Summary
Cailey Jo could have never imagined not living on a farm, let alone living in the suburbs of Huntington Beach, California. She feels like her world is crashing down around her as she’s failing math and her hometown boyfriend won’t leave her thoughts. She forced to tutor with a supposed senior outcast, Zack Baker, but he may tutor her on a lot more than math, all while trying to resist gaining feelings for each other.

Autumn Marie Miller
Autumn befriends Cailey Jo on her first day and they quickly become inseparable. She’s known to be a punk outcast at Huntington Beach, just like Cailey Jo. She’s the walking, breathing definition of a mouthy badass, so maybe they aren’t so different after all.
Cailey Jo Ember Nash
A feisty, loud mouthed, cussing, beer drinking, tough, hard to love country girl with a heart of gold. Loving and loyal once you get past her hard outer shell. Born and raised in the Midwest. Her family, step brother Clayton and mother Georgia, suddenly moved to Huntington Beach, California after her mother decided to become a real estate agent.
Clayton Tucker Marshall
Clayton Marshall is the All-American, Midwestern farm boy: charming, attractive, athletic and kind-hearted. Spends much of his time protecting his seven month younger step sister, Cailey Jo, and making sure she stays out of trouble. There aren’t many boys like him in their senior class, so he does his best with what he’s given, trying his best to fit in.
Ryan Michael Ellis
Ryan Ellis is Cailey Jo’s on again, off again boyfriend in Missouri. He appeared to be the perfect boyfriend: sweet, caring and had a good reputation. The first months were wonderful, he showered her with gifts and affection. Things took a turn for the worst when he began tracking her every move, and putting his hands on her aggressively. Cailey Jo has attempted to cut all ties, but he somehow finds his way back into her life.
