Forever is Right Now

As The World Crashes Down

**Brian’s POV**

It was the morning of the baby shower, I’d convinced Savannah and Tenney to come and to bring the boys, the guys deserved to meet the kids officially and Zacky needed to find out that he was a father. They’d both agreed but Tennessee seemed to be more nervous than normal when they got to my house. “What’s wrong Ten?”

She shook her head, “I just worry that he’s not going to accept Lyric.” She looked over at the two boys playing as Savvy joined us.

“Babe, Zack was crazy about you, he’s going to love Lyric. He may even take you back,” Savannah told her hugging her tightly.

I nodded, “There’s a fairly good chance of that, Zack’s that type of gentleman. I mean, if I found out that Ember was pregnant, I’d be there no matter what. Nothing would stop us.”

They nodded and I pulled both of them in a hug, “We need to head over there.” Tennessee said after a few moments.

“Yeah we do,” I said then looked over at the kids. “Alright boys, who wants a ride to the car?”

They both scampered up to me and I chuckled picking them up one in each arm. They were both dressed like their fathers, there would be no mistaking them. Landon had just about everything personality wise in common with Jimmy and Lyric, well fuck man, I mean throw hair dye in his hair and he’d be the spitting image of Zee.

Tennessee and Savannah locked up behind me and they put the car seats in the back, Savannah had opted to join the two boys in the backseat and sit between them. I couldn’t help but chuckle as Landon scampered over Savannah’s lap to get to his seat, she helped buckle them in then buckled herself in while Tennessee and I hopped in front. “Tenney, everything will be okay, quit biting your nails. It’s a bad habit,” I said softly but sternly and she giggled nervously sticking her tongue out at me.

“You don’t scare me Bri, never have, never will. You’re literally the biggest teddy bear even with that tough exterior,” She lightly teased me as we buckled up.

When we arrived at Matt’s house for the BBQ there was no sign of Matt’s car, but everyone else was already there. Including the Berry’s and Larry who hadn’t really said much throughout this entire ordeal, I knew they missed Jimmy. Fuck we all did, but we have to be able to communicate and celebrate his life, even if today was literally the worst feeling day since he past. “The fuck is Matt?” I asked mainly myself.

“Uncle Bwian said a bad word!” Landon screeched and Lyric giggled.

“Yeah Brian, you said a bad word,” Savannah laughed shaking her head at her son.

Tennessee laughed as Lyric looked at me, he still hadn’t warmed up to me much, but I figured that was the personality that both Tennessee and Zacky shared. They were shy at first unless it was for work, that kid was doomed to be just as shy. “I’m sorry guys,” I laughed jumping out of the truck and opening up the doors that we’d put on child lock. I unbuckled Landon and he latched onto me, hugging me tightly. I hugged him too, god I’d missed Jimmy’s hugs. Glad to see this kid is gonna be one of those huggers.

Lyric stood up on the door frame, “Uncle Brian,” he said and lifted his arms. I smiled and picked him up too, much like we’d done to get them into the truck. As Tennessee helped Savannah crawl out, I carried the boys towards the house, the girls close behind us. I let Savannah and Tennessee open the door to the house as we all yelled, ”Knock, knock”.

We saw Zacky, Johnny, and Simone sitting on the couch and heard Larry and the Berry’s in the kitchen opening beers. I set the kiddos down and they hid behind my legs. “Aww guys, come on, you don’t have to be shy,” I chuckled and rested one hand on each of their heads.

“Awww hey guys,” Simone smiled as she stood up and waddled over to us and gave the girls and I hugs and kisses on the cheek, before looking down at the kids. “Hey there fellas, having fun with your mommies and Brian?”

Lyric nodded shyly peeking out from behind me and I heard Simone gasp; meanwhile, Landon stepped out in front of me flashing a smile, “It’s Uncle Bwian.”

Simone looked between Lyric and Zacky who was staring at Lyric. Johnny was the first to speak up, “Uncle Brian’s pretty cool yeah? I’m Johnny.” He came up and knelt down, he’d noticed the similarities between Zacky and Lyric but wasn’t acting on it.

Lyric stepped out in front of me and I saw Zacky’s jaw tense. “Hi Uncle Johnny,” Lyric told him and hugged him tightly.

I couldn’t help but smile down at the kids, they were both so cute and amazing little dudes. “Uncle Johnny, why are you our size?” Landon popped off with and literally all of us laughed whole heartedly as the boys looked at us excited to have their own playmate.

“That almost sounded like a line Jimmy would have used,” Larry said as he approached us.

“Tennessee, I need to talk to you,” Zacky said and led her away from the group.

**Zacky’s POV**

When Brian walked in, carrying those two kids, I noticed the little boy’s eyes immediately, he looked just like me, when I was his age. Tennessee wouldn’t meet my eyes as everyone cooed over the children, I couldn’t stop looking at the little kid who was probably close to 4 years old. Four years old and I didn’t know he existed until today? The fuck is her problem, well I didn’t know but I knew I needed to find out why she kept him from me. “Tennessee, I need to talk to you,” I said, leading her into the kitchen. I immediately asked the Berry’s to give us a moment.

“Hey what’s up Zacky?” She asked me cautiously, already knowing full well what this was about.

“What’s up? Care to explain how I happen to have an exact copy of me in there?” I asked trying to keep my temper calm.

She sighed and sat down on one of the barstools, “Zack, you guys had just gotten your big break, you guys were going to be touring nonstop pretty much as it turned out for damn near two years. A child and a girlfriend would have been a major distraction for you. We would have been a major distraction for all of you. Both Savannah and I,” she tried to reason with me. “Losing Jimmy, it made me realize that keeping Lyric wasn’t going to accomplish anything but make him think you didn’t want him and you never knowing your son who’s literally exactly like you.”

I stared down at the floor, “We need to talk further, but we can’t do it here. This is Simone and Matt’s day.” I looked in her eyes and gave her a small smile, “I’d love to be apart of his life though.”

She met me with a similar smile and nodded, “I think that’d be really great Zacky. You guys will have a lot to talk about.”

I chuckled and nodded, “Thank-you for bringing him here. Helps ease the sadness seeing both Jimmy’s little man and mine.”

She nodded, “I was hoping that it would be good for them to see and interact with everyone. Bet Simone’s ready to get that kid out.” At that moment there was a scream and an “OH MY GOD,” coming from the living room.

We ran back in to see Simone standing between Johnny and Brian, gripping their biceps as they both had an arm around her back. Savannah had both boys next to her keeping them out of the way. “The fuck happened?” I asked hurrying over to Simone.

“Her water broke man, we gotta get her to the hospital,” Brian told me.

I nodded, “Put her in my car, we’ll take two vehicles, Brian you take the girls and the kids, Larry, Johnny, and the Berry’s you’re with me and Simone in the escalade.”

“YOU’RE NOT TAKING BRIAN AND JOHNNY AWAY FROM ME YOU SON OF A BITCH!” Simone yelled out hormones and pain making me wince.

Tennessee looked up at me, “What if Jason drives Brian’s truck with me, Savvy and the boys, then you three, Larry, and Matt B ride with Simone in the escalade?”

I nodded, “Deal. Alright guys go. And someone call Matt!”

**Ember’s POV**

Matt and I had gotten up somewhat early and gone to breakfast. We invited Simone, but she insisted that she wasn’t feeling great but that we should go. Matt had told her to call him if something happened, but we hadn’t heard anything yet.

I saw the cemetery that I’d avoided going to as we drove past heading back to Matt’s, “Wait…I need to tell Jimmy.” I said softly. “It’s his birthday Matt, we need to get flowers.”

Matt nodded, “Alright, there was a grocery store up the road, we’ll grab some flowers for him there, then we’ll go to the cemetery.”

I smiled and nodded, “Deal.”

Not even 20 minutes later, we sat at Jimmy’s grave. “I wish you were here man,” Matt said softly. “We met Landon a couple months ago at your funeral, he’s a cute kid. Definitely reminds us all of you.” He chuckled softly. “Simone’s going to be having the baby at some point Jimbo, we need you to make sure that everything goes well, but I know you will,” he nodded slightly as he pulled his knees up to his chest, his arms wrapping around them.

I smiled at the headstone, placing the flowers, “You’re going to be an uncle again Jimmy, I’m 15 weeks pregnant. I really wish you were here, I would have told you first.” I sat there quietly, wiping my eyes slightly. “We brought you flowers for your birthday, you would have been 29 today Jim, it doesn’t seem right you’re not here.”

Matt nodded, “Happy birthday buddy, we love and miss you something terrible.” He checked the time on his phone and stood slowly. “We’ll be back soon,” he promised Jimmy but I stayed sitting next to my best friend’s grave, playing with the grass as it grew.

“Matt, I’m not ready, give me a few?” I asked softly looking up at my brother, I knew we were on a time crunch and he didn’t like leaving Simone gone for very long. He looked like he was getting ready to object and I gave him a pleading look. “Please Matt? Just a few more moments.”

He finally gave in and wrapped his jacket around my shoulders, “Alright, but not too long, you don’t need to be getting sick out here.”

I rolled my eyes, “Fine Matthew.” I waved him off as he chuckled and I knew Jimmy would have chuckled too. “He’s right though Jimmy, we all love and miss you. I haven’t told Brian that he’s going to be a daddy, you would have been the first one he would have ran to tell.” I pulled out the ultrasound picture and showed it to the headstone, showing him the baby.

After a few moments had passed, I heard Matt honk his horn frantically, “I guess I gotta go Jim, I promise I’ll be back soon. I’ll bring baby daddy with me next time.” I placed a small kiss on the headstone before getting up and walking back to the car, the ultrasound picture safely in my pocket.

“Simone’s in labor!” Matt shouted as I got in the car and buckled up.

“Alright, relax Matt. Where are they?” I asked excited but trying to calm my brother.

“Pacifica Hospital, hold on sis, we’re gonna get there as soon as possible,” he said as he threw the car in drive and we exited the cemetery.

“Matt don’t go too fast, you don’t want to get a ticket or anything,” I chastised him as he sped off in the direction of the hospital.

We hadn’t been on the road two minutes when we came to an intersection; there wasn’t really anyone there except for one car. The driver I couldn’t really see, but it was a black car. Matt was in the middle of the intersection when their car collided with his. I felt the impact before I heard the metal on metal collision. Matt’s car having been hit at just the right angle clipped the curb and rolled into oncoming traffic.

It felt like we were in a pin ball machine, the searing white pain becoming too much for me, as I tried to guard my stomach. As we stopped spinning I looked over at Matt who was suspended from his seat as I was, being held in by our seatbelt only. The airbags had deployed, I saw blood pooling around my head as I passed out…slipping into a white oblivion last thing I heard was Matt whisper my name.
