Auden’s POV

It was almost time for the concert, we all were backstage getting ready for the boys to go on stage. Little did Brian know that he would fuck up major during his solo in Scream. Matt and I walked hand and hand to the side of the stage, when we got there we kissed and then I gave him the look. He knew what was coming, he just had to be ready for it. Everyone knew what was coming but Brian. The soundboard people would get a signal from me alerting them it was about to happen so they can fix it really quick for it to happen again. I handed Brian his guitar without looking at him. Scream was the last song they were playing tonight for the sole purpose of what I was doing tonight. I also had to be out on the stage tonight to sing with Matt, but tonight wasn’t the night for that.
“Philly are you motherfuckers ready?” Matt screamed into the mic. I was smiling like a little kid that just got a lollipop from the store without asking. Everyone was chanting and screaming, the vibe coming from everyone was great. Matt was bouncing all over the stage, Zacky and Johnny are doing whatever they were doing, Brian was trying to interact with them but everyone was brushing him off. Matt was ignoring him, which is odd for them but Brian knew he fucked up. It was almost time for show to be over, Scream was about to begin. I looked at Matt, he looked at me. I looked at all the guys, flashed my signal to the board and it was show time. I walked over to his amp and fucked with it during his solo, it let out a screeching loud noise. Brian unplugged his guitar and plugged it back in. I did the same. He strummed a few cords seeing that it was working again. He continued his solo only to have it happen again. The music all together stopped, everyone was quite.
“Don’t have your shit together tonight do you Gates?” Matt said in the mic. Brian just grew red and headed towards the side of the stage where they all came out of.
“Auden do you know what is going on with this tonight?” he asked
“No let me look at it for you.” I said grabbing the guitar and disappearing to “fix” it.
I brought it back to him,
“It should be fixed now” I smiled. Little did he know his strings were about to break. I watched him walk back on the stage.
“Everything good now?” Matt asked clearly annoyed
“Should be.” Brian said starting to pick up where he left off with his solo as soon as he was about done his strings broke. He looked down at his guitar than back at the fans. He looked sad and pissed off.
“Thank Philly!” Matt yelled. Everyone walked off the stage. The fans started chanting again.
“The hell was that Gates?” Zacky asked
“I don’t know! Auden what happened with my strings?” he asked me
“No clue. I did what you asked me.” I said
“Better figure it out Gates, we have an encore to do.” Matt said looking at me.
“I’ll just use another guitar for now.” He said voice thick with being upset.
“Come on boys!” Matt yelled coming back on the stage.
“You thought it was over didn’t you?” The crowd went crazy.
“Sorry for the little mishap. My fiancé had to teach Gates here a lesson.”
“What?” Brian said, “Auden knew about this!”
“Yeah I did.” I said walking out on the stage for ALPOH
“What the hell was that for?” he asked.
“The other night.” I stated.
“Seriously?” Brian said voice raising
“Tone down the attitude Gates, I warned you what I would do to you if you fucked up again.” I said staring at him.
“It was you this whole damn time?!” He was getting angier and angier
“Yup.” I said popping on the ‘p’
“Fucking great. Now the fans know.” he said pointing to them.
“Ok and? You cause this on yourself. You can’t get it through your thick skull that I am..”
“Woah woah woah let’s save this for after the show, we have to finish this.” Matt said standing between us. We were standing pretty close because Matt could only get his arm between us.
The song started as fast as it ended. We all walked off stage, I went straight to the tour bus. I walked in the back room threw the door closed and collapsed and started crying. I don’t know why I was upset. I was more thinking that this was affecting Matt more than me. I had to finally let it all out. I felt arms wrap around me and pull me close, I looked up and saw Matt and cried more.
“Baby it’s ok” he said.
“But what will happen between you and Brian?” I asked between sobs.
“Baby don’t worry we will get through it, you just bruised his ego a little.” Matt said
“I would like to do more than bruise his damn ego.” I snarled
“Calm down Auden.” Matt chuckled.
“Should I even apologize?” I asked
“No. Let him come to both of us first, he will most likely come to me first.” Matt said
“I understand you guys were together before I came along.” I said wiping the tears away.
“Is everyone upset with me?”
“No upset with Gates mostly.” Matt said
“And the fans?” I asked
“Social media will be crazy so we will just have to wait.” He sighed
“I didn’t mean to start a fight in front of them, he just got under my skin.” I said looking down at the ground
“Auden, it’s ok baby i understand i had to hold my tongue the whole night.” Matt said putting his thumb under my chin making me look at him.
“Baby look, Brian fucked up. You warned him. I’ve warned him. There was nothing you could do besides fuck with him. We will get through this. I remember someone once told me it was only a rough patch and that we will get through it.”
I looked at him and smiled.
“You treat me so well.”
“I have too, you deserve it.” He smiled.
“Are they out there?” I asked looking towards the door.
“Yes. They are just sitting down.” He said.
“Ok let’s go join them” I said standing up walking over to the door.
“Are you sure you wanna do that?” He asked behind me
“Yes, I am sure. I will keep my mouth shut unless he says something first.” I looked back at Matt. He looked at me.
We walked out to the living area and sat down on the couch.
“Yo what’s up?” Zack asked
“Not much, probably about to get out my laptop and keep planning things.” I said
“Oh girl let me help!” Aimee said
“Of course!” I said grabbing my laptop from the back room and sitting at the little table we had in the bus. Aimee joined me. Matt was just chilling back talking with Jimmy, Johnny and Zack. Brian was nowhere to be seen. I just kinda shrugged to myself and went about my business. I was currently looking at wedding dresses.
“Aims” I whispered
“Yes?” she asked.
“Help me with my dress I wanna be super sexy on the day.” I said. Matt looked at me and smiled
“Girl trust me we will find you one, We could have Zacky design it” She said
“Yeah!” Zack said popping into our conversation
“No!” I said
“Why not?” Aimee and Zack said in allusion.
“Because Matt will get sneaky and try to get Zack to show him the design.” I chuckled
“Will not!” Matt huffed
“Mhmm whatever babe.” I smiled
“Can I design it?” Jimmy asked with a goofy smile.
“Jimmy you can’t even draw” Johnny said
“Fuck off Johnny” Jimmy said
“Make me” Johnny shot back
Next thing I know Jimmy and Johnny are wrestling, Zack and Matt are egging them on, Aimee and I just sat back and laughed. We didn’t even see Brian standing there.
“Will you two move?!” he said highly annoyed
“What crawled up his ass?” Aimee asked
“What crawled up my ass is the fact that my guitar tech fucked me up today and everyone knew about it. The fans thought it was a shit show. Now the internet is exploding with shit because of you!” He pointed at me.
“Yeah well you deserved it.” I said still looking at dresses not really paying attention to him.
“The fuck did I do to you?” He said raising his voice. I looked up from my screen.
“Are you kidding me Brian? The party the other night!” I said voice rising a little.
“Yeah so?” He said
“So I am happily engaged to YOUR BEST FRIEND, did you forget that?” I said lifting up my left hand to show him the ring.
“I know you are, what do you want me to do?” he asked looking annoyed
“Well I think you should apologizing to your fucking best friend for creating a mess that could have been non existent. Apologize to all the guys for making this show shit, and apologizing to me for being upset because I am the one that caused this rough patch” I said crossing my arms over my chest.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” Brian said running his hands over his face.
“I AM NOT FUCKING KIDDING!” I screamed full on pissed off.
“Auden calm down.” Matt said moving towards me, I slammed my laptop screen down.
“NO HE NEEDS TO APOLOGIZE! HE’S THE REASON THE SHOW WAS SHIT.” I yelled.
“If he apologizes I will apologize. Until then I will just be pissed off with him.”
Everyone looked at me shocked by my yelling. I got up and walked away from them all, I just needed to clear my head. I ended back in the venue, I laid down in the middle looking up at the ceiling. I was laying there with my mind going a million miles a second. I closed my eyes, I felt tears run down my face. I wiped them away with my hands.
“You know, I think that screaming helped a lot.” Matt said from beside me.
“Oh really?” I said leaning up on my elbows looking at me. He was sitting with his arms on his knees looking down at me.
“Yeah, it took a moment for everything to sink into Brian’s skull before he realized you were right. He apologized to everyone but you. So I think it is time for you to come back to the bus.” He said softly
“Ok..” I said quietly getting up brushing off my butt. Matt got up and took my hand.
As we were walking back, I couldn’t help but look at Matt.
“What are you look at?” He asked smiling.
“You.” I said.
“Why?” he said
“Because I can’t wait for the day I marry the man that knows what to do when I am down or when I am pissed off. You make me calm. I didn’t mean to yell but I got so mad. I don’t wanna cause any problems between you two. Matt you’re my world, hell this whole little family is my world but you are at the center.” I said looking at him sideways.
He stopped in his tracks pulled me closed and kissed me. I put my arms around his neck deepening the kiss. He pulled away and put his forehead on mine.
“God Auden, you make me so happy. I love you so much, don’t know what I would do without you. Let’s get you back to that little family we have.” He said taking my hand and continued walking again.
We reached the bus, I stood outside of the door gathering myself. I climbed up the stairs behind Matt.
“I found her!” he said smiling. Everyone snapped their heads our way.
“OH THANK GOD!” Jimmy yelled.
“Hi..” I said quietly
“Look Auden I just wanted to….” Brian started saying.
