"Where did they go?" Allen asked.
"They just disappeared and they aren't answering when I try to call them." Matt said frantically. I just shook my head and looked at Val, we both said "Men!" Simultaneously.
"They just found out that a horrible thing they thought had happened, was a lie." Val said. "I'm guessing they want some 'alone' time right now." It took a second, but finally you could tell by the look on their faces that they got it.
Everyone decided that since the Haner's ditched us that we would go out for beer and pizza. I sat next to Val at the restaurant, I've always liked her and Mom loves her like a sister. Maybe her conscience got to her.

Brian's POV
Penny grabbed my hand as soon as we were outside the courtroom and said "Let's go home!" She didn't speak again as we made our way to the car in the parking garage.
"Honey, Are you okay?" I said as she pulled me to the car.
She whispered in my ear "Get in the car now!" then she took a decisive but light bite on my earlobe.

I hopped into the passenger side of the Mustang and she practically squealed tires as we pulled out of the parking garage.
She didn't go toward the family home she bought. "Where are we going?" I asked.

"They must have been at lunch when we got here, who knows how long they have been back."

Our lives were back on track after so much pain and separation I vowed to myself that nothing would ever tear us apart ever again.
