skype.” Johnny suggested and everybody agreed, ready to call the girls.

Elaine frowned when she heard the Skype ringtone coming from her laptop.

“Liv, what time is it?” She asked as she removed the towel from her wet hair.

“Almost midnight.” Olivia replied.

“See who’s calling. If it’s someone interesting, pick up. If not, just turn that thing off.”

Olivia noticed who the called was and decided to answer, smiling widely as she saw those four familiar faces on the screen.

“Stop it, Jimmy! You’ll fuck up my new computer.” Johnny complained.

“Shut up, hobbit. I know how this shit works, okay?”

“Why do you two always have to argue?” Zacky asked.

“Because he’s can’t understand one damn thing.” Jimmy explained.

Olivia laughed at the scene. She almost forgot how funny they could be.

“Am I mistaken or there’s someone missing over there?” She asked.

Zacky was the first to speak. He looked around and shrugged.

“Who cares about Matt.” He commented. “Hi! How are you?”

“I’m good, kinda surprised that you guys called, especially since it’s almost midnight”

“See? It’s midnight over there!” Jimmy said, hitting Zacky in the head. “It’s all your fault.”

“Hey! Johnny could’ve said something! It’s not like this is the first time he called his sister!”

“It’s fine, guys. We were about to watch a movie, anyway. Elaine should be here soon, she went to put something on, she just got out of the shower.”

The guys, except Johnny, smirked and then laughed. In that moment Elaine walked into the room and asked who was Skyping her.

“It’s us! Remember? Family from California!” Jimmy said and Elaine couldn’t help but smile.

“How are you guys?”

“We’re good, good. Olivia said you just got out of the shower. Tell us more about it.” Jimmy said with a smirk before Johnny pushed him a little.

Elaine laughed and sat down next to her best friend. Her hair was still wet, so she moved it to the side, trying to brush it with her fingers.

“It was just a normal shower, nothing interesting.”

“Don’t even start.” Brian warned Jimmy before turning his attention to the girls. “Since these guys are wasting your time and it’s late over there, they reason why we called you is to ask you if we could have your phone numbers.” The guitarist said and Zacky nodded quickly, smiling. “We were too drunk to ask anything that night…”

“Sure.” Elaine said, then looked at her brother. “Why didn’t you just give them my phone number?” She asked, raising her eyebrows.

“Because these guys are fucking creeps, El. That’s why!”

“As if you’re not creepy.” The blonde said and shook her head, then gave them their phone numbers and let Olivia give hers as well.

“Alright, we’ll let you watch whatever you were gonna watch. Bye, girls.” Brian said, ending the call.

Elaine and Olivia looked at each other and laughed.

“Now you understand why I never speak about my brother and his friends? ‘Cause they’re insane.”

“They’re funny, though, so I guess it’s good.”

“They are freaking insane.” She repeated chuckling, before turning the TV on.

They watched a movie for about thirty minutes, then both Elaine and Olivia decided to go to bed. They didn’t have to get up early the next day, but they were tired after spending the day practicing.

As she got to bed, Elaine picked her phone up and noticed a new text coming from an unknown number.

Sorry for bothering you today! Zacky’s got the hots for your friend and was being an annoying bitch. PS. You look great with wet hair.

Elaine frowned, wondering who sent her that text. Clearly, it was one of the guys and it was either Jimmy or Brian.

It’s no problem, really. And thanks for the compliment, Brian. Or Jimmy. Whoever is sending me this.

The blonde got in bed and was about to close her eyes when she noticed that she received another reply.

Who would you want me to be? I can tell you that the Gates train isn’t that great. Haven’t rode it myself (thank God) but I can assure you it’s not the best.

Elaine laughed at the text. It was obviously Jimmy.

I’m pretty sure tons of girls would pay for it but I’m not interested. I’m glad you (Jimmy) texted me, though.

That was it. She already knew that she wouldn’t go to bed anytime soon. Not when she was starting a conversation through texts. It didn’t matter if she was texting with Jimmy, his brothers, a friend or even her parents. Ending a conversation for no reason (even for sleeping) seemed rude to her and she always avoided to do it.

A big smile spread across his face. That simple text made his day.

“She’s not replying, guys. What do I do?” A desperate Zacky asked.

“It’s night over there, she’s probably sleeping, Vee. And since when are you so worried about girls not texting you back?” Brian asked. “I mean, you’re usually the one who disappears all of a sudden.”

“Yes, but after sexy times, not before.”

“As long as you don’t do it during it…” Johnny said.

“I think that’s exactly what he does, Johnny. Or at least it’s the reason why he does it after ‘sexy time’, as he called it. His little willy doesn’t do his job properly.” Jimmy joked, making both Brian and Johnny laugh.

“Oh, shut the fuck up, Jim.” Zacky said. “Do we really have to talk about this? How come I never see Leana around? I bet it’s your dick the one that doesn’t work properly.”

Jimmy shrugged, not really bothered by the fact that Zacky brought up his girlfriend.

“She’s busy with work.”

“Does she work?” Johnny asked, looking at Zacky.

“I thought she was a stripper?” Zacky suggested, not really sure about his words.

“Wait. Wasn’t that your last girlfriend?” Brian asked and Zack nodded.

“Mindy? Yeah. She was hot, though.”

“Leana is trying to… Well, find her way, I guess.” Jimmy eventually said, keeping his eyes on his phone.

“Finding her way… More like finding a way on how to fuck you up.” Brian said before getting up and heading to the kitchen to make himself a sandwich.

Jimmy had no idea why his friends didn’t like Leana. Valary, Lacey and whatever girl was dating Zacky at the moment liked her, or at least, this was his feeling, but the guys always had something to say about her, and the same happened with his family. He liked her, though. She was there whenever he needed someone and it was just nice to have a girl waiting for you at home.

He ignored Brian’s comment and instead decided to reply to Elaine.

Well, I (Jimmy) am glad to hear that. Both that you’re not interested in Gates (although you better don’t tell him; you might end up hurting his ego and I don’t need a whiny bitch in my house) and that I texted you.

“Brian!” Jimmy yelled, trying to mock his friend’s mother. “Make me a sandwich, I’m hungry.”

“I’m not your fucking maid!” The guitarist yelled back, but Jimmy laughed, knowing he would get his sandwich.

A whiny bitch… That’s interesting ;) So you and Brian live together?

Jimmy smiled, especially when he noticed the sandwich Brian put in front of him.

Much to my disdain, yes, we do.

I’ll make sure to let Brian know how much you like living with him, then.

Please do, so I can finally have the whole house for myself! But enough about me. It’s late over there and I’m sure you’re too busy not to get up early in the morning so I guess I’ll text you tomorrow or something. If you want, of course. PS. Please, tell Olivia to text Zack back. Hearing him talk about her is already annoying enough, no need to hear him complain because she hasn’t replied. Sleep tight.

Jimmy put his phone away and started eating his sandwich.

“It’s not fair that you made him a sandwich and you didn’t even think about us.” Zacky said.

“Did you ask for it?” Jimmy said, his mouth half full of food.

There was a knock on the door and Johnny got up to see who it was, eventually letting Matt walk into the house.

“I thought we were supposed to talk about the new album, not have a little picnic in your living room.” The singer said, watching Brian and Jimmy ate their sandwiches as if they hadn’t eaten in days.

“And that’s what we’re gonna do.” Jimmy said. “But first, food.”

Hi! Here's another chapter of my story. When I first started thinking about this story, I didn't exactly picture Olivia and Zacky together so I guess we'll just wait and see what happens ;)
