“Zack what the fuck did you say to Darcy?” Matt demanded, sitting down next to the rest of us outside under the oak tree.
“Oh Jesus” I said running my hand down my face.
“More importantly what did you do” I sighed, really I wanted to just smack myself in the forehead, I knew that this was gonna come back and bite me in the ass later on, well that later on was now and here it was biting me in the ass. All those weeks of trying to prove them all wrong, telling them over and over that I didn’t like her back, and the realisation had hit me that I did and now I couldn’t tell them because I’d never hear the end of it. I sighed.
“I kissed her”
“What?!” Brian spluttered, almost choking on his Dr Pepper.
“I’m sorry did he just say that he kissed her?” Johnny repeated.
“Oh shit looks like he finally grew some balls!” Brian laughed and punched my shoulder.
“Not really, she called me an asshole and told me that I shouldn’t play with her emotions like that because it’s unfair to her”
“Did you tell her that you like her?”
“No she left before I could get the chance to”

“Want us to come with you for back up?” Brian asked.

“Come on Baker” He said hauling me up off the bench. I pulled my arm away and went unwillingly, more or less Johnny said he’d make me hold his hand the whole way there if I refuse to co-operate.

“I told you I’m not fucking talking to her” I said as Jimmy shoved me through the doors to the dance studio, she was in there, but with Connor, he looked pissed off at her. Come to think of it he almost always looked pissed off at her.
“Connor I’m not talking about this” She said
“You’ll fucking do as I say” He growled. At that point I felt the need to step in, no one talks to Darcy like that.
“Actually asshole she doesn’t, seeing as she can think for herself she doesn’t have to
do what you tell her”
“What’s it got to do with you Baker? She’s not your girlfriend”
“No she’s not” I said taking a step forward “But as her boyfriend you
shouldn’t be bossing her about and treating her like shit” I was a couple of inches shorter than him but it didn’t make a difference. He carried on glaring at me before he left the room.
“Zack what do you want?” She asked me. I turned around and tried to leave but Jimmy stopped me and Brian locked the doors. I sighed and rubbed my face “Look I have stuff to be getting on with so if this is just you being an ass then leave”
“He want’s to tell you something” Matt said

“It doesn’t matter” I said
“Well then I’ll see y’around” She said before leaving through the outside door.
