“I think… I think I’m in love with her” I confessed, biting my lip, there were cheers from my friends and Jimmy tackled me in a hug, pressing a sloppy kiss to my cheek. I groaned and shoved him a way. “Jimmy that’s disgusting”

“Don’t mind when Darcy does it” He smirked at me and I flipped him off.

“Yeah cos she doesn’t lick my face, seriously dude” I said wiping my cheek with the back of my hand, Jimmy just grinned at me.

“Still congratulations, so when’s the wedding?” Johnny joked, I just rolled my eyes.

I was still feeling embarrassed, it was difficult for me to admit my feelings towards anyone really and admitting to my friends that I think I love the girl that I’m going out with is the one , it’s a kind of terrifying experience.

“Wait are you sure you’re just not in love with the things she does for you?” Brian asked.

“No! Why would you even ask that Bri?! I just… I love her”

“Just making sure” He said giving Matt a look that I couldn’t understand. I sighed and stood up going into the kitchen to get a drink.

“Anyone else want one?” I called from the kitchen, there was a round of noises that I took as that they all wanted a drink. I was just pulling the soda’s from the fridge when Matt appeared in the kitchen. “What?” I asked “Matt why’re you looking at me like that?”

“Because we’re worried”

“About?”

“You”

“Why?”

“Because you’ve fallen so fast for her, it’s just like Rebekah all over again”

“No. This is nothing like that. It might be a lot of things Matt, but I can assure you with every fibre of my being that Darcy is nothing like Rebekah” I glared at him, he just looked at me with a sombre expression, God I hate it when he does that. “Matt you can fuckingsee that she’s nothing like Rebekah!”

“I know she’s nothing like Rebekah, I just don’t want to see my best friend get hurt by some girl again”

“She isn’t just some girl Matt, I… I love her”

“It’s okay to be in love Zacky” He said

“But if you guys can’t understand that then it’s gonna be so difficult”

“Zacky isn’t okay, we get it, we’re just making sure you really do love her”

“I do Matt, I really do love her” I said exasperated.

“Don’t tell me that then, tell her”

“What?”

“Tell her” He nodded behind me, I turned around and Darcy was standing there.

“Darcy” I said “What’re you doing here?” I was confused.

“I came by cos Matt called me… but I wasn’t expecting to get… that as a greeting”
She said, her voice was thick and her eyes were shining with unshed tears. “I guess you just said what I’ve always hoped you would” She smiled and blinked the tears dribbling down her cheeks.

“Don’t cry” I said, going to her and wiping the tears from her cheeks, she smiled up at me. “I don’t wanna be the reason for your tears”

“They’re happy tears” She said

“Still I don’t like it when you cry” I said cupping her cheeks.

“Don’t be such a wet blanket Zacky” She grinned at me.

“I can’t help it” I said “I’m in love with you”

“I’m in love with you too”

“Okay guys gagging he—“

“Jimmy shut the fuck up!” I heard a scuffle behind me and I turned to see Matt and Brian hauling Jimmy from the room. I laughed at him.

“Yeah so I love you” I said to her.

“I love you too Zacky, even if it took you this long to admit you love me too”

“Yeah I wish it hadn’t”

“But you have now so it’s okay”

“Yeah”

“Can you kiss me now?”

“Of course”

And then I kissed her, and much like the kisses she’d given me before, it was the most tender kiss I’d ever received.
